    Subject: Feedback - Quest Diagnostics Downey Location I visited the Quest location at 11525 Brookshire Ave., Downey, CA on 5/27/25 arriving at 4:14 PM after being unable to schedule an appointment online. I checked in using the kiosk, but at 4:58 PM, a staff member informed me they could not see me due to two patients already being in the back--even though I arrived before the 5:00 PM closing time. I explained I have an upcoming surgery and limited availability due to work, but was still turned away. This was frustrating, especially since access gates close early, making it hard to get help with the kiosk. Suggestions for improvement: * Allow patients who check in before 5:00 PM to be seen. * Keep access gates open until closing for those who need kiosk assistance. * Train staff to better assist and communicate with patients with urgent or time-sensitive needs. Thank you for considering ways to improve the patient experience.

    If I could give negative stars I would, this place Sucks with a capital S. I've been here twice before and both times I had to wait over 2 hours to be told that they probably would be able to get to me before they closed. They strongly encourage you to make an appointment because people with appointments take priority over walk-ins. When I had the appointment I don't know why it takes so long to get to each person? All of the information they need is in the computer and all they have to do is stick the damn stickers on the viles and/or bags. At my old doctors office there was one lady doing the same job and she had you in and out in 5mins. This place has at least 4 people doing the same job. The only reason I have to go to this f***ing place is because the lab at my doctors office needs to hire a technician.

    I scheduled my appointment ahead of time. Well it didn't make one difference what so ever!! So very frustrating , everything is automative . So, once I checked in through their touch screen w/ my code of confirmation for my appointment time of 2:10pm . It did NOT make one difference. There's No staff person , it's just a simple touch screen. Do it yourself. Probably to save money for Quest. I'm no longer going to use this Lab. waiting room is crowded . I would not recommend, even though it close to my home.

    added a person to the top of the ( walk ins) not the appointment list and moved everyone down who were waiting for 3 plus hours.

    They handling of customers needs to be improved because they have people waiting hours to just get a test or turn in test specimen

    They should NOT offer walk-in options if the person will have to wait 3-5hrs.......... It is very inconvenient

    Horrible customer service. They don't care about appointments or elders. Staff is rude! Go to a different location

    These people are extremely rude and unprofessional. A lot of elders dont know how to use the sign in device. Nobody helping them

After 20 min of waiting, I get called to the front desk and they tell me they don't have my lab requests from my doctor. They tell me I can keep my appt as long as my doctor's office, who already sent it back in March (2months ago), will resend it again. Also proceeds to tell me that if I came in 15-30 min prior to my appointment time, I would be seen on time. What logic is that? No where in the email or text confirmation does it state I need to come in earlier than my set appointment time. I call my doc office to resend it, they receive it at labcorp 15min later. They continue to have me wait and after a full hour since my appt, I still have not been called inside. They claim they keep all requests for a year but don't have my record from 2 months ago? When I do get called it, the tech asks if I have already given a urine sample, when I tell her I haven't, nothing happens. She finishes getting my blood samples and then says I can leave. I had to remind her about the urine sample, which is ridiculous! There should be a checking system to ensure they have everything from their patient before moving on. This office needs a better way to handle, organize and manage the patients info and wait time because this is unacceptable! I would be better off going to the one in Long Beach or Quest next time.

At 7:15 I went to the window and told the other receptionist that I had an appointment for 7:15. She said they were behind and were seeing people with 7:00 appointment. After another 30 minutes, they called my name, was not seen for another 15 minutes sitting on the chair. So, what's the point of making an appointment??? Next time, I'll find another lab that at least is more respectful of my time.

After that, I was told there would be an additional wait to have my blood drawn. It's now been 30 minutes, and despite having an appointment, I keep hearing the front desk tell walk-ins and scheduled patients that "the wait is long because we have a lot of walk-ins." Meanwhile, I'm literally watching older gentlemen sit on the floor because there are no seats available, and I'm leaning against a table because there's nowhere else to stand. An older woman next to me said she has an appointment and has already been waiting two hours. This place is horrible. I gave it a second chance, and honestly, I should've trusted my first impression. What makes it worse is how the front desk treats the older patients -- especially those who aren't QR-code savvy. Instead of helping them, they talk to them with zero patience and a dismissive attitude. These are people who need compassion, not condescension. A medical facility should never feel this chaotic, disorganized, or disrespectful. Appointments should mean something, walk-ins shouldn't overrun scheduled times, and no patient -- especially seniors -- should be sitting on the floor because of a lack of space or structure. Completely unacceptable.
