My experience today was great! Took a chance and got there 30 mins before my appointment and they called me back within 5 mins of being there. The phlebotomist/nurse that took my blood was extremely nice. I didn't catch her name but she said she usually works in Redondo Beach and was just there for the weekend. I told her I have really bad veins and she kindly used a butterfly needle and immediately found a good one. Her words "It's a good vien! It's just WAY down in there." Ladies at the desk were nice too. Maybe I just had a different experience because I ordered labs from WalkInLab and not through my insurance AND made an appointment for the weekend..?? Regardless, it was a good experience and I would go back. Also, I have to say this because it drives me crazy: Does it REALLY MATTER what the interior design looks like? If you are getting the medical tests/help you want and need, WHY should it matter what the decor looks like? Just stupid. On the forth floor and In the corner, kind of hidden. Very small. Only enough space for the chairs they have against the walls in the waiting room. I've been here a few times already and have had an hour while waiting for results in the waiting room and have been able to observe them. They are not very welcoming. No smiles on any of the techs faces. You need to be the one that greets and starts the convo. No "good morning!" Or "hello, how can i help you?" They talk to eachother with smiles and laughs, but no expression on their faces when talking to their customers. I've been sitting here for 45 minutes today, and already two angry customers slammed the door on their way out due to the fact that LabCorp needs the proper insurance information. I had a 12 30pm appointment, got there at 12. Gave her my paperwork at 12 05pm. Watched 5 other people (who arrived after me) get called in... then the girl peeks her head out around 12 35 asking if I already gave her my paperwork. I said yeah, and my ID. She sits back down, ruffles some papers, and mumbles to herself, "oh, here it is". She processes my paperwork, and I finally get called in at 12 45pm. I visited this location today (arrived 15 min early) for an appointment scheduled 1.5 mos ago. When asked for my form I let them know that this was handled online. I was asked for the form or they couldn't help me. I had digital version and asked if I could email it to them and did so after the staff member taped it on the partition in front of me. With attitude in her tone she mentioned that it would be about another 10 min as they had to wait for it. I was then told to wait outside until called....I mentioned that they should receive it in a minute, but rather than check for email I was told again to go wait outside or in car until called. This didn't happen, so after 30 min I happened to look back in and found they were allowing quite a few others through with later set appointments. I let this lab staff member know that I'd been waiting and hadn't heard anyone call my name and had seen no came out to call anyone by name...nor did they call my cell. This was about 45 min past my scheduled appointment. I was told to go to a room they directed me to and have a seat where I waited about another 5-10 min. The same lab tech approached me with a condescending tone and was prepping herself with attitude (slamming cabinets, huffing) and mentioned something like "you know , we are busy and training people on top of that" and I replied as are we the patients, I myself was on-call and had to get back to my duties but was delayed by the process. In the end, due to the attitudes of the lab staff I opted to leave - not allowing her to draw my blood. I've rescheduled my lab work at a different location where the staff are better prepared for their patients and treat them with courtesy and respect. The staff here definitely needs an in-service program. read more

This place is dirty. For drug tests there's two different restrooms. One in the office and one outside near the elevators. The first restroom in office to your right is not clean at all. The confidential taping is a joke because it's for show. That's the first one I went to. Unfortunately I wasn't ready to go so I had to wait some time and have more water. Once I was ready to go I had to wait for another restroom located outside of the office near the elevators. I was told by a female at the desk to wait for the key. So once the key was returned I noticed she saw me and said I could go but didn't wipe down the key. I asked for gloves and was told they don't give gloves to patients. I asked for sani cloths and it seemed she got annoyed with me asking. With that said she gave a little attitude and said we only have sanitizer. So I wiped down the key stick with it. I'm sorry. Someone just came from the restroom. Who's to say they washed their hands. Do people not know what we've been going through these last couple of years. I was turned away from the fountain valley location because I had no appointment, she gave me a copy off all the facilities that didn't need appointments for drug screening. I went to the Downey location and was greeted by Jessica, she told me that they also do drug screening by appointment only, I was so upset because I just drove 25 miles to get there and was miss informed by the lady in FV. Waste of time coming here!!! I had an appointment at 10:30. I checked in through mobile check in at 10:28, then received a text message at 10:46 to come in, a technician is ready for me and will call my name shortly. I went in and ended up waiting for a whole hour inside, and when I approached the front desk to see how much longer they told me I still have 3 people ahead of me, yet they were seeing people that had later appointment times than me and I was on time! The front desk girl proceeds to tell me they are running a little behind. 1 hour is not a little behind, and again people were being called that came in and checked in after I was already inside waiting. On top of that I'm pregnant, fasting, and getting dizzy standing as they have only 2 chairs to sit in, that were occupied. I left and definitely won't be coming back here again! read more

I have hyperthyroidism, I get my blood drawn every three months so I'm pretty used to it and immune to it. Website says hours are 7-6. I get off work at 5, down the street. I get there at 5:10, and to my surprise it was closed. Sign says completely different hours. I go back next morning at 7:30 when I thought they opened and there was a line out the door and in the hallway. Told it was an hour-hour and a half wait. I get to the window, and they don't even have my order. I came back at 2, on my lunch break. Empty, still took me 45 mins. Chairs are ripped and old. Staff was on their phone, chatting away. My order was in the system, yet they had no record of it. Had to wait for my doctor to fax it over. When I finally got called, the doctor or nurse was not friendly. Didn't make eye contact. This visit was the worst blood drawn I have EVER had. It was so painful. She couldn't find a vein. She thought she found one, didn't and proceeded to try to find one. Moving the very sharp needle around my arm, pulling it in and out and pulling my skin. When she was done, she pressed down on my skin to pull the needle out. She wrapped my arm in the wrap so tight I lost feeling thirty mins later. I know have a bruise on my arm, which I never have had before. My arm is so sore still, two days later. Went to LabCorp today at noon. OMG!!! I was in and out within 15 minutes. And that's without an appointment! Zack, the district manager happened to be there. He's was such a nice and helpful guy. He seemed to really care about the clients as well as the staff. I've read quite a few horrible reviews about this location and it's never been a bad time for me! Sure if you go in 1st thing in the morning it's going to be crowded. Everyone wants to be done early. If you go in with a bad attitude chances are you'll have a bad experience. Plan to wait, then you'll be happy when you get in and out fast. I adore the staff. If you're kind to them, chances are they will be kind back. Came here for a test and didn't even mentioned the wait time nor the fact that they need a lot specimen from you to collect. I had just literally went to the restroom and the lab tech gave me a huge cup right after I used the restroom! Would be nice if they notify the clients about how much specimen will be needing and avoid using restroom. I have been here a couple of times now and just recently they incorporated a new electronic check in system. Patients pretty much check in through an iPad before they are seen. I personally don't have an issue with the new system; however, there are a lot of older patients who are not too familiar with technology. Disappointed by the staff, I took my mother, who is elderly and high risk, to get bloodwork completed for an upcoming appointment with her provider. As with everybody else, we are extra careful and critical with her care whenever we have to leave our house for doctor appointments which cannot be postponed due to her health condition. We always get bloodwork completed here and they close at 4 pm. On the day of her visit we called to confirm they were open and they confirmed, never did they mention they had updated their hours of operation, which would make sense given the current circumstances. Anyway, we found out the day that we went about the change of hours. So we arrive at 3:25 thinking we had plenty of time to spare. The door was closed and before I can knock one of the staff members comes out to clean the door handle and let's me know that they are now closed, I look at the time and let her know that it's not 4:00 yet. She then tells me that they close at 3:30 and to schedule an appointment online for tomorrow. Before I can say anything else she closes the door on us not giving me an opportunity to tell her that my mom shouldn't be out as much because of her condition and only if necessary. I was really upset and I can hear another staff member ask her through the door why didn't she let us in and her response was because it's 3:30 already. People need to be really considerate of others in these hard times, we are all scared and need to be kind to each other more than ever. If I would've been told the time schedule I would've not showed up 5 minutes before closing time. I know the feeling of wanting to go home, but I also wouldn't turn a patient down especially during these times, grocery shopping or retail, yes I would understand but to get blood work? Not acceptable. I had to take my mom the following day putting her at risk once again, every time we go out it's a stressful experience for us because she is so high risk. This experience showed me that the staff doesn't care about the patients. Although it wouldn't be fair to shame all of them, because the times that I have gone some have been extremely nice and respectful to my mom, but this experience during these times was really disappointing. read more

I don't know it the 2.5 hour wait at quest diagnostics across the street wear me out or If the responsibility of the employees really is bellow ground level. We come here after talking to the building across the street (they sent me here with a name of a person they had called) I asked the secretary (or whoever she is, I highly suggest name tags for all employees it makes explaining so much easier) she said she's never heard of that person before. I told her what I needed done she said to take a seat the wait would be around 45 minutes. After the 45 minute wait they come asking for the papers and the reason why we were there (shouldn't they have done that first when we first checked in???) . Oh but it gets better. They finally call in the patients name (my mom) and of course I go in with her to supervise (you can't trust anyone these days and there is power in numbers). She came in for a simple blood panel, one 8.5 ml, and two 4.0ml , it's not that complicated, it's a routine draw that even I, a non-medical student, non medical assistant, non nurse even knows. All the people taking the information so far have been females. The guy who takes us in is a tall male with glasses and light hair (very kind by the way, extremely helpful compared to everyone else in that office) and he let out a big sigh. I'm my mind I thought, ok great something else that's going to make me stay here longer. Sure enough he asks me "has she done her urine test yet?" And I almost banged my head against the wall. This is information the lady should've told us at the beginning or at least before her name was called. We're sitting in the narrow waiting room for almost an hour doing nothing productive when we could've at least taken care of that test and not wasted more time after her name has been called. But this man, I'll try to get his name very professional efficient, and is treating her as he speaks. Spanish isn't his first language but he does speak it, it is understandable and you can tell he does know the proper procedure before treating a patient. Look he's all done! Great job SHAWN! (Or John I couldn't really hear over the screaming kid haha) but he's tall, glasses, thin, and light to fair brown hair. Thank you for the awesome care and for knowing how to do your job right!! I was in yesterday for a new hire drug screening. As I sat waited for my turn as I checked in. There was an elderly man was directed by the front office staff to check in using the iPad. Not all seniors are savvy using today's technology. He stared at the iPad pushing prompts he was so lost and confused. I offered my assistance and I help I'm get checked in. My issue is this office staff assumes why not offer to check them in or educate them how to use. Then finally it was my turn for my new hire drug testing. The tech that assisted me was so robotic. Liz processed my lab paperwork and even handled my name fiasco (married name on id and maiden name than on my insurance) within five min. The blood draw was quick, professional, and painless. The office was not a fancy place and had just the essentials - a row of seats and two sign-in ipads. The staff, particularly Liz, was attentive and quick.
