We enjoyed our experience with La Tagliata! This was our first time having a traditional Italian course meal and we left completely stuffed. The views were amazing. They provide a free shuttle service as well, though you should expect a wait both ways. I completed the contact form on the website to make a reservation and they responded promptly. They provided shuttle service information, the pricing per person, and the drinks and dishes included in the set menu. Pretty much everything was as described besides the payment process. They are cash only, which we didn't know ahead of time, and they were deliberate in mentioning that service was not included in the bill. While the food wasn't the best we had, it was still good and fun to try so many different dishes while watching the sunset. We were surprised that we each got a bottle of wine and were asked if we'd like it corked to take home. I do think the price is justified considering how much food you get, the view, the full bottles of wine, and the shuttle service.

I was recommended here by a friend and decided to give it a try. I saw that it had a lot of good reviews, but it certainly didn't live up to it. The place is very beautiful but unless you are sitting next to the window /edge you won't see the view. The food is okay, i definitely had way better food in Italy. We were seated and given an oral menu, without any knowledge of prices or what to expect. We realized it was a full course meal with different variety. By the third course we were super full and told him we were all set and couldn't eat more. They said you must try. they brought us out the next meal which was a meat platter. We explained to both waiters, that we were very full but that we would love to take it to go. We had a full platter of meat we were too full to enjoy. After paying our bill, I asked for our to go box and the waiter said he must have misunderstood. He said "my fault" and threw away the full platter of meat that was untouched. We paid 180 euros plus tip and didn't get to eat our full meal. The kitchen was closing so we did not get a new meal or our money back not even partial. Nothing at all but a rude waiter saying my bad and walking away. They promised us a shuttle back to our hotel instead put us on a local bus . I would not recommend as I think you could have better food and a better experience anywhere else in Positano.

Views and atmosphere to die for. A full multi course meal at a great price, with a show! The views at sunset were the best I've ever seen. Be sure to bring Dramamine because the taxi ride to this restaurant is very long and windy, but worth it. Service was quick and respectful. A must visit restaurant

Incredible place!! High up on a hill like a treehouse! It was very cold in late April. Family style meals.

This is an amazing property with the nicest staff. Fresh everything. Staff is here 5am getting ready for the day. You can stay on the property is a little bungalow for a cliff side views and a lovely getaway!! Easy to hop on the bus from here and go down to the beach but escape the tourists during the day and come here for the class or a unique view of Positano! Tony and the team will have you never wanting to leave!

This restaurant was recommended by our B&B up the road. It's popular for a reason, so it's suggested to get reservations, however we were able to walk in thankfully. It's a fixed menu with some of the best food and wine I have ever enjoyed. The staff, especially Tony, were incredibly welcoming. If you can make it here, it's food and ambiance you don't want to miss.

Absolutely amazing food, service and atmosphere. It's a farm to table restaurant that offers sit down seating service or a fun cooking class for experience. It's located on top hill of Positano so the views were breathtaking. For about $40/person you have a fixed 5 course meal all freshly prepared. You better come with a huge appetite. A bottle of their wine is even included in your meal. One of the best food I've ever had! Highly recommended

Wow. What an experience. One of the restaurants o the world with a great view and amazing food. There was no menu, yet all the veggies and meat were very good. The pastas were next level, standing above and beyond are the ravioli and gnocchi. Wines flow freely and are from the family vineyard. Service was Amy and accommodating.

Some of these reviews are honestly laughable. Self-proclaimed "foodies" and experts in "authentic Italian cuisine" who somehow miss the very details they claim were hidden. Let's be clear: the set menu and fixed price are stated everywhere--from the moment you book to the reservation confirmation. No one's hiding anything. And to say they "prey" on American tourists? That just wasn't our experience. The shuttle? Seamless. We had a group of five and practically had a private ride. Our driver was kind, punctual, and made the trip even more enjoyable. Now the restaurant: the views were jaw-dropping. We arrived just as the sun was setting--perfection. Our waiter took the time to walk us through the menu (again, very clearly fixed) and was attentive throughout. The food? Genuinely delicious. I've eaten all over--from Tel Aviv to Vienna--and this held its own. The pasta was so good I wanted more. As for the meat tray people complain about? Ours was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The wine wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was perfectly fine. Pro tip: book in advance, aim for the 6 PM hour to catch the golden hour views, and soak in the peaceful vibe. If you're coming to Italy, this place is worth the stop.

The food was way too mediocre to be as expensive as it was. Sorry, but that's the truth. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this meal so much, not only because I was starving, but also because of the outstanding reviews that shower this place. Needless to say I left disappointed. And it wasn't just the food that left a sour taste in my mouth, it was also the fact that the servers clearly prey on American tourists, blatantly hunting them down for tips.

We loved our experience at La Tagliata! My only little negative comment is that we were here on our honeymoon and really did not get a great table (shared a table with another couple at the back of the restaurant). It all worked out in the end, the couple we sat with was very nice, but when you are on your honeymoon you just want a little bit of intimacy especially when you made a reservation. Still, we had a wonderful time here but wanted to mention our experience with seating and our reservation. You seriously cannot find another restaurant that gives you this amount of food for the price. I mean it just kept coming!!! Starting with traditional Italian appetizers like grilled vegetables and mozzarella, eggplant parm, local beans and peas, and then moving on to pasta. Four didn't types of pasta came out! Followed up with a meat platter and finished with a variety of desserts. There is no traditional menu, they just serve what is in season at the time. Do not let that concern you because they do have something for everyone and ask if there are any allergies! This is a family run business with most ingredients sourced from their farm and the entire family is the staff. And they make you feel like you are family! They were always checking in, always refilling your glass and ensuring you are liking the meal. This was such a fun experience and felt like home style cooking at its best. We would certainly return!

We didn't know what to do and happened to find this gem through a last min online search. Definitely not disappointed!!! It was one of my favorite places I visited on my trip to Italy! It's a family style restaurant and their menu is always rotating. The view is amazing, but my tip would be don't try to walk it from the ferry...lots of steps were taken that day, haha (however, I will say lots of beautiful views were enjoyed...we almost gave up so lots of patience is required if you choose this path, haha). The amount of food we got vs the amount we paid was amazing!!! It's also great that they accommodated my friends who are vegetarian too. :) They have their own little farm to freshly pick their veggies from along with a bunch of animals. Their parrot is so cute and also they allow you to walk around the farm too. It's open up to the fresh air and views, which is nice Everyone was so friendly too! Would love to visit again someday

This restaurant was recommended to us and we stopped in after walking the Path of the Gods.... In pouring rain, we were soaked and tired and ready for some lunch. Service was excellent. There is a set menu and the food comes out family style. After the first course, I couldn't believe we were getting more food. I loved the first course because of the variety of options, especially the veggie options. The beans, chickpeas, and fried cheese balls were my favs. The second course was pastas. Homemade noodles. So good. Fav of those was the gnocchi. I didn't have the last course because I was just too full but it was meat and fries. Whatever you want to drink is also included in the meal price. Loved the limoncello and dessert was heavenly. They have a covered patio and since it was raining, that was needed. They even had heaters around to keep guests warm. The view was stunning. Now for some sun!

So happy we did. The bread basket alone was the first indicator - they had such an array of options and all of it was warm and fresh - the focaccia was literally the best I've ever had, it was oily and salty in itself, and so rich to snack on before the food arrived The mozzarella Caprese was so fresh and delicious. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe, the cheese was clearly fresh and highly quality. Only available in Italy like that for sure. I tried the sea bass the first night - amazing. Falls off the fork it's cooked so tenderly, and the lemon sauce, everything was perfect. The second night, i had the lasagna which was also incredible and so visually stunning, just this round pasta in layers of gooey cheese, meat and sauce. On the first night My friend had the seafood pasta wjicj she was raving about, on the second night she had the pasta trio which wasn't worth ordering. Everything else was seriously amazing and the prices weren't insane despite positano being the most expensive leg of the trip. Totally would come back.
