Ribs and Beauty's Sweet Potato Pie

We ordered takeout (DoorDash) tonight. The food was delicious especially the sweet potatoes. We ordered the full rack of ribs, I think they were from a brontosaurus they were so big and they were really good. The beans were really good as was my son's chicken and waffles. We ordered the peach cobbler and it was amazing. We will definitely ordered again.

They have Fried Green Tomatoes this whole time all I wanted was fried green tomatoes! And they were delicious the food was amazing here some of the best soul food I've had in this area they were very accommodating we came with a very very large group and they were patient they took all of our orders and we had no complaints. The staff was very polite the restaurant was very clean it definitely gave you a home feel. If you're looking for soul food and you want to take the family for a casual get-together of good food good service and good fun I recommend this place.

I took my peach cobbler to go and photographed it at home since I was too full from the meal. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it!

The bbq here is better than anywhere else around the area. I ordered a combo with brisket and pulled pork. The pulled pork was only ok. I was impressed with the brisket though. It was later in the evening (around 7PM) and the brisket was still moist and delicious! It had a distinct but not overpowering smokey flavor. The bbq alone would at least make me come back, but everything that went with it is what really makes this place. I ordered fried green tomatoes and collard greens as my side. They were both fantastic. The batter on the tomatoes was probably about the best southern batter I have ever had. I will definitely try something else fried in it such as the catfish next time! The combo also came with a muffin-sized cornbread. It was great. It was not dried out at all and had a very delicious buttery flavor. And last but not least, they have a much larger dessert selection than other bbq places I have been to. Based on recommendations on Yelp I took home their last piece of peach cobbler for the day. It was very good and I highly recommend trying it! They have many items not listed on the menu as well. They let me try the chitterlings! Overall I think the place is good and definitely worth trying. I would recommend trying something different than your typical brisket, ribs, pork, etc as I think that is where this place really stands out.

This place is legit. Everything is made from scratch, no bottled BBQ sauce...etc brisket is tender and tasty, winged come smoked or fried, catfish nuggets are on point. The real hidden gems are the soul rolls...smokey turkey and cabbage stuffed into a soul food take on a Chinese egg roll (absolutely delicious). I'd suggest a sampler platter if you can't make up your mind. The atmosphere is like a real restaurant...not the picnic tabled/faux juke joint that you'd expect at most establishments selling BBQ. Go in...sit down...enjoy the fried okra and wait staff. Pleasantly surprised with the all around experience.

The ribs are GREAT. Tender and juicy. The baked beans are AWESOME; super flavorful. The corn bread is the best corn bread I've had! The Mac and cheese are deliciously cheeeeeesyyyyyyyyy. And the service is THOUGHTFUL!!!!! Come here for killer soul food!!!!!

I am from Shreveport ,la. I ordered the rib plate and shrimp plate. The price was very reasonable and we know good down home food in the boot (Louisiana ). This was my first time at this restaurant. It was recommended by a friend. The people has a good southern hospitality and the take out service was fast. The ribs are tender with a great smoky flavor, just right. The green and potato salad was almost just like home. The shrimp was good even though I prefer corn meal batter. The corn bread was perfect . For dessert I got the peach cobbler , excellent . I will definitely be going there again.

Food is amazing. Rib meat was awesome. Mac n cheese was the real deal. Soul rolls are out of this world. Peach cobbler was unlike any other. Washed down with a big mug of cherry kool aid

LA Soul is authentic. If soul food akin to what you get down south is what you're after, you'll probably be quite satisfied by a visit to LA Soul. It's quite greasy, the flavors are pretty traditional and simple. In my opinion, it's not that the food is terrible, it's just not that great for the price- I ordered the rib dinner and the ribs were decent, sauce was a true southern BBQ- sweet and tangy. The sides were lackluster, I had no desire to finish either the mac&cheese or the green beans. The mac and cheese seemed to have been old and separated, or it just wasn't prepared well to begin with. The green beans reminded me of the kind you get out of a can, not appealing to me personally. The cornbread was okay, it seemed as if it here a bit old because I found it too dry for my liking. it sounds like I'm being picky here, and maybe I am, but that is probably at least in part due to my next point, which is the prices here. Even from the outside you can see that this restaurant isn't much to look at, which is totally fine with me! I actually prefer restaurants that are a little rough around the edges. However I was so shocked when I looked at the menu and found the average entree was between $14-$18. I don't know about you folks, but that's quite a steep price to be paying when I'm sitting in the equivalent of a McDonald's dining room. I will admit that the service on my visit was FANTASTIC, easily some of the best service I've had at a fast casual restaurant like this, and for that reason alone I upped my review one more star. However, I just can't justify the price of this restaurant for the quality of food you get. I ordered a half rack of ribs which came with 2-four oz. sides and a cornbread muffin. (For reference, 4oz is just slightly bigger than a side of salad dressing at most restaurants) The cost of said dinner was $16 and change. For comparison, I can get the same meal at the Proper Pig for $13, Dickey's for $13, even Mabel's for $15. I can't think of a single reason to come here again save for the service however I would recommend this to others if they were looking for truly authentic soul food. TL;DR: great service, expensive for the atmosphere and food quality

Ribs, wings, Mac-n-cheese, yams, cornbread, fried okra, fried green tomatoes- YUM!!

I talked to the owner for a while and she told me how she has worked in a Mexican restaurant in the area for years and was always disappointed that they rarely carry any of these delicious fruit-based snacks that are so popular in Mexico. She was extremely friendly and charismatic and definitely has a passion for this new venture of hers. She offered samples of a few different items off her menu and we decided on an order of bionico. Bionico is a modern Mexican twist on a traditional fruit salad. It gained popularity in the 1990s in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco. Rosita's version contains fresh cut papaya, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, apples and banana. She offered it with toppings of granola, coconut flakes and pecans. Then it is drizzled with a generous portion of a sweet crema. The bionico was so good! It was so much better and more refreshing than the best ice cream you can get in the area. Another person ordered a Piña Loca which is another refreshing fruit-based treat. She also offers some savory snacks such as the Chicharrones Preparados and Ceviche which would go great as a side with some tacos from Taqueria El Paso next door. Everything about this experience was fantastic. The food was fresh and amazingly delicious. The service and enthusiasm for the product was great. I definitely will visit again and suggest that you make some time to try it out as well!

I can honestly say The Blue Door has earned a place among the very best meals I've ever had. What amazed me most wasn't just that every dish was delicious--it was that every single plate had its own identity. Nothing tasted repetitive or safe. Each course was thoughtfully composed with bold flavors, beautiful presentation, and combinations I never would have imagined working together... yet they absolutely did. Beyond the food, every plate looked like a work of art. You could tell the kitchen artists take immense pride in presentation without sacrificing flavor. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. We never felt rushed, and every recommendation was spot on. If someone asked me where to experience one of the best dining experiences in Ohio, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. I'd tell them to drive to The Blue Door in Cuyahoga Falls. There were two of us, and the total for breakfast plus two coffees and tip was more than $70. Portions are huge. Ambiance was nice. Sad it didn't knock it out of the park.
