They run very late even if you have an appointment. It's awful. Zero stars for this hellhole.

Made an appointment, got there 20 minutes early at 8:50 am. They open at 9 am, appointment at 9:10…read more No one showed up to open the clinic or work. Wasted my time. Had to find an alternative, which cost me more.

Hello, I want to…read moretell my story because I hope it will help CVS change its polices and procedures so that in the future other people will avoid the problems I faced. Briefly, after consulting with my doctor about my travel plans and lifestyle, she and I decided on a course of Bexsero, a meningitis B vaccine. Because of the proliferation of vaccines available at pharmacies like CVS, her practice no longer carries Bexsero and she told me to go to a CVS or Walgreens. She even sent a prescription to my regular CVS pharmacy at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, DC. My pharmacy transferred the prescription to the CVS at 6 Dupont Circle because they didn't stock the vaccine, but I was told by that pharmacy that because of my age they could not administer the prescribed vaccine. I was told I needed to go to a CVS Minute Clinic. I made an appointment at the Clinic at 6 Dupont Circle, took time off from work, but was told by the clinician that he didn't care that I had a prescription. He would not administer the prescribed vaccine, although he admitted it was in stock and he had the authority to administer it if he chose. He said I was too old. I pointed out that many people are eligible for the vaccine who are older than the typical age range (and I had a prescription), and he said those people should go see a doctor (which I had already done). I went back to my doctor and she suggested I ask whether CVS would dispense the vaccine to me, so I could take it from the pharmacy to her, and she could administer it. This was amenable to the CVS pharmacist I spoke with. However, to obtain the vaccine in this manner meant it was no longer covered by my insurance. Thus, a vaccine that should have cost me nothing will end up costing me over $500, if I even get it. First, I have yet to actually receive the vaccine from CVS so I don't even know if this suggestion by my doctor will work. Regardless, I will transfer my prescriptions to a nearby nonprofit pharmacy and never, ever, use CVS for any healthcare needs going forward. Multiple CVS pharmacists told me to go to the Minute Clinic, yet the Minute Clinic practitioner at 6 Dupont Circle Washington DC told me to go away. This treatment is not acceptable, and CVS should clarify the circumstances under which it will and will not administer vaccines to its staff so they can correctly inform patients. My experience was truly awful. CVS staff were dismissive, rude, unhelpful, and generally unpleasant. I cannot justify using your pharmacy again. Do better.

All the staff at Price Medical is wonderful. This review is not about the staff but the new administration. Since Washington Health Institute (WHI) took over the cost of a visit has more than tripled! Mind you, nothing has change with my health insurance (same coverage, etc.). Before WHI, a visit was just the $30 co-pay. Now, after the co-pay you get another bill from WHI for an additional $30+. Before WHI, the lab work was done at Quest, no additional charges. Now, they changed to LabCorp and you get another bill from LabCorp for $30+. In summary, a visit to Price Medical before WHI was $30 TOTAL (including lab work at Quest). Now is slightly over $100. All the while the healthcare providers seem more rushed... don't know if that has to do with having to meet a quota.

She prescribed two medicines ( including several other combinations) that should not have been prescribed because I have had approximately 20% drop in my kidney function by taking it. I informed her that I stopped it in August 24 because I was having heart palpitations. She was trying to treat blood pressure and improve kidney function with one medication. I did not pick up one of the medications because it had been red flagged by the pharmacist. He advised me not to take it. My last visit to her in January 2025 lasted for about five minutes of her time. She told me to come back in February in spite of the fact that my blood pressure was now normal because she had honored my request to double the original blood pressure that I have been taking for over 50 years. I missed the February appointment because the cab did not arrive. That was a good thing for me because she then denied my two prescriptions (meanspirited), saying that I had to come in. Meanwhile I had to go to several doctors for other ailments like severe ear infection, wart and muscle spasm--and to the emergency room for elevated blood pressure. I sent her a photo of the reading and she lowered it in her notes. My blood pressure is fine and I am now trying to reverse the kidney function. I complained to George Washington University Primary Care and they were complicit.

When they transitioned to primary care and I had an urgent need to find a new advanced care practitioner, I came here and found Tayler Young, who is excellent. She is patient, thorough and very attentive to her patient's needs and limits. She is now basically our "family doctor". The staff here has also always been very professional, courteous and helpful. I know some are frustrated it's no longer a walk-in clinic, but once you're a patient, it's fairly easy to make appointments, get refills, etc., through MyChart. I would definitely recommend and am happy this place is part of my healthcare team.

However, it pains me to say that the quality of care, professionalism, and overall patient experience have declined significantly over the years. Last month, I had an appointment scheduled for 10:30 a.m. I arrived early, yet I wasn't seen until 1:15 p.m. There were no apologies, no consideration that I am 20 weeks pregnant, and no acknowledgment that I am a working professional who had taken time off from a full-time job. It seemed like none of that mattered. When I was finally seen, I was spoken to in a dismissive manner, as if the inconvenience caused was my fault. When I questioned the delay, I was told that they had patients back-to-back, but isn't that the very reason appointments are scheduled and spaced out? Now, at 24 weeks pregnant, I had an ultrasound scheduled for October 28th. I received a call saying the technician was unavailable and my appointment would need to be rescheduled for October 31st. Today, as I was on my way there, I received another call telling me it had to be rescheduled yet again, now for the second week of November. I also have another ultrasound scheduled around that time, and when I asked for clarification, I was simply told to "check if you still need the prior appointment." This is deeply concerning. Does a hospital not have backup staff or contingency plans in place to ensure patients are seen as scheduled? Does an entire department stop functioning because one person is unavailable? How is it acceptable that one staff member's absence disrupts care for all scheduled patients? It truly makes me question whether GW still takes its patients seriously. Has compassion and quality care become secondary? Are staff members no longer trained to communicate with empathy or handle patient concerns appropriately? It's disappointing to see such a reputable healthcare institution become increasingly careless about those who trust them with their health and well-being.

Doctors that performed the surgery never came back to speak to us. Acute PT got frustrated when we said we would need more than one week for a broken hip and arm, left the room in a huff and quite upset because we needed more long term PT care for an elderly person who couldn't walk nor use a bathroom solo. Nurses hardly ever brought anything that was requested i.e. ice bags, ice water, or juice cups. They left an elderly person with a broken arm to try and open food containers on their own when food was dropped off rather than assist with opening containers so she never really ate much because she had no help. This place is an absolute disaster for elderly patients. Quality of overall patient care was not good and if it wasn't the only place we could go for the complicated surgeries she needed, we would have definitely picked a different hospital.
