Have been to the Patient Service Center on Brookshire several times over the past years, and most recently on April 2021 Facility/Staff: The medical building has ample parking, and there's lots of street parking available. The facility is on the 4th floor so you'll need to take the elevator, check in and wait for several minutes/hours to be seen. The check-in staff isn't the most cordial or welcoming, but they see 1000's of people a day so bedside manners are not to be expected. 3 of 5 stars The Wait: This facility isn't the most efficient, even when you have an appointment you could wait up to 30 minutes. Prior to COVID, the waiting room would be packed to the brim with over 50 people waiting in the queue. I went this week two times with a 7years old and 1 year old. Doctor want to make sure about the results because they were to high. On Tuesday 14th we waited for about 25 minutes and the phlebotomist were a little bit rude. Today Friday 17th we waited for 2 hours even with appointment. Same phlebotomist assisted us this time with same attitude rude and mad because my 1 year old was yelling. This time I asked the phlebotomist to showed me the tubes with my boys name to make sure. I understand they are shorter of staff, less people it's working, it's holiday season but there were elder people waited over 3 hours, fasting, with diabetes, and any other medical conditions. There were a older lady around 70's she was waited for over 3 and half hours, she was fasting, tired, and any one respond her until many people raised the voice for her. read more

Once I got to the front of the line, I was told walk-ins were not accepted even though the website said they were. There was no signage on the door saying walk-ins weren't accepted either. read more

Finally got in at 9:15 and waited until 9:30 in room for tech then computers went down and waited another 15 minutes and finally took my papers back and had to go to another company. Everyone was apologetic and very courteous but I will not be going back ever!!!! They need to hire some to exclusively. Came in at 8 am on a Monday with an appointment. I was in and out within literally 10 mins. Checked in on the iPad, then was called up to the desk for paperwork. The phlebotomist, Monica called me to the back and drew blood from my arm. She was very nice and had good service skills. She also did not really hurt me when inserting the needle. I've been to Bellflower location and Downey location. From my experience front desk employees at Downey gets and 1 and Bellflower gets a 10. front desk employees are the issue "sassy". The amount of fails this facility had with my short experience here is very suspect, particularly for a medical related practice. I was referred to this facility by my doctor for male fertility testing lab work. At my appointment a phlebotomist named Mark took a blood sample and gave me instructions and a kit to bring in a semen sample back to the facility. Upon bringing a sample back the next day, I was then told that this particular facility does not accept samples for testing male fertility. Why was I instructed by Mark to bring it back to this facility? Why did this facility go through all of the process of taking me in, giving me a cup and instructions, tell me to bring the sample in, then not accept it? Furthermore, I cannot take the sample to another facility at this point because it needs to be delivered in a very short window of time. These types of errors are not acceptable when it comes to medical related practices. The employees at this facility do not even know what services they can and cannot provide; but will still request your bodily fluids only to not examine it and waste everyone's time. read more

I come to this quest for giving my blood to know my results for the past or upcoming appointment with my doctor. The lab location is easy to arrive by driving or any kind of transportation. They are located on the fourth floor. They're wearing the mask and have hand sanitizer to use. They have restroom for lab use. There is a fill out form and you need to sign in or they will sign you in and the wait to be called to provide your insurance card. Now the only downside to this is the wait time. Yes there's people who can come in after you and skip ahead and that's why it's called an appointment. Some people get mad about this as they just think that giving blood for labs is only a walk in and shouldn't have to wait too much, but they actually do. There's a television that has your name along with other people's names and shows you the wait time, but it doesn't get updated more frequently and sometimes you will see your name being like push down or have more increased minutes on waiting to be called. The system needs to have a more updated time of when you will be called or at least to have a real actual time frame as it always says less than ten minutes, but your wait time is real sometimes like around thirty minutes or more. I don't mind waiting as long as they tell me the actual waiting time. I do like this quest diagnostic location as I'm on their system and it's near my doctor as it's minutes away from driving to them. You can't miss the building as it's across from the PIH Hospital and this is inside a tall black building with the word radiology. From the other reviews that I read here might be true from their experiences and as for me I haven't had any issues. I do recommend this place for getting lab work done. The workers are friendly. They are checking your temperature before you go inside unless it gets full. They will make the people exit from the other door so the distance is in effect. Looks like they are doing their job at a good pace. As long as they can get that television clock waiting time to be the actual waiting time, then I would be more content with it. Just a heads up take care of you bill prior to you coming. They will check you, over a 15.00 bill.. I mean paying it no problem. lol so recently I went in for another blood work. Very pleased with today's visit and here's why. I had an afternoon appointment. Would have preferred morning, but I didn't have to fast so that was no big deal. I recommend people find out from their doctor first if they have to fast first instead of relying on Quest to know. Just to be on the safe side because I saw somebody experiencing that issue. I was called right on time. Due to my own doing, I had a copy of the lab work on my phone and the battery was going dead. Patricia who was busy at the time, kindly gave me an email to send it to. Luckily I was able to do this with 2 percent on my phone. When she got the email, some info was missing so I had to call the doctor to fax the work to her. The doctor did and she got the info she needed. I think I was more nervous than Patricia! She was very calm, professional and nice. Never once did she say I'm running out of time or need to reschedule. There was another lady doing blood work I think who was nice too but I didn't get her name. I can tell this place gets busy and I think they do the best they can. Even though this one is not in my neighborhood, I will keep going to this location as I have used it before and never had a problem. read more

What ever you do, make sure you make an appointment first! You can obtain an appointment via the 800 number or the Internet. If not, then be in for a bit of a wait. But the staff is very nice and keep things moving. My phlebotomy tech was very nice. We chatted about our kids as she administered the blood draw which was a good distraction from the bit of pain that always comes with vein-puncture. The tech that did my son's blood draw was quick and my he said it didn't hurt. It went on a Saturday and it was very crowded. I'm sure weekdays are not as hectic (I hope). My appointment was slated for 1:00 p.m., but of course I got super nervous and ended up getting there 30 minutes later. So I was put on the regular waiting list because the receptionist said it would be faster that way. I was kind of confused because there were 6 people waiting in front of me, but that's how fast they were. I cannot remember her name, but the lady who drew my blood was super nice and gentle... I couldn't feel anything at all except a slight prick. And no bruises!! Place was clean too--waiting area, where my blood was drawn, and restroom. I always come here to get my lab work done and usually I have no problem. I make my appointment on line and I come in, check in on the self check out and I'm out of there within 15-20mins MAX! For that I give them the 2 stars! This time I had a very painful experience. It took me a week to write this review because I thought it wasn't a big deal. I went in last Monday at 11:45am. The phlebotomists that helped me seemed new. I had never seen her before, she was in the first room to the right. Young, short dark hair nice not too talkative which I didn't mind. I always look away, because I don't like to see the needles. It hurt when she inserted the needle, but much more when she took it out. I even told her "wow it hurt this time" she didn't say much and I went about my day with some pain on my arm . That night when I showered I noticed I was already BRUISED! Well it's been a full week and a day and my bruise is still SOO DARK! I don't understand why she punctured me on the side of my arm when my veins are pretty clear and big in the middle specially because I'm pregnant. My veins are so visible. QUEST Maybe with this confirmation code you can find out who was the phlebotomist and have a talk with her. I came here this morning at around 8:15am for bloodwork. When the elevator opened at the 4th floor, the narrow corridor is completely crowded with a lot of seniors falling in line almost shoulder to shoulder and unable to practice social distancing. They dont even take your temp first before letting you in. Goodwill, a thrift store does a much better job as they have a staff taking people's temp before letting them in. I was so frustrated and was smart enough to leave even if I fasted, rather than wait in the crowded corridor. I was particularly worried for the seniors waiting in line. The Health Department should look into this lab. read more

We made an online appointment to have our daughter tested on 12/27 at 3pm. We went in a few hours earlier to ask if they had the baby testing tubes since we had gone to 3 other testing labs and they were out. The lady in the front desk has such a nasty attitude. I asked her if they had the baby tubes she looked at me like I was dumb didn't even bother checking in the back to make sure it was Available. An older gentleman asked her for help and she was bothered by it. She started yelling across the room to a lady that didn't have a mask and gave her one. I proceeded to asking her for a mask for my husband since he didn't have one and she refused to give me one. She told me to go ask at the pharmacy which is downstairs. We decided to go wait in the car. I understand masks are not FREE but don't choose who you give them to and who you don't. Yes, the wait time is ridiculous, but being in the medical profession, I know how crazy things can get. My complaint is the LACK of customer service. Being in a medical profession means that you WILL have to deal with patients, young and old, and it doesn't matter how crazy things get, we still have to be patient advocates with as much care as we can give. I was standing in line and was observing the way these people talk to the patients, and I could feel myself getting more and more agitated. It's only Monday, it's not like it's the end of the week where you're ready to get out of there already. I understand Monday's are notorious for being horrible, but these patients don't want to be here getting poked on a Monday morning either. It doesn't help that they're getting attitude from people they're supposed to trust. If you hate your job so much, why do you work here? If you're a grouch at Starbucks, that's fine, but don't be a grouch in a profession that deals with patients. I hope to God I don't turn out like these people when I'm a seasoned nurse.
