Nice little spot tucked on a side street with plenty of people watching. I grabbed a medium draft beer and ordered the spaghetti carbonara. Quite a few others around me ordered the lasagna and it looked good and came out quick. My beer was cold and was enjoying the people watching so didn't mind that mine took a little longer to come out. When it did, it was piping hot and delicious. Would try this place again!

Spaghetti bolognese. €9. Huge portion! All right flavor.

I think four stars may be the perfect review for Mannekin Pis. It's a no frills eatery where you the menu photos look like the food and the prices are reasonable. It's not fancy, but that may be just what you need after walking in Sorrento. We sat outside and I ordered the spaghetti bolognese for €9. I was going to get the hamburger and fries platter for €11 but I saw someone else's plate of pasta and just had to get it. Disclaimer: it's a great portion for the price -- I loved it! The pasta didn't blow me away but it was acceptable, especially for the price and portion. I will say that the one retraction is that the water was surprisingly expensive. Yes, you have to pay for water at just about every restaurant in Italy, but we paid €2.50 for a regular-sized bottle of water. Aside from that, service was fine. Nice waitress and waiter. Very casual dining.

The most expensive water of my life

Great location... too bad everything else is awful. Very very expensive for what it actually is and the service is not great either. We all had a small bottle of water which was 2.50€ each. It was just regular size, in no way special, plain water. Then I also had a 6€ ham and cheese toast. The size was slightly larger than a coin (it was actually quite funny to look at), the cheese was a plastic bag, orange slice of cheese and the whole taste had to be tolerated as I was too hungry. An overall poor experience between the bad food, expensive water and staff that ignores you if you dare ask them something. Won't be going back there anytime soon.

Mushroom risotto, yummy!!

Having visited multiple places in Italy and Sicily the last time, this place stood out as one of the favorite spots on our trip. Of course we had to stop by again, and we were not disappointed. When in Sorrento, lemon pasta is a must, but I have the say that the true star was La Genovese pasta, which was recommended by our server. My husband still liked lemon pasta best, which means you really can't go wrong. Their bread was also delicious, particularly the white bread and the breadsticks, and they give you balsamic vinegar and olive oil for it. Considering most of the bread we had in Italy was surprisingly disappointing, it's exciting to eat somewhere that the food is good from start to finish. They also gave us one scoop of limoncello and one scoop of lemon gelato for dessert. Both were delicious, but my favorite was the lemon gelato. This is our second time back, and we would not hesitate to eat here again the next time we're in Sorrento. Servers were also friendly and helpful. The food does take a while, but that goes to show that it all is freshly made. This place is great whether it's for a casual dining experience or for date night. They also have free WiFi, just ask them for the info. I love that it's also a family establishment, and family members work at the restaurant. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here.

My wife had the bolognese, which was a bit bland. Complimentary bread is served with oil & balasamic. They had some type of a loud noise (generator?) going on & off most of the time we were there, which was an ambience killer. Service was adequate.

Busy place but worth the wait…read more Our Airbnb host recommended this restaurant for local food at reasonable prices. Apparently every other Airbnb host did the same because there was quite the line waiting to get inside. We waited about 20 minutes and the line moved quickly. Kudos to the staff who were excellent and interacted well with us both while in line an inside while eating. Everyone seemed so happy here. Once seated we ordered drinks and the stuffed zucchini appetizer. The complimentary bread was on target. Very good. One of us had lasagna, another had the fish, another had the Gorgonzola Ravioli and I had the Gorgonzola Gnocchi. I tried all the dishes and they were all yummy. Very well done and tasty. We shared the Lemon Surprise for dessert and it was sublime. So tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant but be prepared to wait in line for seating.

Although the place was packed, but service was pretty fast. For antipasti we ordered the Prosciutto w/ Melon, Octopus Salad, and Grilled Mixed Vegetable. Meat dish we opted for Pork Escalope w/ Mushroom Sauce, and T-bone Steak. On pasta dish we got the Paccheri with Cod Fish. Everything we had was delicious, tasty grilled veggie, tendered meat, flavorful al dente pasta cooked just right! By the time we finished the waiting line was all the way to the corner of the street! What a great meal, and I definitely recommend it.

We popped in after a long train ride. We ate inside, and enjoyed reading the reviews graffitied all…read moreover the walls. The food was incredible. To start, we had burrata, bruschetta and mixed salad. All were good. The salad was fresh and crunchy (with lettuce, fennel, radicchio, carrot in a light vinaigrette). The sun-dried tomato bruschetta was delicious (with soft cheese, drizzled with honey). The burrata was also amazing (tomatoes tossed in police oil and salt, surrounding a fresh creamy burrata). We had pastas (gnocchi and ravioli fungi) and chicken. I had the ravioli, which was delicate and scrumptious. Everyone enjoyed their meals, though the chicken was very simple. Finally the service! We were greeted with warmth and the service right through was perfect. Thank you!

Every bite was AMAZING. The servers and staff that we came in contact with were wonderful and attentive. The place itself is nicely decorated, and has a very clean bathroom. I like how staff stays by the door to welcome people in, but they don't badger people on the sidewalk to come in like other places. We're thinking of going back even though we only have a night or two left in Sorrento, it was just that good!
