Cocktail menu

Located in the heart of Los Angeles, this restaurant offers a pleasant experience, especially on quieter weekdays. The service and food are commendable, with weekly specials. However, I don't recommend trying their "cocktails" as they are overpriced and don't contain tequila or agave, despite menu claims. I was disappointed to discover that a cocktail listed as containing agave:tequila only featured a sake-infused agave, the only spirit available at the bar. The waiter lacked alcohol knowledge and insisted they contain tequila/agave which is false.

Went for my bday with my family. My wife found the place on instagram. First time there. Service was excellent and so was the food. Nice ambiance. Food was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Charola Ceviche La Mayor

Food is very fresh and they have GREAT days deals. Since we went on Thursday their special for this day is buy one ceviche of your choice ( Fish, Shrimp or mixed ) and second one free. We ordered one mixed and one fish. Of course they charge you the one that cost more and the second one is free. We had two Micheladas they are GOOD! Not to spicy, just right.. The server is very welcoming and friendly. Only thing is that she tends to forget things that you ask for and she will come back and ask you a out three to four times.‍ Over she is very nice and always had a wonderful smile. The music that was playing was good, only two other tables with customers were there, nutbtge seem to be having fun and liking the music as well. The only bad thing about it, is that they don't have parking, you have to park On the street/metro parking. I advise and recommend to download the parking APP. Per Quarters only give you 3 minutes. I would recommend this place.

Look at my fish tacos 3 for $12...LOL And my fish ceviche for $15 with stale tostadas. :-/ Very disappointing.

Authentic food and great ambiance! The music DJ & Las Catrinas never disappoints. The owner invested in his patrons experience, he was very attentive. Will definitely be going back

. . . Oh man . . . Food was great, we ordered a mariscada for 3 people and it comes with so much food !! All tasted fresh and was so good. Also ordered a Paloma in cantarito. Service was good, employees are friendly. It shows on Yelp they have a full bar but they don't only bummer but other than that everyone was good.

Aguachiles Verdes

Excellent all the way around. Very clean, nice atmosphere, excellent service, and food was great. Had the aguachiles verdes, michelada, and chicharrones de pescado - excellent!

The octopus dish was the best I've ever tried. Crowded area so it takes a little effort for parking but it's well worth it.

Long line but worth the wait. One of my "go tos" when in LA. Good hefty servings. Decor very basic with plenty of parking.

From other reviews, the restaurant has parking in the back. * Meal: if you like seafood and KBBQ, look no further! 5 stars. * Service: friendly and pleasant. 4 stars. This restaurant came up on my IG feeds... looks awesome... we were not disappointed! The restaurant does not take reservations online. We came on a weeknight, found a street parking right infront and got seated right away (scored!) They have 4 tower sets: crew set ($109) serving 1-2 persons, chief set ($159.99) serving 3-4, master ($219.99) serving 4-5, captain ($299) serving 5-6. They also have a la carte, hot pot, etc. We had crew set which includes 1.4 lbs Manila clams, 2 whole shell oyster, large clams, shrimps, mussles, scallops, octopus, potatoes, served with korean ceviche, steam egg, pancake, spicy rice cakes, korean noodle soups. There are 3 different dipping sauces which are delicious. It is a lot of food. You definitely get your money worth here. The staff is friendly and attentive. They cooked the seafood at the table. The air ventilator is pretty good but I probably won't wear my must dry-clean clothes to dine here. Overall, Burnin' Shell did live up to its hype!

As for the food let's get into it: - Smoked Trout Dip (9/10) surprisingly one of our favorite dishes, packed a lot of flavor and paired perfect with the crackers. - Sicilian Crudo (10/10) I've had this at other places, but found oyster does it right. Will be adding caviar next time. - Oysters (8/10) prices were reasonable and the oysters themselves were delicious. Wish they had Kumamoto oysters but their selection was more local. - Clam Chowder (7/10) Wasn't terrible, but I prefer a more thicker chowder. Still, at $9 a cup I would give it another try. Overall a great experience. The service was really good especially at the bar. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Back then, they didn't take reservations, but I noticed recently that they started accepting reservations via Resy, so I made a reservation and my husband and I came here in March. Found Oyster is located in East Hollywood, on the same street where Saffy's is. It can be a bit hard to find street parking nearby because of neighborhood rules, but we managed to find a spot after circling a bit. The restaurant is very small, but it has both indoor and outdoor seating. I think the size of it adds to the charm. It also has a nautical theme inside and a New England feel about the place. The seating options inside are either at the bar, or tiny high-top tables. For appetizers, we shared the peel and eat prawns, half a dozen oysters and the sicilian crudo. Everything was good, but the servings were smaller than I expected. I also think that the peel and eat prawns would have been pretty mediocre without the special sauce. For mains, my husband got the lobster roll, while I had the mussels. His lobster roll was good, but in my experience it's hard to go wrong with buttered lobster on bread served with fries. My mussels were fresh and tasty. They were good, but nothing to write home about. Service was friendly and efficient.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Its a busy street so you will find people coming in and out of parking spots most of the time. I enjoyed my experience here at Mariscos Jalisco and will be coming back very soon. We forgot how difficult it can be to find parking in LA, but we managed to find one on the side of the road, just to find out... this restaurant has their own parking lot. Hehe. Went around 5pm and saw we were the first ones seated while a handful of people came and gone for to go orders. I immediately ordered the soy marinated crab and live uni. There is a combo order of both, but it includes the American marinated crab and an extra small live uni. With their recommendation, we opted for the Korean marinated crab and small uni to share with 2 adults and one kid. When the food came out, they gave us another live uni on the house and I was so happy because I didn't want to share mine! The food was so homey and delicious. The seafood pajeon was so loaded with all the seafood bits and the soy bean soup was the perfect palette cleanser. Service was great and they were so helpful to answer any questions we had. They gave us extra water for our little one and refilled our tea when it was a fourth full. They were so tentative and asked how we liked the food. We loved it. We also enjoyed the banchan!

The marinated crab was very delicious, and spicy crab was even better, but the marinated crab is definitely higher quality, so if you want to get the best of both worlds order both or get the combo. When we finished ordering, appetizers came immediately and basically covered the whole table, and as a Korean restaurant with such warm hospitality I assume you can get more side dishes if you want, but we didn't want to waste any food. All dishes tasted great. The uni wasn't very surprising but it's still good, so if you are doing à la carte you can skip it. All in all a 5+ for the restaurant, also the restroom seems pretty clean so it's another plus for this smallish restaurant.

We arrived at about 10am (opening time) and we were able to find a good spot in the private parking lot. There were at least 10 other people that must've had the same idea and show up early to beat the traffic. We opted for the grilled halibut and seabass dishes with garlic bread, rice, salad, and ceviche. Even though it was a little cool from the rainy weather, it was still nice enough to eat outside in an enclosed patio with electric heaters. They also have two restroom facilities for any bathroom needs. The main area where we ordered was also where we picked up our orders. We also had the option to call ahead and place orders for pick up/to go. Those were processed in the Seafood Market section (where they had different fresh fish and seafood options). The food was pretty good--opted for garlic butter sauce for the fish and it was the perfect complement to the halibut, but the sea bass was honestly so tender that it needed no sauce. The salad and dressing were as expected. Same with the rice. All of these portions were pretty big. The garlic bread was also pretty tasty and a juge portion, but the ceviche, although good, was a smaller portion than expected. It was fresh and quite flavorful and came with a side of chips. The food was delicious, environment was nice, and we came across others that made the trek out early to enjoy the food at this spot. Will definitely visit again in the future.
