I came to ASAP after having been referred to them by Dory from Watt Computer Repair, as he said he'd dealt with them before and had good experiences. So I went there and met with Daniel at the front desk. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and very clear about the process and the cost involved, depending on the extent of damage. It all made sense to me so I put down my deposit, relinquished the drive and hoped for the best. While some people need their data right away, I was in no rush; mine was mostly sentimental value so waiting was fine. During this time, Daniel kept in communication with me, providing updates every so often. In the end, only a portion could be recovered, and much was corrupted. Even still, I was given a breakdown of exactly which was which, was able to review it all myself, as well as ask questions, which were answered quickly. Ultimately, what was recoverable was still worth it to me, so I agreed to the terms that had been set and paid the full amount for the recovery, and bought a HDD from them to put the data on (their prices for a new drive are totally fair and on par with what you could get elsewhere, so the convenience was ideal). What they say on their website, in their contract you sign, and in verbal communication, is ALL consistent: if they can't fix it or what they can fix is not satisfactory, then you just pay the deposit and that's it. There are no hidden fees. I never once felt pressured to keep going with the recovery, and I never once felt like I didn't understand what was going on. All in all, it was a great experience.
