I don't give 5 stars for just anyone. I know I'm going to jack up my technicians name BUT I'll give it a try - Kenecia! She was the bomb. It was like a one woman show when I arrived for my 315pm appointment. There were a few people waiting to be seen.I arrived a little early, was greeted and signed in by Kenecia and she drew my blood. I asked if the wait was very long and she told me no. I don't like having blood work done. The folk usually stick me at least 3 times NOT her - she got it on the first try. I told her that I need to take her with me every time I need blood drawn somewhere. I was seen before 315pm and I was back in my office (across the street) before anyone could miss me. Great service! Went here as a referral from my allergist who is in the same building! Very speedy and nice receptionist. Very clean too. JEFF- the man who took my blood, was so professional and kind!! I told him I don't do well with blood and it makes me nauseated. He had me lay down and talked with me while doing it, and gave me water after! I walked home after with no problem!! He was great!! One of the best places I've gone to get blood taken. Amazing customer service as a walk in customer and was seen promptly. They have an automated system that helped stepped up the sign up process that the technician actually utilized successfully and was able to continue to keep the line moving at a pace that was impressive with a full crowded waiting room. This location is open later then other locations in the area. I have been getting bloodwork and labs done all over the city for years and often had to accept not receiving good customer service- not this location! This location was the exception and definitely stood out! read more

So, there's not much to like about having to get blood taken. It's usually a very traumatic experience for me because my veins are small and well-insulated... Like in the arms of a chubby baby. I normally have technicians stab around both my arms during their attempts to find my veins for the blood taking process. And then I end up looking like I'm shooting heroin for a week because of the bruises. I only saw horrible reviews for all of the DC labs, but when I called up the Labcorps to check on lines, the receptionists were all very nice. She mentioned a possible 20-30 minute wait. I went in around 11am on a Monday without an appointment. They had maybe 4 others when I got there that were waiting. When I got there, I was immediately greeted and the receptionist (who might also be one of the lab techs) was super efficient in processing my form, ID, insurance, physician's lab request form and credit card (file though they say they will send the bill to my insurance directly before billing me). She then lead me to the bathroom for the urine sample first. Stage fright or something, but I think I could only do a sprinkle. I came out and the lab tech had me go into her room. We both laughed at how little pee was in the cup. She was sweet and took me to their water station and let me try to "fill up." Then she just brought me back to get my blood done first... I have to give 5 stars to Sandra... Sandra was super quick in getting my vein with the needle, and she was super friendly. She was also super sweet in giving me water to help me with my empty pee cup (sorry for the visual). She was probably the nicest person who's ever taken my blood before! I thank her for making this experience easier on me. *minus a star for the bathroom cleanliness and also because I think the cups/supplies shouldn't be sitting under the paper towel dispenser. read more

Labcorps typically suck, but this sucked pretty hard. I went here to get blood drawn to confirm I'm a possible donor for a patient. The process was simple: the donor organization sent them a package, they were to draw my blood in a series of vials and send it back ASAP. That process went perfectly fine, but it wasn't exactly pleasant. I walked in and the place was empty, but I nonetheless spent some time waiting in the blood draw room for no reason. The staff was a bit unpleasant, though the lady that drew my blood was decent enough. The office itself was somewhat dirty - there was paper lying on the floor, slightly dirty linoleum, etc. Just glad I won't have to go back here again! read more

The staff was unprofessional and lazy. I understand people want to go home when the day is over but until y'all close y'all need to maintain a certain level of customer service. I"my appointment was at 2:45pm I arrived and checked in at 2:55 (within my 15minute grace period) at 3 pm I got a text saying they were ready for me. I stepped into the office at 3:07 on the dot ad they refused to service me because drug screening ends at 3... but they didn't call me until 3 and their excuse was that I was outside of my 15minute window. This is after her saying they don't have the same policies that are posted on the website which says you can still be seen but the wait time will just be longer. As I tried to get a better understanding the girls at the front desk got upset and said they already explained they aren't going to keep talking to me and anyway the tech was gone for the day (at 3:08 even though they offer a 3 o'clock time slot.) I reached out to the manager who says I have to come back tomorrow because the girl said I didn't arrive until 3:25. I was on the phone with manager at that time so not sure how that's possible. Very ghetto and unprofessional. They were on the back laughing and talking loud for at least 10minutes before they came up front to even address me. If you need a job somewhere where you don't have to do your job this place is it! read more

I went in for a blood draw. I didn't have to wait long but the process itself was awful. The technician mumbled through it and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. The blood draw was quite painful and I ended up with a hematoma and a huge bruise directly above where she inserted the needle. Obviously never going back to this location at all. read more

After spending 30 minutes trying to get my insurance information straight, they told me that they would only send the results to the MD who ordered the test. I wouldn't have thought to write a Yelp review for a lab but when I was looking up directions I saw it pop up in yelp and got nervous for my appointment seeing all the negative reviews! I strongly dislike getting blood drawn so wanted to write a review to ease anyone else's fears in seeing these reviews. It was quick and easy to make an appointment online. When I arrived there was only one other person waiting. I checked in at a kiosk by scanning my driver's license. The front desk person did the standard making copy of my insurance, signing off on payment, etc. I arrived 5 minutes early for my 12:30 pm appointment but they were ready for me. The person who took my blood was quick and painless and I walked out at 12:33. Super quick and easy. Side note - there is parking in the building. It was $14 for an hour or around $21 for 2+ hours, but if you use Spot Hero to reserve in advance it was only $10. They operate the garage as valet so takes a little longer to pick your car back up, but not bad and economical for DC garages. read more

These people are unprofessional, the nurse is over-worked and your health is their last concern. I was sent for Vitamin B12 and MMA blood tests, but didn't know to avoid taking vitamins beforehand. When the nurse realized I had taken a vitamin pill that morning, she nevertheless took the blood sample.The doctor as a result failed to diagnose a serious vitamin deficiency, which continued for another couple of years. Before that I had a blood glucose test done, which involved taking a series of blood samples at timed intervals. The nurse failed to tell me when the time was up. She then faked the time interval in the test results, pretending a result taken at 2 hrs 45 mins had actually been taken at 2 hrs. There was no-one in the room I could ask and no clock in the waiting room. So that test also was a failure and a huge waste of time. read more

There is graffiti in the area where you leave specimens (marker on the wall like a cheap bathroom), they don't answer their phones ( I had to listen to the long message, then waited "while other customers were on the line" then CLICK DISCONNECTED, it took over a week to get the result of a simple urine sample. I guess these people happened to have gotten pretty unlucky...I dealt with Labcorp on 2 separate occasions: one, when I had to get my bloodwork done, and second when I had to deal with customer service to get my lab results sent to a different doctor. Both instances were wonderful. I had no wait, the people at the front desk were extremely nice, and the technician/nurse who took my blood was really calming--very helpful for someone as squeamish as myself. On the phone with customer service later, the woman was incredibly helpful, even if the hold wait was a little longer than I would have liked. Labcorp may have read these previous reviews and changed their staff, but I had a very positive experience. read more

This was terrible. They had a sign on the wall if you have checked in and waiting more than 30 minutes come to the desk. I went the desk and she stated I can leave if I want to but she cant tell my how long the wait will be. Then, they have them doing 2 jobs. The front desk receptionist and drawing blood. 4 people walked out. One lady stated she was waiting 2.5 hours. LabCorb need to hire receptionist and let the phlebotomist do their job. read more

August 2, 2019, I went to the facility located in the George Washington Medical Faculty Associates building at 2300 M Street, NW, Suite 110-16, Washington, DC. I had blood drawn and felt faint. I asked to lie down and was told that was not possible. I fainted and was sat in a chair, the absolute WORST thing to do. I started to sweat like it was raining and vomit. They called 911 and I was taken to the hospital. This ended up costing me almost $2000, all because they were medically negligent. I complained and nothing happened. read more

I had to have routine blood work after an annual physical. I went here because of my insurance. The online appointment system was not working, so I went as a walk-in at 8:08 AM, the Friday before a three day weekend. I was greeted pleasantly, signed in, and was done and left before 8:30 AM. Run! Elsewhere, anywhere! I got there at 11:10 and found a fully packed waiting room. They said it would be 35 minutes to get seen which is quite a while but okay. I patiently waited for my name to be called...nothing. An hour and 15 minutes later a new lady came to the front and asked who hadnt turned their forms in yet to which 75% of the waiting room stood up. I dont know what happened with the other staff person but she grossly neglected her duties and wasted everyones time. Looking on the sheet I found that she had also skipped over my name and taken other people before me. All in all this was an hour and a half process that should have been much much shorter and unnecessarily resulted in a room full of angry customers. I did not have an appointment as none were immediately available on line for bloodwork today, so I decided to walk in. I was courteously greeted by the receptionist as I walked over to the easy to use kiosk to register. Within five minutes I was called, and after just a few minutes I was on my way to have my blood taken. The lady who drew my blood was professional, courteous and best of all, painless. I really didn't know that the needle was in. We were chatting about those awesome Nationals, and before I knew it, it was over. I asked about how long the results would take to get to my out of town doc, and received a prompt reply "three to five days". Very good experience. read more

I have had may bad experiences with Labcorp so my expectations were pretty low. I couldn't make an appointment online because this location showed no availability for months. I ended up just walking over one morning around 10 and was second in line and in a chair for my lab work within about 10 minutes and out within 15. The front desk lady did enter my info wrong so it took a minute to get that corrected but we all make mistakes and I am just happy everything was done promptly. read more

I have to give this LabCorp a good review because my experience was so much better than all my previous experiences at the 19th Street LabCorp location. While it wasn't gushing with friendliness, everyone was professional & nobody was rude--quite a difference from 19th Street. I went there for a 1-hour glucose screening and unlike the folks at the 19th Street location, they did not *incorrectly* inform me that I had to fast before the test. I received clear instructions and reasonable answers to all my questions. My phlebotomist was excellent--didn't even feel the needle. I am certainly going to return to this location next time. read more

I specifically visited Yelp to write a good review about this place (usually how it works for me, somewhere is really good--or bad--enough to warrant investing more time). Really surprised to see so many unhappy people here... My experience was very different... I showed up 15 min before they open without an appt. There was already one other lady there, who did have an appt. She went first, which was good because my PCP forgot to fax the request. Marcus calls my PCP's office, and we get the form. They take me back. Roll up my sleeves, breathe deep for the prick, still talking with the nurse--ask her when she is ready and OMG SHE IS ALMOST DONE. I am so very sad I don't remember her name! I have dealt with good phlebotomists and bad ones (the kind that just roll your vein, never quite puncture it?), but this lady, she rewrote the rules... Everyone knows the "You won't feel a thing..." line is BS. Idk, maybe she got lucky, but this time I literally DIDN'T FEEL A THING. In and out 15 minutes. read more

I came to the K Street location after having used the office on Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, Md. The Chevy Chase office was very good overall, in my experience -- meaning I didn't wait more than 5-10 minutes for my previously scheduled (online) appointment for routine bloodwork and the blood draw was quick, relatively painless and efficient. Today for my K Street appointment, I was taken within 10-15 minutes of my appointment time and the phlebotomist (with a spanish accent, can't remember her name) was courteous, gentle with the needle, and quick. The front desk person, however, could use a little polish, and in general the other office staff could have had a little more sense of urgency. But overall it was pleasant. And as another reviewer complained, it's true: They will not fax test results to doctors other than the one who ordered the test. While K Street accepts walk-ins, I suggest you use the online appointment option through www.labcorp.com, so you don't have to wait long -- especially if your bloodwork is fasting. However, I'd always call the day before to be sure they received your doctor's orders if they were faxed or mailed...as I did. In a word: While its not Chevy Chase, the K Street LabCorp gets three stars, at least today! read more

I don't usually write reviews but this experience was horrendous. Their computer were down and slow which is apparently very common at this location. I waited 40 minutes after inquiring politely on two occasions and finally I asked why the intake person didn't let me know previously since I'd been sitting right in front of her -- "I wasn't paying attention to you" even though there was only one other patient present and at least 3 staffers. At no point was she informative nor did she let me know that their other location 2 blocks away had no wait and a working computer system. read more

It was the worst lab experience I have had in my life. They are rude, unprofessional and not patient centered. I showed up Wednesday for my 8:45 appointment. They didn't take me until 9:03. The rude tech said they couldn't take my blood because the test had to be done before 9am. This of course was not true, but I wasn't able to get my blood drawn. I went back on Friday at 8:20. At 8:45 she said she couldn't read one of the doctors orders so I couldn't get my blood drawn. Fortunately I called my doctor and gave the tech my phone to speak to her. I got my blood drawn by 9:00. It really felt like they enjoyed not helping me. They are on a bizarre power trip. I have never experienced anything like this. They should not be working with patients who need their help. I will never go back there again. I give them ZERO stars. They stink!!!!!! read more
