My wife and I are just finishing dinner, after a full day of beach, shopping and touring the city. The food is good and the portion sizes are a bit too big. The server saved us from over ordering because we were so hungry we were going to order starters and entres for each of us. The appetizer was enough for 2, the entres were also oversized. I will recommend this as a great shopping stop. read more

Portion size is huge so if you are looking for a quantity over quality, this is a good place for you. It gets very busy after 8pm so pasta gets very undercooked and mediocre sauce... Pizza is just a pizza.. nothing special. Try something local even if you have to pay 1-2 Euro more. read more

Fair warning: this restaurant shares the exact same menu as multiple others in the area (Villa D'este to name one). Without knowing, we ended up eating the exact same food, in two different parts of Nice, two nights in a row. The food was alright, but did not live up to the high recommendations we had heard. 7 of us ordered a variety of pizza and pastas. The pasta salad with avocado and shrimp was a large, good dish. The rigatoni and lasagna were both skillet-baked. We all agreed that the food was good, but not worth coming back for. The service was mediocre. read more

One star is way too much for this place. The food was just OK nothing stands out. What stands out is their extremely rude servers. The entire staff wasn't friendly at all actually. When I asked the sever for a knife to cut my pizza, he tossed one on the table! Not so clean either. read more

My wife and I are from the US and been in France for a week. This place has had the best food and service so far! Menu is in both French and English too! Had the Foccacia and then rigatoni dish with eggplant and ham. Wow. read more

I like when restaurants hit the two Q's on the head! Quality and Quantity! Huge serves with that don't compromise flavour. We had spaghetti seafood and lasagne; everything tasted delicious! Our server was so friendly and genuine who loved to crack a few jokes with us as well. Even if you can't finish the plate, which we couldn't, it's worth a go. Happy eating! read more

I have not been here recently, but I did come here twice while I was in Nice and well.... I've had 2 different experiences. The first time was with a Nice resident. That was wonderful, good food, good service, we went later in the night so it wasn't too busy (no wait to be seated). I cannot remember what we ate, but I do remember it was good and plentiful. The second time was with 2 American tourists. It was a short wait to be seated. The service was not good, almost as if due to the presence of obvious tourists (although French speaking) it wasn't as important for the waiter to do a good job. The food plentiful as before, slightly over priced, but delicious. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is due to the food and the serving sizes. I don't care about service as much as some do, but I don't think I'd ever go here again mostly because there are so many other restaurants to try in Nice. However if you do go, I suggest bringing a local or someone whom has been here before. read more

A server here spilled balsamic sauce on my friend's cloth, but never apologized to her. They showed extremely rude attitudes towards us and it was only us who were treated like that. We were the only people of color in that restaurant then. If you are not white, AVOID this restaurant. What a horror! read more

If you're on "le Cours Saleya", La Voglia is the place to go to eat good italian food and for sure, the restaurant is not kinding about the food. Good prices for excellent quality. I liked this place. I came early (for here at least) and was able to get a table. Probably should have eaten outside instead of inside (a little cooler with the breeze). Food here is delicious but service is unpredictable. This was the first restaurant I tried when I arrived in Nice. The seafood spaghetti was amazing and service was great! The pasta dish I had was so good compared to others here, I had to come back for lunch before my vacation ended. I ordered the same dish :-) Only difference this time was the waiter was rude! I don't know if it's the French way of treating people or if he's having a bad day. Either way, I would come back for the food but not the service. read more

Everything about this place screams BIG when you look at it from the outside. From the elevated position of the diners to the huge bowls with huge mounds of spaghetti. I just had to try it. I could not finish it all and was quite happy. Expensive but I have come to expect that of places in this part of town. Our first dinner at Nice. Not fancy, very crowded, open late, in the main touristy food street. We had Sicilian pizza and tagliatelle salmon. Both were excellent. Nice spicy olive oil. Recommend this place if you are not looking for something fancy. read more

Food was okay, but service was surprisingly rude. At the time of our check arriving, they told us that their network was down and they were unable to take our credit cards. We understood, but then they refused to take our US Dollars (we didn't have enough Euros) even while acknowledging their payment network was down. Restaurant manager sneered and said we should be carrying more euros. While food was ok, the experience was overall not worth it. Would not recommend. read more

Had a pretty good experience! The seafood pasta was good and plentiful. The recommended rosé was very good and only 18EUR for the 750ml bottle. Their pizzas are also good bang for the buck. It's good if you come here around 7-730 to avoid a line at dinner time. read more

We had gone to the Cours Saleya to check out the antiques market on Monday. (DON'T bother with that! The prices are beyond insane!) The browsing ridiculously overpriced junk had left us quite hungry, so we were in that unfortunate position of being famished at the height of the lunch rush in August. Admittedly, not such great planning on our part. The first place we tried to grab lunch was the Irish Pub next door to La Voglia; unfortunately all the outdoor seating was occupied, and the inside smelled last last night's drunk fest. That was out! All the outdoor seating was taken at La Voglia as well, but they were able to seat us inside. The host and servers were quite accommodating of us with a baby sleeping in the stroller, and at the height of the lunch rush all of the waiters were in super high gear running plates out from the kitchen. We ordered a pizza for dad - tasty, heavy on the cheese - always a plus! And the boy and I split a huge plate of spagetti with clams in a white wine sauce. Not the best I've had, but not bad either. All in all, good service, and ok food. (The pizza was better than the pasta.) The portions are big enough to share, and there seemed to be plenty of other appetizing dishes leaving the kitchen, so maybe something else would have been better? read more

The lasagna with meat was amazing! It's the best lasagna I've had in a very long time. We wandered into this place and so happy we did. The food, the ambience of the busy street, a man playing soft jazz under the bridge on his violin and the quick service was great. Stop here for lunch! I'll bet dinner is even better read more

La Voglia had enormous portions and a beautiful location on the Cours Saleya. The dishes are amazing and not terribly priced. The staff made sure that we were comfortable and frequently stopped by (which is rare for European service). The restaurants on Cours Saleya are always busy with tourists, so your choice can be skewed. If you pass by this place, and you are really hungry, sit down and order the Pasta and lobster...you will leave happy. read more

Walking around Old Nice last Sunday morning and just happened to select this Italian restraunt in which to have lunch among the many lining both sides of the wonderful market. The anti-pasta salad was the best ever with a sampling of both Italian and French items. Portion size was volumous for France. Others in my party ordered pasta dishes which both had incredible flavors. We all savored every bite and agreeing that this was the Italian we've had outside of Italy thus far. read more

A lovely restaurant near the market and the promenade des anglais. Our server was excellent, understood our limited French and was able to help us in English. The salads were very good. The pizzas smelled and looked excellent and the desserts were beautiful. The creme caramel at the table next to us was massive. read more

This restaurant is a great place to go if you're looking for a satisfying meal for a good price. I had the caprese pizza (14 euros) and my boyfriend had the seafood pasta (19 euros). Both dishes were very generous and we felt very full after our meal! The food was good but it wasn't out-of-this-world good. Getting a seat on the patio is a great idea if you like to people watch. Show up between 7:00 and 7:30 to avoid the long lineups! read more

This place is a little gem! It might not be a romantic restaurant where you go for a cozy and quiet dinner. But the food is incredible, especially if you pick the gnocchi. They offer huge portions and a good service. I can highly recommend this restaurant. read more
