Do not waste your time or money going to this place. The food is average at best. The staff are rude and obnoxious. They were open for another 1.5 hours and asked us to leave our table so they could close, after we spent a ridiculous amount of money. Terrible!!!! We caught the ferry from Naples to Sorrento and this is one of the first places right off the pier. After eating in Sorrento itself we caught another quick bite here while we waited for our ferry back. The servers were very friendly and attentive and our food and drinks came quickly. It offers indoor and outdoor seating. Being the middle of July it is extremely hot but they had cooling fans all outside that made it nice and comfortable. We ordered a few dishes, dessert and a very delicious peach iced tea. Rounded off with coffee. I was very satisfied by the taste of each dish. Overall I would say this is a great place to eat and enjoy yourself while waiting for your ferry. read more

The best part about this caffe is its location by the water. The gentleman who greeted us was a bit over-the-top and pushy, but we decided to go in anyway. We were greeted with a small glass of prosecco, which, although a nice touch, was really awful. We also got their house white, which was the first bad house wine we've gotten in our entire time in Italy. Hubby ordered the vegetable soup and said it was nice and hot and very good. I got the creamy onion soup, which was a little bland, and didn't taste like onions at all. We both ordered gnocchi, hubby with shrimp, and me with mussels and clams. Hubby really liked his; mine was just, meh, and oversalted. The service here was really weird. It was like one guy taking all the orders and everyone else standing around waiting to take our plates. If we tried to get their attention, they would just tell the main waiter. I really don't recommend this place, but gave them the 3 stars because Hubby liked his meal. read more

When I returned a dish because tasted disgusting, the owner came to grab me and tell me to go to the kitchen with him to cook it. Was very uncomfortable. He came back 3 times to explain to me how you cook it, why it tasted like it tasted. They didn't wanted us to pay and they wanted us to order more food even though we wanted to leave. I am not sure why there are negative reviews for this restaurant. It is right on the Marina in Sorrento with the most gorgeous view. The wait staff is super friendly and service is superb. I actually came back here several years after first frequenting this restaurant years ago. The salads and fish are really fresh here, so much so that a neighborhood cat would not leave our table until they dealt with it. HAHA! Story goes, Sophia Loren was a local patron. They even have a 'her table was here' with photos...just ask, they love talking about it! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I have never written a negative review before, this is my first. I must say that the staff was out of control. The host was very aggressive and persistent for us to come in, which should of been a red flag. Once we were inside they popped the cork of a bottle right next to one of our guest's ear and the whole restaurant was silent it was unprofessional. The owner (?) which was a middle-aged women was also very unprofessional and very aggressive. She asked us what we wanted to order before we could even sit down which was weird because the place was empty, another huge red flag. She consistently pushed for the most expensive items on the menu, but we politely said no because it was not the food we wanted. The owner was very rude, very pushy, and it made our party uncomfortable. She would consistently make snarky remarks in Italian which I have never experienced in customer service ever before. We left feeling very disappointed and awkward because she made us feel all so uncomfortable. A side from the service: the food was just awful! It was bland had no taste, was not spiced properly and very undercooked. Just horrible. I later read similar reviews, and I regret no doing so before. Do not waste your time. So, we have our ferry ticket, but it's about a half hour before we can queue up. I am DYING for a Coke and my daughter needs coffee. They are ushering us in and I tell them, we have baggage--not emotional--but suitcasey. They don't care. They haul them up steps for us. I tell them not to make a fuss, that we just need a couple of drinks. They don't care. They seat us at a lovely table with a view of the marina--which is beautiful. We get our beverages and relax. Visited this bar when our cruise ship was docked in Sorrento until midnight. There was a music festival going on in the plaza down below (the music festival ended up being a bust- but, not this bar's fault) so we set up camp here. Atmosphere was OK. Drinks were OK. I did have possibly the freshest Strawberry Daquiri I've ever had....it tasted like the ground the strawberries up in the kitchen before they brought it out. We didn't ordered food but we ordered dessert when the server said there was a ricotta cheesecake on the menu. Well, we learned how important it is to figure out where the space was in that item. It was actually a Ricotta Cheese Cake, not a Ricotta Cheesecake. So imagine our surprise when the plate came out with a scoop of ricotta cheese, with an outside layer of fondant. Either way, it was just OK. Just a tip, they don't seem to speak a lot of English here- despite it's close proximity to the port- so just be prepared with your translation app. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would do it. The place is plagued by an exceptionally uncomfortable type which unfortunately is the owner of the place. With screaming and shouting, he makes the place a nuisance for both guests and employees. One of the waiters made a mistake and forgot part of our order. We made aware of it and got our food, which was not good. To compensate for waiting 40 minutes, we were offered a discount of 1 Euro - and furthermore got screamed at like we were imbeciles. In fact, I have never experienced this level of rude treatment and poor service anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. read more

Do not eat here! We came down to the dock to grab a bite to eat while we waited for our boat. When we ordered burgers, the waiter asked "With fries or side salad", I had fries, and my girlfriend chose the salad. The side salad came in a large mixing bowl, no dressing, and a slice of tomato. It was so large, we could only eat one or two bites. When we got the bill, it was 9€ for the salad and 8€ for the fries. These were more expensive than the burgers! We asked the owner about this practice, and he told us that each salad was meant for 3 people. When I asked why he thought we would order two burgers, fries, and a lunch salad for 3, he checked to see if we had paid already, then practically pushed us out of the restaurant. This was by far the the worst experience and service we have had in Italy. If you thought the 5€ tap water was a rip off, you haven't had the 9€ side salad yet. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! If I could give 0 stars I would. To summarize, this restaurant is a complete rip off! Absolutely the worst experience we had in Sorrento. We couldn't believe this place is right by the docks! The staff was disingenuous, and sleazy, they just want too get the most money they can for the crappiest food. My husband wanted the "baby" lobster spaghetti they said they were out of "baby" lobsters and suggested a "regular/adult" lobster and fettuccine (which was double the price, of course) we obliged and what came out was NOT an adult / regular lobster - it was a freakin baby lobster!!! If not a shrimp! -sitting on an abnormally large plate, of "home made fettuccine" (home made? Ya right what else were they lying about?!) my husband made a comment about the "baby" lobster and our waiter just laughed and said "it's the best, enjoy". Mean while, I ordered the mussels and clams tomato risotto which looked like a thick soup with a bunch of empty clam and mussels shells on top, so not much to chew on... little did I know it also came with tiny broken shells mixed in! (If you know what risotto is, imagine tiny broken shells the size of grains blending in a thick soup of rice!) of course I didn't realize the tiny broken shells until I had them lodged in my throat. I removed the top layer of whole-empty clams and mussels, and there they were more broken shells. The entire bowl was a gamble. The shards of shells felt like it was cutting through my esophagus! But what could I say...they wrote us off first with drinks and then the "large" but actually a single shrimp fettuccine, and now of course my risotto I'll say it thousands of times more....
