Our last night and we walked by this restaurant a few times. It's a very attractive space which attractes locals and tourists alike. Walking bybI saw beautiful pizzas and clam and linguini pasta. I already knew what I wanted. We were warmly greeted and seated within a reasonable amount of time upstairs. Our server brought us a bottle of sparkling water and I ordered as expected, a cheese pizza and linguini and classic. The pizza came first and it was wonderful. The crust was just the right thickness and the combination of their house sauce and cheese was very tasty. It's almost like you can taste just how close you are to Italy. The linguini and clams was a huge portion and expertly prepared and presented. The taste was just as I hoped it would be. Absolutely fabulous! Everything was perfect, pasta, sauce, and clams. Wouldnt add a thing. If you don't stop here and keep walking, you missed something special.

Stopped here for a long lunch during our exploration of the Place Masséna. We were well taken care of by a gracious waiter. Portions were generous and delicious. Beef carpaccio Eggplant pizza pizza with anchovies, olives Fresh spaghetti with lobster Fresh eclair - so good Tiramisu I was a bit concerned about not being in a tourist trap- thankfully not the case at Villa d ' Este. We enjoyed all our dishes.

Excellent Italian restaurant near the Place Massena! I enjoyed a salad topped with fresh Parmesan, and my friend had the Margarita pizza. They will also bring olives if requested! The bread was very good, and was served with olive oil. This place was very busy, and the service was decent, but not spectacular. The food was excellent, and I would definitely recommend La Villa d'Este for good Italian food in Nice!

The first night we came here was amazing! We split a pasta and a pizza and both were fantastic. The service was also great and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The second night we came was not as great- however it might be because we ordered the wrong dishes for our taste preferences. I had a Caesar salad and it was smothered in thick dressing, and the fried fish platter was disappointing because there was only one shrimp and lots of sardines (which I do not like). But overall it was packed every night, in a great location and if you stick with pasta and pizza it will be delicious!

    Oven baked lasagna. So good.

I got the lasagna. It was really good. They give you huge portions of food, so big enough to share. My husband got the Ziti with veal meatballs and egg. It was really good as well. He loved his and I loved my lasagna. Our waiter, Axel was really good and nice as well.

    Flavorless steak and salmon pasta.

Very mediocre food and not super authentic. Nice outside seating though--was very full. Overall ok dining experience.

Whilst stuck in Nice recently due to a transport foulup, my partner and I asked our hotel concierge where a good place to go for dinner might be, and with no hesitation at all she pointed us at Villa d'Este. And in doing so provided one of the highlights of our entire trip. Though thoroughly busy and full of diners, the adept team of waiters led us past the huge bowls of mouthwatering looking fresh pizza toppings, quickly located us a table and had us seated within minutes of arriving. The place was buzzing with activity and energy, with birthdays, gatherings of friends, romantic couples dining and casual groups all mingled happily together. About the only point of agony was making a selection from the exciting looking menu - my cannelloni were made of pure happiness, and the margherita pizza was an elegant example of flavoursome perfection. We chose a stunning bottle of Barbera to accompany, however making one single selection from the wine list was another agony of pleasure. As a nice older French gentleman explained to us on the flight over, Nice used to be part of Italy, but was handed over to France in the 1860s in thanks to Napoleon for his support during the Italian war of independence against Austria. As such, he said that Nice is famous for its pizza - it seems a potential card to exploit to squeeze money out of tourists, somehow. I can't help but think that when that kindly-faced French gent described "famous pizza" to us, he might have somehow been thinking of La Villa d'Este. We solemnly vowed to come back the following week when we were back in Nice, and we damn well would have if we hadn't stumbled across the amazing wine bar... but that's another story.

Giagentic plates! I mean it lol... I ordered a lasagna and didnt have tomato souce so I was a bit disappointed but my friend ordered meatballs with penne and was delicious! I Think we were better off ordering one dish to share... Good home red wine and service was average but fast....

They force you to order food for each person, even if not hungry. Also, smallest starter option starts at 13 euros. Very bad experience.

We sat outside on the covered and insulated patio. They also had heat lamps, so it felt ok in February outside. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. My husband ordered the seafood spaghetti which had a light red sauce and seafood including mussels. He really enjoyed it. I had the lightly fried seafood plate. Check my picture for what's on it. The shrimp was slightly over done but still good. The fish and calamari were breaded and seasoned well. I've never had fried sardines (whole body included; I've only had canned sardines in the past) so I wasn't prepared to eat these. I tried it but it wasn't my preference. The salad was nice and fresh. We also enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine. La Voglia was quick and affordable but good.

The restaurant opens at 7pm for dinner and there was a line formed when we arrived around 7:20, very interesting experience for Europe. Living in the US, this restaurant reminds me of a lot of new restaurant group restaurants that just kind of have a system in place. Again, not a bad thing, but not your place if you are looking for something that feels like classic Italy. The portions here are huge, which they are known for. Note that the menu states each person must order an entree, which seems to discourage sharing (since they literally bring you an entire pan). I got the seafood pasta with shrimp and clams in a fresh tomato sauce and my friend got the lasagna. Both were really good dishes and huge portions. We both had a full meal of leftovers for the next day. Not anything I can't get at a good Italian restaurant in the US, but good food. The espresso martini was a good one though!! I think my 3 stars are more about the overall experience here. The food I would give a 4.
