Louie was an excellent driver and made sure he checked us in, seated us and told us how much time we had left. They made a nice effort for their first try at wines other than their Sherry, which they excel in. We mentioned that we have a 1992 Triple Cream Sherry and wondered how they were drinking now, should we open now or can it still sit, etc. Since they had one open in the back, they poured us a little bit and it was still fantastic! Must try the Stella rosa sweet/spicy jam and pasta sauce. There is always a clearance section I like to shop at too. We left with a bunch of cute items and my favorite wine Magdalena cab. Charcuterie is available in a refrigerator as well as imported cheeses, dried pastas and sauces, crackers and other delicious snacks. For more than twelve years, our group has gathered at the Third Street Wine Shop every Wednesday…read morenight. We were first introduced to one another by the previous owners, Mary and Jim, during one of their events--little did we know those introductions would grow into lifelong friendships. Over the years, our Wednesday Wine Nights became a tradition we all cherished. When we learned that the shop was going up for sale, we were understandably nervous. We wondered what would happen if it didn't sell--where would we go? And if it did sell, what if the new owners changed the shop in ways we didn't love? What if we didn't connect with them the way we had with Mary and Jim, who had become family to us? Then it happened, the shop sold. We were introduced to Maria and Veronica, and it was truly love at first meeting. They are two of the kindest, most welcoming women, and they have brought fresh ideas and wonderful energy to the shop. Our Wednesday Wine Nights continue today, and we are grateful to have gained new friends in Maria, Veronica, and their families, who help run this warm, family-operated business. The Third Street Wine Shop remains a place where you are welcomed the moment you walk in--where the owners make you feel like you're their only guests. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
