Jungleside Dining!
Steve S.

This is one of those places in the GDL that I always try to visit at least once when I'm in town. They offer a great selection of dinner options, from land and sea, and I've never had anything at dinner that I wouldn't order again. And the tableside preparation of salsa and guac is a show in and of itself. But I'm here to talk about the breakfast buffet: OMG! It's amazing. Anything, and I mean literally anything, you'd want for breakfast or brunch is on offer. Eggs, meats, fruits, pastries, tacos, quesadillas, guisados, salsas, you-name-it. All of it freshly prepared. What I appreciate is, despite it being 'buffet' style serving, the staff still provides top notch table service. Never once did my juice, water or coffee go unfilled. Service was exemplary. (And the Cafe de Olla is worth the trip alone!) Dining is "semi-outdoor"; tables are in an inner courtyard, under a huge palapa, or nestled in the trees. All in all, it makes for a terrific dining experience. If you can't tell, I love this place! See you there!

Dia de Los muertos decor so beautiful!!

We were looking for somewhere to go for dinner and came across this place in Yelp. We Ubered there so parking was not an issue for us although it looks like you can park/valet there. First impression when we walked in was wow!! Seemed like we were in a a Lucious tropical jungle!! It was so beautiful and spectacular!! We all ordered the rib eye tacos and they were just ok I felt they could have been seasoned better hence the 4 stars. Service was great and they also have a tequila tasting bar upstairs that is absolutely insane, murals on the ceiling and so may different tequilas!! Overall an amazing experience come check them out!!

Very cool venue. Service was top notch; attentive and not rushed. Our waiter even gave us a tour around after our meal.

All I can say is wow....Best meal I've had in Mexico in four years of traveling to various places. They start by making fresh salsa at the table...I had them make guacamole as well! I ordered a cesar salad with shrimp, and their absolutely bomb ribeye tacos....tacos come out wrapped in a flour tortilla and I added the fresh guacamole and fresh salsa to the tacos for additional flavor....top that with this purple salt they bring out and wow, unbelievable. I dared to ask for dessert and my goodness, their desserts are made in house...I picked the cheesecake as it was literally melting like the best cheesecake I had in San Sebastián last summer....and holy crap, I was instantly back in San Sebastián, Spain. Throw in their unbelievable ambiance (whoever decorated this place deserves an award) and this was one of the best dining experiences I've had. I'll definitely be back.

Ambiance: 5/5: The restaurant is huge! It is very nicely decorated, and it definitely makes you feel like you are in a resort. Service: 3/5: the staff was very friendly, but did have some minor issues. Even though there were plenty of open tables, it took them over 20 minutes to sit us down. When I was about to order my food, I asked my waitress if she could give me her opinion/recommendation between two plates but the answer was she gave me was "thats hard, one is chicken and the other is beef". She didn't say which one was more popular or which one was her favorite. Lastly, we had to wait awhile to get our check. Food: 2/5: The food is beautifully presented, but sadly it was missing flavor/seasoning. The meat had no flavor, and the fideo soup was ok. The cantarito drink was pretty good as well as the agua frescas. Overall, my experience was ok. If I visit Guadalajara again, I dont think I would want to come back. But I'm glad I experienced it.

Brunch

The setting is beautiful. We enjoyed Sunday brunch and the choices were amazing. If you could think of it, it was available.

I will begin with the ambiance 10/10. This restaurant is a museum hands down. Also, you can get a tour by a greeter and don't forget to tip! The food was okay, it was tasty but I ordered the octopus and was given 3 large octopuses .. the maracuya margarita could be a little stronger . And the service 10/10 sweet and welcoming very tentative. I really enjoyed my time at santo coyote

About 25-30 of us came here for a birthday celebration all the way from Chicago. Such a beautiful place. The food was amazing and the service was great. There is a great selection of food items on the buffet. Our waiter brought us several trays of a little bit of everything so we could try it before heading towards the buffet. The salsas were amazing. The ambiance is business casual. I would definitely recommend this establishment and would definitely come back. We went to the other location in Zapopan but I couldn't find it here in Yelp. AV. SANTA MARGARITA 3600 PONIENTE ZAPOPAN, JALISCO MÉXICO

If you're in Guadalajara you definitely have to try this spot at least once! I was visiting my family who live in the city & they recommended Santo Coyote for their all you can eat breakfast buffet. The food there was AMAZING, we stuffed ourselves like crazy. From chilaquiles to omelets to crepes to tacos, all you can imagine they make it for you fresh. It is closer to the touristy pricy side but I think it's well worth it if you go with an appetite. We arrived around 12pm on a Sunday and walked right in with no reservation. The buffet also ends at 2pm btw and they offer their regular menu after. The decor is so exotic & so nice for brunch with friends/family. The servers are very friendly, it does get busy but they were always checking in for our drinks. I recommend the strawberry banana smoothie or chocomilk! This was my second time here & I'll probably go again next visit :)

First time coming here and I loved it!!!! Came here during the evening and the scenery was beautiful, we were attended fairly quickly since it seemed like a slow night but overall the service was great. Food was excellent as well

Amazing spot! Half indoors and half outdoors. We were visiting from California for our birthdays (and also got engaged this weekend!) so we wanted to celebrate and this spot was IT. Beautiful decor, delicious food *chef's kiss*

Sweet minty rum drink with creme - about 14 dollars

This place reminds me of a theme park restaurant or Rainforest Cafe. I came on a weekday, and there was still a wait. They don't take reservations for one person, so I waited about 10 minutes to get a very nice table near the waterfalls. A server greeted me in Spanish, and tried to explain the cocktails menu. I didn't understand Spanish that well, but I tried a rum drink with mint and coconut (14 dollars). It came in a small glass with a nice decoration. It was indeed sweet from the creme and had a minty flavor. The rum was enough for a buzz, but would have loved it to be stronger for 14 dollars. For my entree, I tried the grilled chicken (about 20 dollars). It did take some time to receive it, but I was able to enjoy complimentary chips and salsa made table side. The salsa had a nice spicy kick from the peppers, and I did request it spicy. When the chicken came, it was perfectly grilled. The chicken was tender and juicy and had an excellent grilled flavor. The vegetables were even more flavorful from the grill, and I savored every bite. The portions were more than enough, but the food was so delicious that I ate everything and became quite full. It was indeed excellent quality for a themed restaurant. The service was very good, even with the limited English they knew. They tried to translate as much as they could, and had other workers to help. Some guests were also very nice to translate as well for me since my Spanish was a bit limited. The table side presentation of the salsa was a very nice gesture. The atmosphere is very stunning with the waterfalls and sculptures in the dining area. I enjoyed the sounds of the crashing waters while waiting. There was a mariachi band who took requests, but I didn't take advantage of that. The seating is mostly outdoors and there were quite a few, and most of them are in shaded areas. This restaurant is indeed expensive in Mexico, but serves excellent food in an amazing atmosphere. It is indeed one of my favorites in Mexico, and well with the wait and money. I will definitely visit again much time I am in Guadalajara.

Came here with my family for breakfast. They had everything you could think of. We never felt rushed to get out of there even though we went around taking pictures because the love was so magical. The food was on another level. The chilaquiles were my favorite and the tamales.

Everything was amazing. I know it's just the basics but the fresh made salsa was the most amazing salsa I've ever had.

Food Review: Los Chilaquiles - Guadalajara, Jalisco…read more On my recent visit to Los Chilaquiles, located right in the heart of Guadalajara, I arrived a bit past the traditional breakfast hour, but I was seriously craving some good huevos rancheros and a comforting café de olla. Thankfully, both absolutely hit the spot. Café de olla is a classic Mexican coffee traditionally brewed in a clay pot (olla), infused with cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo--a deep, rich unrefined cane sugar. The result is a warm, aromatic, slightly spiced cup that feels like a hug from Mexico itself. Their version was delicious. To complement it, they offered me conchas con nata, which was such a treat. Conchas are iconic Mexican sweet breads known for their soft, airy interior and crunchy shell-like topping. Nata is the thick, silky cream that forms when fresh milk is gently simmered--rich, smooth, and perfect for spreading. Together, it's a simple but heavenly pairing. Right away, I noticed that the atmosphere of the place feels warm and inviting--relaxed, friendly, and full of that authentic Guadalajara charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly: attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They started me off with a trio of homemade salsas, along with Mexican crema, queso cotija, and a crunchy homemade tostadita. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. As I looked around, I even noticed photos of well-known personalities who have visited, which makes sense--the food and experience truly stand out. Overall, Los Chilaquiles delivered amazing flavors, excellent service, a great atmosphere, and that authentic touch that makes breakfast in Guadalajara unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

It has always delivered a great experience, but unfortunately, today was a disappointment. Our group of four ordered the following: * Panela asada: Excellent. * Empanadas: Excellent. * Churrasco: Very disappointing. The quality of the meat was poor, with too many nerves that made it hard to cut and chew. * Chinchulines: Excellent. * Milanesa: A letdown. The steak was paper-thin, overly dry (reminiscent of beef jerky), and the underside was burnt, making it even harder to cut. We had to request a steak knife to get through it. * Chicken: Excellent. * Desserts: Excellent. The total bill came to $2,900 MXN (about $145 USD) plus tip. By Mexican standards, this is considered a high-end meal, but the quality of certain dishes did not live up to the price. While the restaurant has been a favorite of mine in the past, based on this recent experience, I cannot recommend it.
