A local butcher that sources it's meat locally and ethically? Yes please!…read more Solo Butcher in Takoma Park rocks! Great sandwiches and they don't use seed oils in their fries (they use beef tallow!) the Philly is one of their best sandwiches and the meat tastes so good and fresh that I'm convinced people are in the back slicing uo the cows.

Decided to visit after hearing a lot of good things from social media. Staff was very chill and…read morepolite, very good vibes. Shared the sir lambcelot and the bulgogi with another. It was very disappointing. The sir lambcelot despite being served a large quantity of lamb, it was dry within the mass of lamb and bland. The only way it was somewhat moist on the surface was the sauce which was nice and tangy but not enough. The top of the sandwich was soggy somehow but it was probably from the heat steaming inside the wrapper. The Bulgogi which i had high hopes was even more disappointing. The sauce, was overly sweet and really really sour. It was as if they took the pickling vinegar used for the cucumbers and dumped it into the sauce. Despite all the sauce, I didn't think meat could be tough and dry. Overall: one sandwich was over seasoned and the other was under seasoned. Both sandwiches were underwhelming and the meats in both of them were dry. I dunno if it was just a bad day but it seems this place is over hyped.

This has been one of my FAVORITE finds, I absolutely fell in love with the Green Goddess chicken…read moresalad handheld. I don't know what they put in it! You can definitely have a different side such as chips or fries as well. The portion is honestly such a GREAT AMOUNT . The coffee is also a great quality and quantity but can you really have ever enough? The staff is veryATTENTIVE with keeping the location CLEAN. Tables tend to be in and out but if you want to chill out as well it's a really nice spot! The area has so many different amazing shops to walk around as well so I highly recommend making time to explore! Thanks Team for the welcoming service! -Tiny

Takoma Bev has become one of our favorite neighborhood spots for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or just…read moremeeting friends for drinks. The avocado toast topped with a perfectly poached egg topped with Japanese black sesame seeds is my go-to order, and the sandwiches are consistently good. Their cocktails are excellent, and the bar side makes a great venue for private parties or larger gatherings. I am apparently in the miniscule minority, but I find the drip coffee a bit too dark and somehow slightly burnt for my taste. Fortunately, they make an outstanding Dirty London Fog and a wonderful London Fog Chai Latte, either of which I'd happily order instead. All manner of alternative "milks" are available as are a pretty decent selection of local beers in their cooler if you are grabbing take out. Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium. In my experience, though, solo diners are often gracious about moving to the communal table when they notice [or more likely are asked polietly if they wouldn't mind moving] a larger group waiting. It's just one more example of the friendly neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
