I have been a loyal client but this was my last time. The person that did my mani and pedi was super nice. The pedicure and massage was good. However, when he did my nails, he did a poor job. I went for dip removal and spa pedicure. Before leaving, he checked my toe nails and told me they were dry. As soon as I got home, I took off my sandals and the nail polish came off. I was horrified and called the place. The "lady" that answered told me that next time, I should get a gel pedicure. I was like no thank you. I went back later to make an appointment because I didn't have time. She was rude and defensive about the situation. The next day, I went to correct the terrible mani and pedi. She kept saying my name in an angry way, obviously talking about me. So rude and disrespectful!! By the way, I needed to take off my dip powder because I was having surgery the week after. Had a manicure with acrylic removal, and they couldn't do that right. Still peeling off the acrylic myself. Also, I think they are having drainage issues, because right after my pedicure I could hear water bubbling in the background. Pretty gross. Also, mu sister's technician was horrible. She soaked my sister's nails off in a bowl of acetone, and my poor sister's finger tips peeled off as skin would in a chemical burn. Never coming back here again, and would not recommend. read more

I've been going to this Salon since we moved to the area 4+ years ago, but after my usual nail technician Tim abruptly quit, I had to start having a lady do my nails. However, she got mad at my last appointment because I did not want her to use "callous" softener on my toes/feet. I've always refused their callous softener and always ask them to use only soap because on several different occasions, I've realized that when they do use it, there is an egregious amount of callous; dry or hard/dead skin that builds up on my feet/heels. However, since I've asked them to not use it, I have not had those issues. It appears the employees may have filled the bottles with another product that creates or exacerbates dry feet/crack heels or callous issues in an attempt to make customers come more frequently to get pedicures. Lastly, because I would not allow the lady that was doing my feet to use the suspicious unknown product, she got an attitude and said that next time they can only do my nails & not my feet because it takes "longer" to do my feet, which is a lie. Horrible service since Tim left will no longer go there to get my nails done. read more

This is my second time coming to this salon and it's not bad. I come early in the mornings because they aren't as busy and maybe spend more time on their customers. I've gone to See Tim twice and service has been great both times. They are professional and I was seen on time (I made an appointment the day before). Gives great massage for a regular pedicure and I would book another slot just for the massage! This is my first time getting a dip set. So far I'm on week 2 and still going strong. However the top coat started peeling off after a week. Not sure what I did wrong (if anything). I do a lot of dishes and cleaning so that may have contributed to the peeling. They could use some background music or something to fill the silence but no other complaints. Facility is clean and service is good. Will be back for sure! read more

I have gone to Lady Nails for almost a year. My technicians have always been great. Today I went for my usual pedicure and gel manicure as I prep for leaving out of town for a wedding. I left the salon thinking..." this doesn't look like the color I picked" "actually this is not the color on my toes" !!? I immediately return and show the gal at the front desk but she shows me the bottles and says they are the same and that it is CLOSE enough!!! The receptionist was rude and said she can't fix my problem. The technician came up and offered to paint my toes to match my nails ( even though my nails are essentially neon ‍) but it was an easier fix. I honestly think some of these salon owners Mix colors to just save money rather than buying the matching sets. I won't go back to Lady Nails on Cedar Rd in Chesapeake but I do appreciate the good, hard working technicians there! read more

I left a review for this place a couple of years ago that was much better but this time around they get 1 star. I had stopped getting my nails done for a while. I was letting them go natural and rest. I decided it was time to put my nails back on and went back to my go-to place. I don't know what happened to their customer service and quality but it's crap. My nails started coming off and I had fungus under two of them. I've never had that happen in all my time wearing acrylic. I went to a different salon and they fixed my nails for me, treated my fungus. They told me that likely they were using old acrylic powder and it wasn't adhering well and letting water under my nails. Sorry Lady Nails, do better. read more

I've been going here for a while but this is my last time. I've had it. When my teenage daughters go here when I'm with them they come out with a great set of nails, yet when I'm not there they come out with crappy nails and are given the new person or person that does a crappy sloppy job just because they are kids...I have to come back and have them red one. Would not recommend. My daughter and I both went together, I for a pedicure and my daughter for an acrylic full set of nails. The pedicure was fine, pretty typical of any other pedicure I have ever had. My daughter was directed over to a chair, and turns out the guy is giving her a manicure!! He got ready to paint her nails and she stopped him and said sorry but I'm supposed to be getting an acrylic full set... there was some shuffling and she was moved to a different chair/different person and given the full set. The big issues here are 1. I was way over charged!! The price list on the desk at the salon when you walk in clearly dictates the prices, 35 for pedicure, and 25 for acrylic full set, so you can imagine I was floored when my total was $115!! (Without tip). I questioned it obviously, bc I didn't upgrade to the "spa pedicure" or anything special, but for some reason my pedicure was $55 and my daughters was $65 (even though she saw the tech write down $55!!!!!). I was told I got gel polish on my toes. IM SORRY WHAT. Gel polish is an extra $20? Is lady nails just making stuff up as they go?!?!? Then my daughters, no real explanation other than I also got charged an extra $10 for the manicure WE NEVER ASKED FOR. I did not want to cause a scene, so I paid and we left. I even tipped. My experience is normally good. However, today I received a pedicure that is going to hurt for days. The technician cut my nails so low that I can see the nail bed/fleshy part where nail should be. I do not complain, however after showing the front desk attendant who spoke with the store manager and my having to ask twice, they reluctantly took $10 off for the special nail polish I requested and $10 after me just standing there expecting them to do more. I am going to be in pain for God only knows how long until my toenails grow back PLUS make sure they don't get infected. I voiced my concerns politely and this is what I now forced to do. I pray my toes don't hurt. I came here to treat myself for my birthday and relax and instead I get pain that I had to pay for...... Customer service and empathy apparently is not a priority at Lady Nails. The technician apologized and I of course accepted her apology BUT WHAT ABOUT MY TOES!! read more

For me, I come here for any special occasion to get my nails and eyebrows done. Mani/Pedis are always perfect when I leave here and last awhile. I can rely that my eyebrows look naturally cleaned up rather than some freaky unnatural arches that some people just give to their customers. Truly...I don't know how this place has anything less than 4 stars. I've waited to review until I've gone back on four separate occasions and I've always left extremely happy. The staff is so friendly, they are fast with manicures (which I appreciate, I still feel pampered), the gel never peels off early for me, and they haven't cut me while trimming my cuticles (something that happens at virtually every salon I go to). Well this place had folks waiting but we had an hour before they closed so we waited. It was worth it! We both did spa pedicures and the ladies were fabulous. Went last Sunday to get a pedi and mani. Wasn't impressed with my pedicure, very poorly done. Didn't push back my cuticles and painted over them. Gel mani was decent. Again, didn't pay much attention to cuticles. Probably would go back for gel manicure but not pedicure. read more

In the past I have had good luck here! I usually go to a nice man- I forget his name, but he has a great attitude and always does a professional, neat, precise job. He wasn't there today but I took a chance anyway. I asked for the spa pedi and mani, as I was off of work and in the mood to treat myself. The lady who did my pedi was great- she was taller and had short hair. The fingernails though- ugh. They moved me to a nail station with a younger girl and she did not know what she was doing. For a "spa" manicure there was not any treatments or massage performed. She filed my nails, barely soaked my nails in plain water, and then didn't even push the cuticles back. She trimmed one or two loose pieces of skin but left the rest of the cuticles (see pic). I pointed out a few areas and she just smiled like she didn't understand me. She put the paint on so thick, it's all full of bubbles (again, see pic). She finished my nails and took me to the dryer and just left. The girl who did my pedi took my payment, and she could tell I was upset and she just apologized for not being able to do the mani also. Also, I was there with a friend and they didn't sit us together for the manis despite many tables being open. If I go back, I will be sure to stick with the guy I usually see. read more

Went in last week to use my Mother's Days gift certificates. I haven't been there since the new ownership. Had a spa pedicure and a gel manicure done. All together is was $75, not counting tip. I was not in a rush and wanted to be pampered, so I settled into the massage chair and let Angela do her thing. My favorite part was having my feet wrapped in hot wax. Since I have moved from Virginia Beach to Great Bridge i have been searching for all my own " local places" for services like nails and hair. I was out on my day off and decided i was in desperate need of a Pedi. So on my way to My Walmart, yep its not yours its mine, I found this spot tucked away in a strip mall and decided to give it a try. I was seated right away after picking my color. They have the nice massage chairs and I nearly fell asleep. The girl was super nice and spent much more time even though I didn't get the Spa pedicure for extra! The last one I went to rushes and you feel kinda robbed. My toes are still looking great with no chipping or peeling. This might be my new nail spot! read more

Terrible service! When they're busy, they only care about money and doing as many customers as they can in the shortest amount of time. They don't pay attention to their customers. They rush through every service. My nails were painted while only looking down once and my eyebrows are uneven because she went so fast. I've been going here for years and it's gotten horrible. She did my nails, got to where she was going to shape them and said "What kind of shape is this? Did you file them on your own?" Very RUDE. Not to mention when she was done with my nails and about to paint them she didnt have me go wash my hands so she painted them with the dust everywhere. 2 days later the shellic started peeling off. So I set a appt and missed it but called because I actually thought it was at a different time. So Tina tells me that the nail tech 1 says not to make any more appts with her because I always change my time. Well when you make your appt Tina tells you if anything changes to give them a call. Not a fan. My daughter and I went into Lady Nails on a Thursday at 2:30. There was one pedicure chair in use so we were quickly seated. There were people getting manis and two staff sitting with no customers. After about 20 minutes someone comes over to my daughter and started her. Hmmm... I was visiting a friend in VA and this salon was close to her, so we went for a mani/pedi. My critical review may be due to the fact that I am from NYC and we perhaps have a different caliber when it comes to salons (like we don't use the ACRYLIC NAIL ELECTRIC DRILL ON TOES!) but I found the entire job to be sub par. My pedi polish could have been neater, and for my mani, the manicurist never completely removed my previous nail polish. She tried to paint over it and it was still visible on the sides of my nail - when I pointed it out to her, she tried to scrape it off and said it was because I refused to get my cuticles cut!! Not okay. Again, maybe this is the standard for VA beach salons, but you seriously deserve better. read more

Ive been going here for about 2 years and i have never had a bad experience until recently. I got a pedicure and the guy scraped so hard on the side of my foot, he rubbed it raw. I also got acrylics. After about a week one of the nails completely fell off and i decided just to get them all refilled. After another week ANOTHER nail, a different one, fell off. I went back a third time and i asked the lady if any more nails were going to fall off. This all happened within a 3 week period. She was bitchy and told me that it was my fault it fell off and that it was probably because my nails were brittle. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN! read more

I have been a loyal client for about three years and have even brought my two daughters in for services. I had my nails done last week by a tech different from who I normally see. When I got home, I noticed that there was acrylic missing on the sides of some nails, and that my nails looked really thick and felt weird. I called first thing in the morning on my way out of town and left a message for Tina to call me back. She never did, so I called again and she answered. I explained to her that I was unhappy (my first complaint I have ever made there) She was very nice about it and got me an appointment for as soon as I got back in town. When I went in today. I was with a different tech from earlier in the week which was fine with me. She immediately used the drill to start taking off my polish and added more acrylic to where needed before using the drill again to try to make it not look so thick. She asked if I wanted to leave the two nails that had an ombre acrylic and I said that was fine. She also asked if I wanted a different color polish and I decided sure why not. When I went to leave, I was very surprised to be told that I owed then $15 for a polish change. (Tina expalined that it should really be $20 but since I didn't have the tech do two of the nails, she took off $5) I asked why I would have to pay for a polish change when they had to take it off anyway to fix my nails. Tina told me it was because I changed the color. I informed her that it shouldn't matter what color I painted them since they had to be repainted since it was filed off with the drill. She told me I was wrong and to make the nails look like they were not so thick, they would have just drilled from underneath. I told her that that was impossible. There is no way you can make the nail look thinner by drilling from underneath being that it is atached to my finger. She said she would ask management what they thought. Management came up and the three of us went round and round. I told them that I was appalled that they would lose a loyal client of three years over $15!! It made no sense to me and if there was going to be a charge, I should have been told before hand. Their attitude was they could care less. They just wanted their lousey $15! Even when I told them if they charged me I would never come back, all they can say is that I owed them $15. I am beside myself that this is how a loyal customer would be treated. I am in the service industry myself and I would never in a million years treat one of my clients this way. Time to find somewhere new. read more

Worst manicure of my life. The equipment was old and dirty and worn. The tech was bitchy, she sanded my cuticles and then dunked my finger tips in old rubber cups (the kind you use to make your fingertips grip paper) that looked like a dog chewed them. The polish was painted on sloppily and the tech walked off without even telling me her name. I wouldn't bring my dog to this place. I just pray that I won't get a staph infection. read more
