    Pork shank malanga

A place for foodies! Lovely colonial decor, professional servers. Las Cibeles Quesodillas like we've never had. Served with a strawberry glaze that sounds odd, but is wonderful. Mango Ceviche is delicate with a small kick - not overpowered with onion or garlic. Pork shank el mangla - unique blend of spices including achiote. Sublimely tender roasted in banana leaves. River Cuale mole lengua (beef tongue) is simmered perfectly. The mole is a very well balanced combination that is not too sweet. Bottom sirloin with coriander and pistachio pesto was a well aged tender cut. Portions were quite large. Easily enough for two people to share. We will put El Sacromonte on our short list in Guadalajara - a city with many great choices!

Hola, from Guadalajara! El Sacromonte restaurant is Superb. Ok, I went here with a classless friend. I don't think he ever been to a classy restaurant before, in his Life, and in it showed. He gobbled down his soup, and threw back his wine like it was a shot. He was acting like a teenager constantly on his phone. I was totally, embarrassed for a man his age to act infantile while dining out. So, now that you know the distraction to the elderly waiter, I only took off 1 point due to the fact we asked for water that after paying the check realized we never got it. A waiter shouldn't ever forget a request. Also, the waiter did pass me the food from the front not the side of me. He caught himself, but I was in awe that a waiter of his age didn't have restaurant etiquette. Now, for the food, I ordered the Goya's Mosaic, it's sliced Salmon set on a Feta cheese like cheese w/ side garnish of parsley, basil & a garlic I think. My crazy friend had the Coyacan Soup, but not what you think remember it's a classy restaurant. It was a small minced preparation placed in the center of the plate & then the waiter poured a creamy wine sauce based soup on top. Oh, I chose a Merlot which went well with both meals. It was delicious; both dishes were. Bread was warm as it should be. Yum! So, if you're in the neighborhood of 1418 Pedro Moderno it's located on the same side adjacent. Oh, they do have Valet, here. So, come out, and have some fun with your special lady. A mature ambiance, where ppl sit back enjoy their meal, drink wine and enjoy their company of friends. I think it's a perfect spot for a 1st date if you're trying to impress the girl. Only if she has class, and isn't only a burger girl. Nothing, wrong with burgers, but like my friend who embarrassed me, and he's just a friend. I'll definitely, go here again, when I'm in town on business again. Superb!

We were delighted to be able to go to dinner after 9 pm as we tend to eat late. The food was good and the service was very attentive, although we were one of only two tables filled. The dining room is beautiful with incredible lighting and other decor. But it's hard to understand how a traditional restaurant such as this stays open with so few diners. I feel that if it was in another town the place would be packed.

The food here was delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the servers were great. I am so upset that I was feeling sick on this day so I couldn't enjoy the full dining experience. However, I tried the chicken with huitlacoche and Chiles en nogada. Both dishes were honestly kind of on the sweet side, so I didn't love that, but other than that the flavors were great. This was my first time trying these traditional ingredients/dishes and I just enjoyed it so much. Also, for the appetizer, I got a salad and the olive and anchovy dressing is out of this world. I want that recipe so badly!!

A portion of the ribeye with pasila chili sauce. The waiter hooked it up and split it three ways.

Perhaps one of the best restaurants I've ever experienced. If you can then you must have lunch or dinner here! It's quite an experience. Not only is the place beautiful, the service is superb and most importantly the dishes are amazing. That's right I said amazing.

While on vacation I visit this new place that came up on my yelp it was only like 15 minutes away from my hotel where I stayed very impressive. This is an upscale little bit more romantic much more older people very quiet and our waiter was quite a young man at heart. He gave us a rundown on things to try it was super amazing it was beautiful and yes romantic. It is sort of hidden weight of its own trees and beautiful flowers I felt like a Villa. We had a wonderful delicious soup that unfortunately I wasn't able to write this wonderful review with the bad Internet service I was having. It was a great experience I definitely have to come back to have other food on the menu.

The food it's nice and it's not expensive, could be a good option if you have enough time and patience. The service takes too much time for everything. Btw... Don't go for desserts, there is not something special.

Very excellent food the flavors is an explosion in your mouth. This place is one of the best restaurants I've tried here in Guadalajara. I love it my hat goes off to the chef

Traditional, charming, historic restaurant in Guadalajara. Their strength is in the mole, the sauces, the way they treat their chiles - burn'em, smok'em, great flavors. Portions are very large, sauces are rich - check out the vegetarian crepe. Service is kind and professional. Go with a big appetite!

Affordable, nice ambience and service. Must try the strawberry and rose petal quesadillas. In september Chile en Nogada is available.

Service is second to none and the food is made with compassion and love. One of the best restaurant experiences I've had as a whole.

If you are in Guad, this is a must try spot! I have been here many times over the past 5+ years and it never disappoints for a well prepared traditional meal in a relaxed setting.

Ribeye... Superb... This is cooked medium.

Food Review: Los Chilaquiles - Guadalajara, Jalisco…read more On my recent visit to Los Chilaquiles, located right in the heart of Guadalajara, I arrived a bit past the traditional breakfast hour, but I was seriously craving some good huevos rancheros and a comforting café de olla. Thankfully, both absolutely hit the spot. Café de olla is a classic Mexican coffee traditionally brewed in a clay pot (olla), infused with cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo--a deep, rich unrefined cane sugar. The result is a warm, aromatic, slightly spiced cup that feels like a hug from Mexico itself. Their version was delicious. To complement it, they offered me conchas con nata, which was such a treat. Conchas are iconic Mexican sweet breads known for their soft, airy interior and crunchy shell-like topping. Nata is the thick, silky cream that forms when fresh milk is gently simmered--rich, smooth, and perfect for spreading. Together, it's a simple but heavenly pairing. Right away, I noticed that the atmosphere of the place feels warm and inviting--relaxed, friendly, and full of that authentic Guadalajara charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly: attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They started me off with a trio of homemade salsas, along with Mexican crema, queso cotija, and a crunchy homemade tostadita. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtful. As I looked around, I even noticed photos of well-known personalities who have visited, which makes sense--the food and experience truly stand out. Overall, Los Chilaquiles delivered amazing flavors, excellent service, a great atmosphere, and that authentic touch that makes breakfast in Guadalajara unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

It has always delivered a great experience, but unfortunately, today was a disappointment. Our group of four ordered the following: * Panela asada: Excellent. * Empanadas: Excellent. * Churrasco: Very disappointing. The quality of the meat was poor, with too many nerves that made it hard to cut and chew. * Chinchulines: Excellent. * Milanesa: A letdown. The steak was paper-thin, overly dry (reminiscent of beef jerky), and the underside was burnt, making it even harder to cut. We had to request a steak knife to get through it. * Chicken: Excellent. * Desserts: Excellent. The total bill came to $2,900 MXN (about $145 USD) plus tip. By Mexican standards, this is considered a high-end meal, but the quality of certain dishes did not live up to the price. While the restaurant has been a favorite of mine in the past, based on this recent experience, I cannot recommend it.
