Couple of weeks ago my helper picked up my new all day pee test kit! THEY GAVE HER A PEE HAT AND 3 PAPER CUPS,!! What the hell is wrong with them, over and over, same shit different day! So she went back couple of days later gave her everything but the CHEMICAL that needs to go into the jug!!!! I called them twice including main number, NO CALL BACK WHATSOEVER,!! This place looks so sketch and disreputable, I couldn't believe it was a medical service business. Staff was decently (though not overly) friendly, tho as soon as I heard they didn't have my orders yet, I scooted out to go to the one closer to home. Seems like they hire the surliest, patient-unfriendliest employees possible. They don't listen, they don't provide any help, and get annoyed when you try to give them tips for drawing your blood (e.g. veins are a certain way, so it would helpful if you do xyz). Was also sent here for a test - they don't actually offer it, but couldn't tell me if any of their other locations did offer it, and also couldn't tell me if there was a way for me to figure it out - instead told me to ask my doctor to find out where they offer it. read more

REVIEWER # 22 The low reviews are not alarming to me (anymore) but I have to say that I had a way better experience here than in another location. First thing you need to know in advance before arriving here, if you didn't schedule an appointment in advance then the wait time is usually 45-an hour (especially during the weekends). Wise thing to do is book an appointment in advance! Now that we have that out the way; Lets continue on with my experience, shall we? I had an appointment for a Saturday morning and arrived 10 minutes before my appointment. This place is an easy place to miss if you are not looking for it. It blends in with the other houses in the area and doesn't look like lab building. TIP: Look for the signage on the sidewalk (See picture for more information). ANOTHER TIP: Parking is limited on the streets but there is parking in the back. (Small and tight space, but it works). Take advantage of the parking in the back. LOBBY ROOM: Small waiting area with the front desk table facing the lobby. No space for privacy. I walked in and signed in and the first thing the front desk gentleman said was, "If you don't have an appointment the waiting time is 45 min to an hour." Yes, not surprising to me that I didn't get a good morning or any friendly gesture from the front desk. I guess everyone has their own definition of "quality customer service", right? After about 10 minutes of waiting, I was called in to the back. The lovely lady that drew my blood was so refreshing! She welcomed me and apologizes for my wait and stated, "I didn't know you had an appointment". After speaking with the lovely lady (I wish I would have gotten her name) about wait time she stated to me that during the weekends there are only 2 staff and the weekdays there are 4 staff (something to keep in mind). I have to admit, I was shocked that I was being seen so quickly! I spoke with the lady about my previous experience at another LabCorp and let her know that upon my review, I received a call from the District Manager, Marquita, to inquire about my experience at another location. The lovely lady talked great things about the district manager! The district manager manages many of the LabCorp's in the Bay Area and really listens to the customers about their experience. I would definitely be back here at this location if I needed to get blood drawn. Make sure you book an appointment in advance and you shouldn't have any problems with being in and out. Everything went perfect for this past routine blood work. Confirmed an appointment with them about 18 hours before arrival using their quick and seamless online booking engine. Arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time, used their easy self service check in station. Was in the draw room on time. Lady that drew was super fast and efficient. I was out of there in like 3 minutes. Not sure why they get such low ratings, maybe I got lucky?! read more

I had a great experience. Had to have a blood test, and the lady was so quick I hardly felt a thing. Check-in is fast and easy. You scan your ID at the kiosk. If your doctor has sent the order in all the information is pulled up and you're good to go. The staff were amazing. And there are Lab Corp locations in many cities, so it's convenient. read more

Today my husband and I went to Labcorp for our blood tests prior to our regular doctor's appointments. We always go together, and have always gone in to the room at the same time, as there are two chairs, and I need my husband for emotional support. The phlebotomist was extremely rude and condescending. She told me my husband was NOT allowed in the room, even though he was coming in right after me for a blood draw. Then, when I told her she must use a butterfly needle, due to my small and deep veins, she refused! The draw was extremely painful (no butterfly) and when I finished I was shaking uncontrollably. My husband came in, despite the objections of the receptionist, and comforted me. I am nearing my 75th birthday. I KNOW MY BODY. I've had the owner's manual for nearly 3/4 of a century. Years ago, I was a regular blood donor. Being A- I was in high demand. I gave two gallons of blood! In addition, I am extremely afraid of needles, despite my years as a blood donor. I have PTSD and it has worsened over the years. I REFUSE TO UNDERGO ANY MEDICAL EXAM OR PROCEDURE WITHOUT MY HUSBAND'S BEING THERE. In addition, when my husband had his blood draw, it was painful. He NEVER complains about blood tests or injections. Seems Ms. Phlebotomist decided to take her anger out on him. We have always had positive experiences at the Castro Valley Labcorp, but today was deeply upsetting, and unnecessarily. read more

The man that I wrote a previous negative review about was there when I went to my appointment. I thought I would give him another chance when i saw him and he was the only one there. He confronted me about my previous negative review as I was in the blood draw chair. His blood draw technique was painless. I left angry. He told me i just didn't like what he told me on my previous visit and that is why I gave him a bad review. No...i didnt like HOW he told me and I felt unheard. Yes i swore on my way out the door. I'm not too sure why this place got so many negative reviews, I did not have an appointment but I was checked in fairly quickly and out the door within 15 minutes and there were 4 people ahead of me. I was VERY scared coming in because of the phlebotomist horror stories but mine was great. It was a straight shot and it only felt like a small pinch. The only negative thing is the parking lot behind the building is very small, it can only fit about 5-6 cars. read more

Been to this LabCorp station many times, always goes smoothly, almost always quickly on walk-ins in the afternoon. If you can't get there in the afternoon, make an appointment. You can wait in your car, they will phone you. Needle sticks have been 100% on target the first time (my veins are tough), almost painless. The send the the results by e-mail, great. I went to this lab 3 mornings in May. Since I'd never been here before, I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the Yelp reviews. I'm happy to report I had a great experience each time. The registration staff are efficient and friendly, and all three phlebotomists were amazing: no pain, no bleeding and no bruising. Since I arrived before 10:30 each time, the waiting room was full; however, the longest I waited was 15 minutes because, fortunately, I had scheduled an appointment online the day before each visit. Walk-in patients are served in order of arrival, but have to wait for patients with appointments arriving after them. Consequently, I was served ahead of people waiting over 1-1/2 hours. Not a good feeling, but I was glad I had an appointment. If you want faster service, go to www.labcorp.com, enter 94546 to find the Chabot Lab location, then scroll down past the map and click on Schedule An Appointment. BE SURE TO PRINTOUT AND BRING THE APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION. I'm subtracting 1 star because the parking lot behind the lab is insufficient on busy mornings. Street parking is also limited, so if you have an appointment before 11:00, give yourself a little extra time to park. Though parking was mildly inconvenient for me, it could be problematic for elderly patients who drive themselves. There are two disabled parking spaces in front. read more

I HATE to have my blood drawn. My Phlebotomist was awesome! She did it quick, clean, and minimal bruising. After that I cared less about the other things other than my 30 minute wait even though I had an appointment. The decor and the way the building looks will make you run for your life. But...most labs I've been to unfortunately don't look like they belong in no fancy medical magazine. I think if they put up some sort of glass to make the front desk look more confidential would be better. It's a small location so you can practically see and hear all. Hey, it's not the staff's fault if maybe the company doesn't help them spiff up their location. Some of the reviewers said that the people that worked there give attitudes and seem unprofessional. I agree with them on some parts. The people who I saw there looked like unfriendly people even my Phlebotomist whom I saw for a little bit before I knew she was going to be drawing my blood. When she called me back she was actually super nice and friendly with me. Having a good day? This place takes walk-ins but jeez...30 minutes wait even though I had an appointment?! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I had a horrible experience here this past Saturday. I pre-empt this saying I have had the great luck on needing weekly lab tests once a week since I was 8 years old. I also work in the medical industry. I tend to be generally patient in the medical setting, and VERY experienced in what is and is not appropriate/ normal. I arrived to 2 people in the waiting room before me. The phlebotomist had called an older gentleman into the back, while the front desk was helping another patient. I signed in and waited my turn. The gentleman getting his blood drawn finished and was exiting the building when the front desk said "By the way sir, I just wanted to give you a heads up but we were unable to draw your standing order today as it is expired. You will have to contact your doctor to get a new order." The man looked confused but asked why he wasn't told that when he checked in. She replied that she hadn't bothered to check the order before passing it off to the phlebotomist, but noticed as he was leaving. He lingered for awhile, confused as to what to do. He quietly walked outside, upset but saying nothing more. she then called me up to figure out my order. Surprise! I have a standing order as well. I've been in the hospital lately, so I had a million orders in the electronic system. She asked which one I wanted to fulfill, and listed a few doctors names. I selected a name, saying I wasn't sure if that was the dr name but A, B, and C were the tests that needed to be included. If the order had all those tests, then yes, we could use that one. She responded "Yeah, um, well she put in A, but this looks funny, I'll just use this one cause it's the most recent." I told her no, I don't care how it's coded but needed to ensure each test was drawn, otherwise to select another order. She responded again that she couldn't look through all the orders and she was just going to pick that one since it was the most recent. I finally insisted that no, she would not blindly pick and order, and asked that she print out the list of tests ordered so that I could verify them. When she did, I confirmed and we moved on. When called back by the phlebotomist, I asked her quietly and kindly if a manager was onsite. She responded no, did I have a concern? I said yes, the front desk needs some serious training, and could I please get a business card of the manager on my way out. The phlebotomist replied yes, but what was the problem I had with the front desk? I told her she needed some training, as the way she treated me and the previous gentleman regarding standing orders was unacceptable. For chronic patients standing orders are imperative- if they can't be drawn that day, you need to tell the patient before hand, to give them a chance to resolve the situation (maybe call the dr) before being poked. She tried to pass me off as though I was uneducated on the situation, and that standing orders were handled specially. I replied that I have had standing orders for 20 years, I was aware of what is and is not appropriate. I reiterated that I was not trying to start an argument, I just would like a business card upon my exit. The phlebotomist paused for a few moments, then asked if I lived in the area. I figured she was trying to make conversation, and said yes I do. She pressed on, asking if I lived in Castro Valley or Hayward. I asked if there was a reason she was asking. She replied that if I lived in Hayward, maybe I should go to the location there, that I "was supposed to go to." I was shocked, and admittedly lost it. I told her look, no matter the location, that's not how you should treat a patient. It's not good customer service, regardless. She further replied saying "well, on the weekends the staffing is different. This isn't the normal crew that works here." I replied again, I understand, but regardless, it's just not how the situation should be handled. She got upset, saying I was "cussing her out"(I did not use one word) and that she was just trying to explain "how things worked". I shared that In my opinion, she was simply making excuses for a situation that quite frankly, was not a situation needed to be blown up to this proportion anyway. She finished drawing my blood, and I got up and walked away without waiting for her to even tape me up. I was crying by the time I left that room. For the record, a patient with a standing order points to a patient with a chronic problem that needs to be monitored. My labs are literally a matter of life or death. I am a liver transplant recipient, and my tests help indicate whether my anti rejection medications are working, and whether my liver is working. If I am in rejection, I have a small window to get treatment. If I don't, I jeopardize liver failure and needing another transplant. So if a standing order cannot be performed for any reason, I need to know. It's important. And by the way, it's just COMMON FUCKING COURTESY!!!!!! read more

The location can be easily mistaken for a run down home. And it's quite apparent cleanliness is not of importance (neither inside nor outside). Even the wall inside are dirty. As soon as you walk in it smells pretty badly. Not to mention their biohazard containers have NO LIDS. The staff didn't even greet, just said so you got your paperwork. I turn away, and walked out. Very friendly and professional staff had me in and out quickly. Goes down hill from there and all complaints are the result of management decisions and not the excellent work of the local employees. Building in poor maintenance. Dirty. They said they hire a cleaning staff but apparently the lowest bidder. Door as you go in is dirty - bad first impression, didn't make me feel too good about having a health procedure performed there. Overall impression: all the money is going out to the home office, the budget for maintaining the local shop is very small and the top management does not care. They are doing as little as they can get away with. This shows no respect for clients, and detracts from our local quality of life. If this office were in an upscale neighborhood they wouldn't dream of such a poor presentation. Instead of being leaders in providing a shining facility for local clients, management has chosen to do as little as possible. This company is doing well in profits. There's no excuse. I'd prefer to go to a lab that showed more effort in running a top notch well maintained facility. Oh, and if you go in inclement weather, bring an umbrella. Parking is in back, door in front. I'm hoping this review will encourage management to adopt better standards for maintaining facilities. If they are this cheap on maintenance and upkeep, what kinds of corners are they cutting that the staff has to deal with? read more

Understaffed and slower than molasses. Even with an appointment, you will wait for 30 - 45 minutes on average. While the staff are nice, it is obvious that the management has the bottom line $$ in mind with the lack of staff. And, the parking is inadequate and can be dangerous! My husband has an amputated leg and is very hard for him to stand for long periods of time. I went in there yesterday afternoon and was told I needed to come back the next day because it was a fasting blood test. So I went back, I did not have an appointment and was fasting. I had to wait 1 hour 55 minutes. The person who had an appointment waited for 45 minutes. The lady at the front told me afternoons are much better but I had to fast so there was little choice for me. Unfortunately their blood drawing person was half an hour late to work this morning. When she finally got to me she made sure the blood draw was the most painful one i have ever received in a long time. At least she got blood on the first take but it was way painful. I am going to have to talk to my doctor about his choice in labs. If they make you wait so long they need to have a better waiting room! There were little water and few magazines. read more
