Good service. Good food. Plenty of parking. Vibe seemed fun enough. Looking forward to trying their lunch specials.

Fried White Fish, delicious!

Delicious food & friendly service. Absolutely love the Fried Whitefish, Yellow Rice, Black Beans with the marinated onions and the olive butter...yum I have had their Cubans which are good and bean soup which is delish!! Can't wait to go back, next time I would like to try the Cuban Fusion Wrap!! Just wish they had table service and better ambiance but will definitely be back for the delicious grub!

I haven't ever tried this quaint lil restaurant before although I'm a huge Cuban food lover. I had time today and stopped in for lunch. The ambience was quiet with nice Latino music, not too loud and a nice touch. A popular lunch spot, plenty of customers dining in and carrying out. I enjoyed the picadilla and yellow rice and the only thing I can say is they use tomato sauce instead of traditional Cuban seasonings. It was different but tasty. The Cuban bread is a yummy side treat! Enjoyed my visit n it's nice to have them in Brandon.

The Taste of Ybor is now in South Hillsborough! To my surprise I was patronizing another shop in the Va Viva plaza and walked over to La Séptima Café! It was a nice refreshing surprise actually because there aren't a lot of cultural cafes in the area let alone a Cuban cultural one brought from Ybor City in Tampa. They have a nice menu from drinks and appetizers to full entres and dessert. On this visit I tried the Pressed Cuban Wrap and yuca fries with a tall glass of sangria! What a delicious lunch! The place isn't fancy but it does have the reminders of the Ybor flavor and feel. I'll definitely be back sometime to try other items on the menu.

La Septima Cafe is a solid go-to in Brandon for Spanish food in a (now) more casual, laid back setting. The pandemic has made an impact on the restaurant industry despite the best efforts of the Governor to keep things open and moving. It's quite evident here at La Septima Cafe. This once bustling, waiter service restaurant is a low-key counter service spot now. The food however, is still fantastic. My wife and I had been here once before during the pandemic. We got to-go food. We were craving Spanish food and didn't want to go to Ybor. We wanted something laid back and casual. The dining room was mostly empty. You walk-in and order at the counter. The young man behind the counter was friendly and explained the new system to us. We placed our order with him and took our number to our table. My wife ordered the Lechon Asado with yellow rice and beans and I ordered the Picadillo Con Papas Fritas with yellow rice and platanos maduros. I also had a bottled beer and my wife had a red sangria. We took a seat and were pretty surprised by the new setting. My wife says this place used to be packed in the evenings. This Saturday night, while we enjoyed the quiet dining experience, was empty. Our food was out pretty quick. The food is served on plastic plates and in styrofoam containers. Pre-packaged plasticware is provided. Simple. Things may have changed in appearance but the food was fantastic. My wife's lechon asado was plentiful and tasty. It came with additional mojo sauce. It was zesty, high quality meat, tender, juicy and just spot on. My wife highly enjoyed it and I was a bit envious. We both had the yellow rice as a side and it was flavorful as well. Rice can be hit or miss but this rice was a hit with me. Topped with the black beans, it was perfect. My Picadillo con Papas Fritas was excellent as well. It had bits of crunchy potatoes on top. A flavorful, rich ground beef in a tomato sauce with capers and olives. Excellent. I also had a side of platanos maduros that came out piping hot and fresh. They hit the spot. La Septima Cafe has changed but don't let that stop you from trying their delicious food. It was nice to enjoy a quiet, simple dinner with high quality, tasty food. Give them a try!

First time customer. Got take out. Called ahead. Order was ready when I arrived. Discount for paying cash Tried the 7th Ave Salad. Heard it was a knock off of Columbia's 1905. It was tasty and full of meat. The salad was hearty enough that I ate two meals off of it. Served with a side of Cuban bread. $13ish

I didn't know about this place until my Yelp friend Tim wrote an awesome detailed review about it…read more It took me a while to try it, but I finally did last year. He was very right. Naida makes some tasty Cuban sandwiches here for a good price. The star of the sandwich is Naida's roast pork. It's well seasoned and it totally makes this sandwich shine. I usually get it with everything, but I keep forgetting that they'll include onions if you ask for it "all the way." It's good with or without it, but I prefer it without. Just keep that in mind and be specific if you don't want onions on your sandwich. Naida also makes the best café con leche. I sometimes go there just for Cuban toast and that awesome coffee. It gives me energy! They have a small hot bar area of daily offerings with some kind of rice and beans. It may change daily. I haven't ordered a platter, but I will one day. They do have a tasty arroz con salchichas side item. My mom used to make it sometimes with those little canned Vienna sausages. Yeah, it's a comfort thing for me. They also make wonderful breakfast sandwiches and ham croquettes. El Cuba Cafe is hidden inside of a Circle K convenience store on Bell Shoals Road. It's directly across the street from Publix at Bloomingdale Square. I know it has Cuba in the name, but their is a lot of Puerto Rican representation here. That may also be why I'm so fond of it. It's also super convenient, and the service is great. I usually drive in the back way to avoid all the construction nearby. There's no dining area. You just order your meal and take it with you. It's a no frills kind of place. A real hidden gem!

Alright y'all, here we go with the official review for Box of Cubans - 10451 Gibsonton Dr…read more First things first -- the customer service? Absolutely loved it The guy at the front was on point the whole time. Even coming in right after the lunch rush, he made sure everything stayed clean and organized while still taking care of customers. That kind of attention to detail does not go unnoticed They were out of the sweet teas (I was hurt a little bit ), but overall the experience was still really good. Now let's get into the food because you already know that's what we're here for The chicken empanadas? Delicious. No complaints. The Cuban sandwich? It was good... but I'm gonna keep it real like I always do. The meat was flavorful, but it could've been more evenly distributed, and it didn't have that crispy bread texture I look for. Overall, it just didn't hit that top-tier level for me. So for this location: 8/10 Still a solid experience, still worth the visit -- but as of right now, the Wesley Chapel location is still holding that 10/10 crown And you already know I'm not done... Valrico, I'm coming next. That's Just How Life Goes... and of course, Just How Food Goes

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.
