We were in Tequila , Mx and saw this place. The place is large and has big fans all over to help keep it cool. Cute sea mural on the wall and the drinks were ok. I guess I'm spoiled at home- L.A. because margaritas have more tequila- ironic since it's called tequila!!! I ordered the fried shrimp platter, I was amazed at how many shrimps were on it. The shrimp was crunchy and tasty the rice was perfect and the watermelon was sweet. The waiter came around a lot and helped with anything we needed. I had quite a bit of tequila and then I got hungry, so I landed here. I also wanted more tequila. My significant other and I walked inside and it seemed quiet. We were seated fairly fast. I was given a complimentary shrimp soup, which was interesting. I didn't care for the taste of it. The complimentary Saladitas were decent. We ordered a Coctelería Con Real Marinero for $70.00 and a Margarita for $70.00. The Coctelería Con Real Marinero was served in a glass. It was strong, but it tasted okay. The Margarita was alright. It wasn't special to me. We got the Órden de Guacamole. It was $70.00. We also got the Fajitas de Pollo for $170.00. The Guacamole was really good and so were the chips it came with. This was definitely worth the price. The Fajitas were cooked nicely and had a nice flavor overall. The whole plate was pretty good. I was given a de la Rosa Milkaramel Sabor Chocolate and a de la Rosa Sabor Vainilla towards the end of our visit. They were both sweet and tasty! The service was good. We ordered the garlic shrimp entree, since we were both craving for it. This dish came with some rice, carrots, and a small salad. Since we weren't allowed to eat at the restaurant during that time, we brought it back to our hotel. The shrimp did have some garlic flavoring, but not enough. Our shuttle driver recommended this place. When we arrived it was just about empty. The service was decent. The food was underwhelming. I ordered a cantarito and it was hot and extremely watered down and it didn't come in an actual cantarito. The best part was the soup we got as an appetizer. Enjoyed our food here. Solid restaurant that's a bit off the beaten path with fresh seafood Mexican options. It's a good alternative to the overpriced restaurants closely that are clearly geared towards tourists. This restaurant is also very tourist focused, but mostly domestic tourism... which is why some locals recommended it. Empanadas are great! Loved the marlin and shrimp ones. Kids ordered hamburgers and tacos. The burger was tasty, but it's no American version. The tacos were not street tacos but fried shells... like "Taco Bell" shaped hard shells. I came here my family who lives in this town recommend it. This place is huge inside! The decor is amazing the best I've seen by far. There is plenty of seating here there must be about 100 tables so it's easy for them to accommodate big parties. The wait staff is very attentive and have excellent customer service skills. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, shrimp ceviche, & fish ceviche. Portions would a good size. They bring you ketchup , crackers,tostadas, & hot sauce. I like that they are not skimpy with their food here like other restaurants. I brought my baby with me and he does not yet eat seafood I ordered vegetables. I asked if they had some vegetables and they must have sent someone to the mercado to buy cauliflower & broccoli. They cooked it right away and my baby loved it. Recommended by locals decided to give this restaurant a try. We ordered a few entrees to try. I ordered the pipian chicken which was good but had better ones. My friend ordered the four cheese chicken which we thought it was going to have different cheeses but it turn more into a milanessa chicken. The camarones sarandeados were very well done and delicious. Our server Vicente was very pleasant and great. We ordered a few margaritas with premium tequila and they were excellent. This is a popular seafood restaurant in Tequila. If you don't get wrangled in to going by a boy who is about 11 while waiting for the tequila bus tour you will. Don't think you're being dragged down the street to be held hostage. He's a good boy who genuinely is trying to make a buck here and there. I have been to this restaurant twice and both times have been very good. The first time was many years ago when Televisa was filming a soap opera drama in town. The restaurant was always busy and the walls was filled with pictures of the actors and actresses. It would have been easy to leave those picture up, but fortunately the owners know when it's to make a change. The restaurant is currently featuring it's marine theme filled with fish and other sea creatures. Before you enter, there is a tequila liquor tasting bar. Meaning there are any number of flavored tequilas that one could image. Feel free to take a swig of Mango or coffee tequila. Once inside, there's plenty of space for large parties and the restaurant typically busy all hours of the day. What to order? Really you can't go wrong with anything ranging from the cocktail de seafood to the whole fish adobo marinated and then fried. Strangely enough I saw a small ramekin of orange sauce and being from Idaho my first thought was fry sauce but how could that be? My curiosity had to be served so I dipped one of the crackers into the mysterious sauce and immediately deduced that it was fry sauce. Surprised yes? But more shocking was seeing my native companions empty three to four ramekins of fry sauce. Ha. I thought to myself. If they ever come to Idaho, I better order extra. My fish was delicious and several fellow diners had extra plates of ceviches and beers. There were ten of us and the bill came to about 100 USD. It was an awesome value. I remember not too long ago being at my local Red a Robin and paying the same amount for a party of 5. So if you are approached by a little boy asking if you want to eat at the Real, take him up on his offer. read more
