Upon entering, you start in their little gift shop area - they have tons of really cute things. I was greeted warmly as soon as I came in, and I helped myself to the delicious spa water in the waiting area. My tech came and got me within 10 minutes. I just had a pedicure, but I really enjoy the whole spa vibe. My nail tech was very friendly and did a good job. No spa jets in the pedi bowls; good. I will be a regular and can't wait to try more of their offerings. Customer service is great - the woman who booked me was super friendly and even moved my appointment once with late notice. Maybe I just got a bad masseuse this time, so in that case I highly don't recommend Pam at this location in Livonia. I get to LaVida at 2:10 for my 2:15 appointment on Monday December 23, 2024. I finish their intake form in 1 minute because I sped through the whole thing, not wanting to waste any time. I wasn't picked up from the masseuse till 2:21, please fact check the cameras there to show that accuracy, because I know I'm right about that. Which means, by the time the masseuse is done talking to me and I take off all my clothes and lay in the bed, I'm not getting massaged till 2:30. The whole time I'm in the bed she's telling me that I'm stiff and I need to stretch or my soreness won't go away. I tell her I don't like my armpits touched, and the area right above my butt is always tickly so I don't like that touch either. I tell her both things she gives me attitude both times, saying things like "It's tickly here because it's tight. So you don't want me to massage this?" Like no woman I said what I said don't touch me there. She spends just as much time on my arms and legs as she did on my back.. So what was the point of me even doing the intake form? Not to mention she probably spent a good 15 minutes just putting on lotion, and doing whatever she was doing because it wasn't massaging me. She turns me around, rubs my shoulders for about 2 minutes and then tells me she's done. It's 3:15 on the dot.. I am fully clothed and in the lobby by 3:19. How is it that I pay for a 60 minute massage but I'm fully clothed and out before the time they even brought me to the room. Again, go ahead and watch your cameras and see when I come out back. Check it, please. So not only did you shorten my time, but you didn't do what I asked you to, which was focus on my upper back. They did take off $30, which I will check our bank statements to see, however this was a waste of my time.. I'm not saying don't come here. I'm saying don't come here and get Pam as a masseuse. Let's see if they rectify the situation because this is unacceptable.

I've gotten several Brazillians before from a variety of locations. I have moved a lot, so I am always looking for new places to go. I chose Sylvie's because of its proximity to my home and availability. Unlike other people have said, it is SO easy to get to, and I was able to make a same day appointment! I am leaving for a trip tomorrow and it was important for me to get this service done today. I called Sylvie and she answered and was incredibly accommodating and able to schedule me in for that afternoon. Sylvie's is right off of 12 Mile Road, and the address is clearly labeled on the unit. I found the place with no problem, and was able to walk right in. I was 15 minutes early to my appointment, and she made me feel comfortable as I waited. The room was very clean and very professional. I am shocked to read reviews about Sylvie's negative personality because I did not get that feeling AT ALL. She made me feel very warm and welcome, while maintaining a professional front. While she did the service, we chatted and I found it very interesting to learn about her heritage. She did a fantastic job with the wax and paid attention to detail. I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. I am very happy with the result of my Brazillian wax. Like I said, I have gotten many waxes before from many places and Sylvie's ranks at the top of my list. I look forward to visiting Sylvie's again when I am back in town because she really did an incredible job. I would have no hesitation recommending her to everyone I know. I'm going to start point by point so bear with me: 1. Location- the spa is located off of a residential street in pretty much an attached garage. Not hard to find but, not my idea of a "day spa". The room itself appeared to be clean, but as mentioned before the paper towels and the sheets was just alarming to me. Like paper towels on you bum at a day spa? Im not pretentious but geez 2. Scheduling- Sigh...ok so if you put yourself out there in the land of Groupon you should be prepared for the boom of business..or at least I would think? Scheduling an appointment with this woman was worse than trying to claw my eyes out. No kidding. She was "booked" all the time even 3-4 weeks in advance, she was so far from accommodating. I finally had to play phone tag with her to schedule both appointments, for my last (which was yesterday) I had to slowly explain to her that people work jobs. I work 9-5, no weekendsI'm free on Saturdays. When does she have time to take my business? She seemed annoyed that I wanted to even come back for my 2nd appointment. Because I don't have time to keep going back and forth. I ended up making a 6:30 PM appointment on a Monday. 3. Bedside Manner- excuse us poor American for not being French, Sylvie is such a French nationalist I wonder why she even is living in the US. But I suppose we are good enough to pay her bills and come to this dreadful day spa. She spoke to me about not wanting a "large" man on top of her, why are American's so fat and closed minded against different foods, oh and why won't Obama alleviate her issues paying her school loans? This woman is a nightmare. Waxing is bad enough but her conversation is even more painful. She is so abrasive and rude. 4. Ambiance- there is none. I can't even begin to comment further. In a nutshell, please don't come to this spa. I beg you, even if the groupon deal is amazing. She is literally a nightmare to deal with. I am not even saying this to be mean, but she has to do better. She abuses her clients and will be going out of business if she doesn't change her ways.
