Shrimp empanadas

Ok talk about middle of no where! This cabe restaurant is challenging to find but definitely worth coming here and exploring the grounds and the food! The food was delicious after a long day of trekking the tequila fields. Other than the creepy ducks surrounding the grounds and beautiful mango trees its a beautiful place. I would give this place 5 stars for food and experience but the wait staff was one not welcoming nor attentive to our needs. The girls were really young green in the service industry... but they were fine overall, ignoring request and only taking orders from half our table, deer in the headlight status lol but definitely a good experience here in the cave restaurant. I would have more pics of food but we were starving and didn't catch the moment of the food pics. Oh btw this is where the IG peeps come here and stay in the giant barrel rooms.

The place was hard to find but once there it's beautiful. It's located in a cave. We came for a late dinner. Wait staff was polite and attentive. We got our food and drinks out quickly. We had the kids club sandwich, tamarindo shrimp, gorditas and enchiladas. Everything looked delicious but lacked in flavor except the shrimp. Overall it wasn't terrible. I would give it another shot, hoping it was just an off night for the cook. Three very large tables showed up after us, so I'm sure the pressure was on.

I thought this plate was going to be delicious and unfortunately it wasn't that great. Would definitely recommend getting something else from the menu. They also close the tequila tasting early

The whole experience was awful. We had to park faraway from the restaurant and we were sent down walking a dirt/rock road with no further guidance whatsoever. Once we found our way to the restaurant we waited over 15 minutes after being sit in table for the waiter to take our order for the drinks. Which, to my own surprise, took another 15 minutes to get (we ordered sodas and a lemonade). Once the food finally arrived I was able to enjoy something, even with the overpriced food I committed to not being fully negative about this and at least accept the food was good.

Beautiful underground dining area under the Cofradia tequila distillery. We were brought here by the tequila tour and were really hungry after a few rounds of tequila tastings. The food was something like $200mx for a buffet style lunch that consisted of typical Mexican foods such as braised meats, grilled chicken, etc. The food was very underwhelming, although the live music and the beautiful decor certainly was a good break from other restaurants in the area.

This one is a must-see in the area. Make sure to make your way to the underground restaurant. Beautiful and unique. Yummy food too!

Best in tequila and the margaritas de mango are refreshing!

This place had great service and food. The people all over Guadalajara, in particular tequila are extremely nice. The hospitality makes the food far more enjoyable and appetizing. This place is underground and is very fresh and appealing. 2 thumbs up

On site at La Cofrafia hotel, the restaurant is underground and has a vast menu with food from 5 states. We were hotel guests so the restaurant was very convenient. We were the only ones dining on a Monday night. The dining room is huge and could accommodate 100s of people. I ordered the fajitas and I wouldn't recommend it (dry and no seasoning).

Love the place

We were tired from a long day of travel and our brains were working a little slow. Our server were kind, patient, and offered suggestions but not in an overly pushy kind of way. And the items they suggested were not the MOST expensive on the menu. Our server asked us what we were in the mood for and suggested some dishes for us to share. She was spot on. We started with queso fundido with Spanish sausages and some guacamole with chips. For mains we had the Torta Haogada () and Carne en su Jugo () (traditional tequila beef stew). Both were EXACTLY what we needed after a long travel day. Now the best part, the original and handmade margaritas. . They have a whole variety of specialty margaritas and my little Puerto Rican went a flutter when I saw they had a margarita with guayaba puree. They also had one with Higo flower which is sweet and delicious. Both margaritas were AMAZING. I can't wait to go back and try some more of the food and the drinks.

The carne en su jugo was rich and flavorful. The mole manchamanteles left me speechless. It was such complex flavors that reminded me of Asian cuisine. Let's just say I left that plate spotless. Highly recommended.

We showed up a few minutes after opening, luggage in tow, and were seated almost immediately. When we were sat at our spot, we walked through part of the property and some ruins. The entrance boasted some old wooden furniture and what seemed like a formal dining room complete with (empty) cabinets and barrels used for aging tequila. When we walked through, we saw some ponds (complete with koi and turtles), grassy areas, trees, bridges, and other historic and picturesque scenic views. They also made artesinal tequilas onsite that they offered tastes of. My husband and I opted for two options: Shrimp with rice and salad, as well as a meat dish in some sort of stew. They came with warm tortillas and sauces. We also got 2 glasses of their artesanal tequila. The food came out quickly and was full of flavor. The portions were the perfect size--not too big or small, and the tequila was honestly pretty nice. There were a few additives in the products, but it still went down smoothly. It was a nice relaxing spot, but we didn't go on the cave tour to see the ruins. Since we were pressed for time, we opted to leave. It was a nice setting and enviroment, and seemed to be quite a few people coming in to either enjoy the views or eat at this spot. The restaurant has street parking and there were plenty of spots when we were looking in the area. Can't wait to return for a future visit.

The place is is wall to wall tables and they were all filled when I went. They have table clothes (not fancy, but nice) and fried torillas (like chips, except full rounds) on the table with three kinds of salsa. The service was good and the food came out lightening fast. I am a vegan and I went because Yelp says that it is vegan friendly.... which is hard to find in Guadalajara. I only saw one vegan option, which were potato enchiladas. They were good, but they did not blow me away.

We had cafe de olla and some dishes that made for an amazing brunch. We ordered a plate of Arrachera with tortillas and Bistec Encebollado (steak with onions) with beans. On the same plate we had chicharrones en salsa, a breakfast staple in this city. To balance the heavier dishes we had a Jugo Verde drink made from fresh pineapple and parsley. The staff were so friendly, we felt at home with the kind approach and nice ambiance. The decor is traditional and tasteful, we had such a fun experience. We dream of this breakfast and want to return with our sons soon. Try some amazing food here next time you're in Guadalajara, Jalisico Mexico!
