A pretty fun way to spend an evening in the capital of mariachi music! Casa Bariachi is a huge restaurant and bar with colorful decorations. The food is good, nothing to write home about but not disappointing either, and decently priced considering you're getting free entertainment while enjoying your meal. They have live entertainment in the evening, with folklore dancers first and then mariachi. Lots of props and quite the spectacle. A little complicated to make reservations because you can only make them up to a certain time, which is before the entertainment starts, then you just have to try your luck. My friend and I were seated right against the stage and by the loudspeakers, and it did indeed get pretty loud - as in, over the top loud and impossible to carry a conversation. But I did enjoy the show and watching the crowd having fun.

So, I believe this is designed to be a massive concert hall for live mariachi music. I went for lunch and there was some music but no band. I can imagine this place being a great time at night. The staff y polite and attentive. Valet parking in the city is a plus. We started off with the chicharrón appetizer. Instead of skin, it was lightly battered pork meat over a bed of guacamole. Everyone quite enjoyed this dish. My main course I had shrimp molcajete. They give you plenty of shrimp, the broth is a little on the light side, I guess I was the only nonmexican at the table and they assumed I couldn't handle the heat. My only regret is the menu is quite generic, does not feature any of local classics or and the flavor seems to be more touristy than authentic. Overall a pleasant experience. Stepped in for a quick drink on our last night after dinner. Walking pass this place every night would have been a good spot to actually have dinner. The performers were great and the food looked good. The drink was a little disappointing as in not strong at all but it's alright.

Great atmosphere to chill, eat, drink, and relax. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had three young kids so we sat on the patio. The staff didn't mind our kids moving around our table. The restaurant was very clean and nice. I would highly recommend

I was on a group tour. I ordered a naranjada. It tasted like Tang. The waiter told me it's from concentrate. I couldn't drink it. While it was lunch, there was entertainment including a mariachi and folkloric dancers. My vegetable fajitas were ok. For dessert we had a choice of different cakes. It was great that they were served in individual boxes so we could take it to go. I took to my hotel a delicious lemon cake. The shrimp molcajete was supposedly delicious which is what many of my tour mates ordered. Casa Bariachi is a great place to go for celebrations and the shows.

I popped by our last night at 4:30pm. One may ask what's going on that early? Well, at Casa Bariachi it's live music. Live music is at 3:30 and 9:30 - First hour dancers then mariachi. The guacamole was spicy and good. I also ordered the camarones ajo and it was okay. (Some of the shrimp didn't taste all that fresh.) Strawberry margarita was expected. Is this the best food? No. Are the drinks spectacular? Also no. The mariachi band is fantastic and that makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit.

Food is average -nothing to get excited about. Service is good. Ambiance is casual. People go for the entertainment as they do have good performers and it's definitely a big party kind of place where people celebrate their birthdays and the staff have a fun and lively way to celebrate you.

I went for the 5fth consecutive year to celebrate Valentine's. I regret it big time, I flew from San Diego, and decided to make a reservation for February 14th, and when we got there, there was no table reserved, they added a tiny table in the middle of one large table and a service column, that had dirty dishes and some service stuff. The waitress where walking through a 1ft space and moving our little table every time. I spoke to one of the people in charge and explained our jorney all the way from SD to celebrate Valentine's, his name is JULIO, and he said he was going to find other spot for us (2 people) and he never came back, in the oposite way, he avoided passing by. I am attaching pictures of the spot and the view. NOBODY deserves this kind of service. I am not going back EVER ! I am a big Google contributor with more than 2,640,000 views and I alreday posted my review, to help others when deciding where to go. Thank you.

Best place to spend for our first night in Guadalajara! Live music, great food, amazing drinks! It was super busy because it was a Friday night so there was a wait but they were very accommodating to getting us better seats with a good view of the show. I would definitely come back here to show any new comers because it's a place you wouldn't want to miss!

The ambiance makes this place worth the visit. Mariachis playing all night and playing well! Didn't try much of the food, but the tequila offerings were incredible and the cantarito bowls were out of this world!

First time here and I was very impressed. Ambiance is very nice. Our food was great! Beer was ice cold. Entertainment is incredible! Service was a little bad. It takes a while for your server to return. I will be back next time I'm in town

Food Review: Los Chilaquiles - Guadalajara, Jalisco…read more On my recent visit to Los Chilaquiles, located right in the heart of Guadalajara, I arrived a bit past the traditional breakfast hour, but I was seriously craving some good huevos rancheros and a comforting café de olla. Thankfully, both absolutely hit the spot. Café de olla is a classic Mexican coffee traditionally brewed in a clay pot (olla), infused with cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo--a deep, rich unrefined cane sugar. The result is a warm, aromatic, slightly spiced cup that feels like a hug from Mexico itself. Their version was delicious. To complement it, they offered me conchas con nata, which was such a treat. Conchas are iconic Mexican sweet breads known for their soft, airy interior and crunchy shell-like topping. Nata is the thick, silky cream that forms when fresh milk is gently simmered--rich, smooth, and perfect for spreading. Together, it's a simple but heavenly pairing. Right away, I noticed that the atmosphere of the place feels warm and inviting--relaxed, friendly, and full of that authentic Guadalajara charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly: attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They started me off with a trio of homemade salsas, along with Mexican crema, queso cotija, and a crunchy homemade tostadita. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. As I looked around, I even noticed photos of well-known personalities who have visited, which makes sense--the food and experience truly stand out. Overall, Los Chilaquiles delivered amazing flavors, excellent service, a great atmosphere, and that authentic touch that makes breakfast in Guadalajara unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

It has always delivered a great experience, but unfortunately, today was a disappointment. Our group of four ordered the following: * Panela asada: Excellent. * Empanadas: Excellent. * Churrasco: Very disappointing. The quality of the meat was poor, with too many nerves that made it hard to cut and chew. * Chinchulines: Excellent. * Milanesa: A letdown. The steak was paper-thin, overly dry (reminiscent of beef jerky), and the underside was burnt, making it even harder to cut. We had to request a steak knife to get through it. * Chicken: Excellent. * Desserts: Excellent. The total bill came to $2,900 MXN (about $145 USD) plus tip. By Mexican standards, this is considered a high-end meal, but the quality of certain dishes did not live up to the price. While the restaurant has been a favorite of mine in the past, based on this recent experience, I cannot recommend it.
