I was on vacation and decided to stop by because their menu was outside and the menu had coffee. I went here twice because their coffee was so good. They open early I believe it's 8am and they were open. You can eat there or take coffee to go. They had a tv you can watch. The place inside was beautiful and the service was great. The girl that helped me twice was very attentive. The latte I ordered was pretty good. The cost was reasonable $2.50 in dollars I don't think you can beat that anywhere. The coffee was really close the closest you'll get to the states. Overall I had a great experience.

We came here with a large group on a Thursday night. This place is Muy Bonita!! The service is impeccable and the food was delicious! They have a ton of tequila to choose from along with other drinks. Definitely a place to stop while you're in town! Yummy!!!

The best restaurant in Tequila, but hit and miss. Food: We ate at La Antigua Casona three times because we were staying at the Hotel Solar Animas, and the restaurant is located in the hotel. The first time we had a special prix fixe dinner on 12/24 for $100/person. Total disappointment. The prix fixe menu offered only two entrée options: bland overcooked chicken stuffed with black rice and very undercooked tuna. Both disappointing. We tried dinner again and ordered from the normal menu, and the food was much better. Breakfast is good, but the food is not served very hot. Drinks: Good margarita Service: Good service Ambiance: Quasi-classy, sort of old world hacienda style Value: on the expensive side considering the hit and miss quality. Overall cleanliness: above average

This place would get 5 stars but the Christmas Eve fixed menu dropped this place to 4 stars. We ate here 3 times and all times were 4-5 stars but Christmas Eve dinner. This is located in the Hotel Solar de las Animas. It is a lovely restaurant and very clean but can be dark at some tables. The middle has more lighting and as you get closer to edge, it is very dark and hard to read the menu. On Christmas Eve there was a set menu. We arrived a bit late and decided to eat at the hotel. Food 2 stars Christmas Eve: A fixed menu for the evening. We were provided a lovely raspberry drink starter, this was very good and refreshing. The choice of mushroom soup or a cheese starter. I choose the mushroom soup. It was a lovely mushroom and pine nuts at the bottom of the bowl and they poured the mushroom cream on top. While the soup was not piping hot but warm. It had a lovely mild mushroom flavor and the textures of the mushrooms and the roasted pine nuts was a lovely pairing and unique combination that really works. Soup is 5 stars for flavor, 4 stars for not being piping hot. The main dish was either roasted chicken with stuffed black rice or tuna. I got the tuna and my husband got the chicken. The tuna had a crust of nuts and it was slightly seared on the outside and raw in the middle. It was a very generous portion but I would have preferred it to be cooked a bit more, bit too raw in the middle for me. The sear ring should have been another 1/4 inch bigger to be perfect. The medley of baby roasted carrots, beets, and squash was a nice compliment and look, there was a nice hint of citrus in the sauce. Tuna 3 stars. Dessert was a pound cake with lots of sweeter fruit. It was good, but a bit too dense and sweet for me, only ate quarter of the dessert. Dessert 2 stars. This dinner was $100 American per person. For what you get, not worth it. Again we were staying in the hotel and it was late and for convenience, we tried it. I would not recommend it. Food 5 stars regular dinner menu: we decided to try dinner here with their regular menu. We ordered off the Jalisco dishes. My husband got the beef stew and I got the fluatas. My husband beef stew was amazing with a hint of spice in the background. The fluatas were packed with chicken and were super crunchy fried tortilla exterior. It was served side of tomato dipping sauce, but I preferred the hot sauce. The house made hot sauce is spicy and smoky and perfect compliment to the fluatas. I made a taco with the lettuce and cheese and it was so delicious. The tortillas were delicious as well. Wow, this is what was fantastic. Be patient, it did take 25 minutes to have dinner served. Food 4 stars breakfast: we had the huevos rancheros with coffee. The coffee is so delicious, so flavorful. We could not get enough. We were given toast with butter and agave jam and hot sauce. The agave jam is delicious. Not too sweet with a light earthy taste. It tasted like roasted agave from the Jose Cuervo tour and then puréed in a blender, what a neat idea. The eggs were cooked to perfection served on top of a tortilla. The eggs are smothered in tomato sauce. The sauce is good but it really needs hot sauce, we did ask for hot sauce on the side. The hot sauce made this dish. The tortilla were soggy but it worked. The beans were on the cool side. I wish tortilla were served alongside the dish. Every good breakfast and again the coffee was fabulous! Service: excellent service

We came for drinks and they didn't disappoint. All the drinks we had were delicious. We only had appetizers. The guacamole and the queso fundido. The queso fundido with the Spanish sausage was so delicious. That's the best thing I had in my whole trip. It was amazing. The service was great and friendly. I would definitely come back. The place looked really nice and fancy.

This place is beautiful, very nice, clean and classy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I loved their tostadas, I wasn't a big fan of their ceviche or the mole. Mexican generally comes with tortillas, we had for some for the mole and we got a weird look, but they still brought us some. The prices were decent!

It's been a while since I've been inspired enough by a restaurant to leave a review, but La Antigua Casona did it for me. My family and I were visiting my family in Tlaquepaque when we took a trip out to Tequila. After a few hours of roaming around the distilleries, we got hungry and thanks to Yelp! I found this lovely restaurant. From the moment I saw the exterior, I knew it was going to be something special. Upon entering, we didn't have to wait at all and were seated instantly. The interior of the restaurant was breathtaking. It felt like a repurposed hacienda, and the ceiling was made entirely of glass, giving us a beautiful view of the clouds in the sky. As someone who is from the United States and has eaten at a variety of different high-end restaurants, the truth is that there is no hospitality like Mexican hospitality. Our server, Miguel, was truly the highlight of our evening. He took extremely good care of us, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic dinner. We had a total of 7 adults and 1 baby with us in our party, and Miguel was attentive to each of us and our dietary needs. He made some incredible suggestions and some of the entrees we ordered were the Mole Rosa, Mole Mancha Manteles con Pechuga de Pollo, a couple different Quesos Fundidos (chorizo & mushrooms), and the Sopa de Tortilla amongst other dishes. Miguel brought us some freshly-baked bread with a pink color, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which we thought was a beautiful detail. When my Mole Mancha Manteles, I noticed there were slices of banana and pineapple on the plate, and Miguel meticulously explained how the flavors of the fruit and the spices in the mole sauce complimented each other and he was right! I've had various types of mole, and this one made me feel like I was back in my Tia's house, surrounded by family, having a wonderful and filling meal. We had such an amazing experience at La Antigua Casona. The food, the atmosphere, and of course, Miguel's fantastic service made this one of the best parts of our time in Jalisco. My family and I are planning a return trip to Tequila, and making sure go by La Antigua Casona again!

This restaurant is excellent service and food choices. There are traditional plates and non-traditional plates. No worries or concerns if you are traveling from outside the area. This is a really great spot for food if you're on the tequila tours. They drop you off for 2 hours to explore, shop, and eat. The husband and I walked around a bit and had seen another restaurant in the center square that seemed to have a lot of people. But thanks to trusty Yelp I saw that their food wasn't that good. I'm so glad we opted for this place instead. The restaurant is located more towards the back of the temple next to Cafeteria. Once inside they take you to this relaxing and calm courtyard where they have the tables set up. I ordered the fresh tuna on tostadas and the husband had the aguachile with black sauce. For drinks I had a pina colada and the husband had Oj with mineral water. To top the meal off I ordered the Jerillica which is basically their version of crème brûlée but with cinnamon. This was the only thing I didn't really like but the cookie they included was delicious. Anyhow this is a much better place to eat at if in Tequila. Service was superb, ambience was relaxing, and the food tasted fresh and flavorful

So listen up I have really been drinking a lot of tequila in the last 12 hours with my brother in Tequila, Mexico. I am so buzzed with liquor that I forgot to take pictures. So all I can say about this restaurant is they have a slamming fried octopus ceviche oh and the avocado guacamole in Mexico is off the f****** chain and the rest of the food is really good too. What a great weekend with my brother. Did I tell you he speaks fluent Spanish!
