I've been living in DTLA for a few years now and had never been to cilantro lime before, so I was glad I did and it certainly won't be my last. Whenever I want to start my day off well, I love to have a nice stacked breakfast burrito with all the right ingredients. They didn't disappoint. A friend of mine ordered the street tacos, which looked twice the size of food truck tacos, but they had a cheesy outer layer to give it a nice crunch! That's definitely something I would want to try next time. If you're not looking for it intentionally, you might miss the food court inside a building on Los Angeles St. bordering the fashion district. There are also two other food stalls worth noting. As a whole, the burrito was great, it came out fast, and the food court was clean and well maintained with friendly servers. Definitely give them a try when you're in this area!! read more

Tasty catered lunch... now I'm on the hunt for their brick-and-mortar. These folks catered lunch at my office and brought an impressive spread of burritos, bowls, and salad bowls. I built a bowl with refried beans, rice, and beef, then loaded it up with pico de gallo, avocado, and their green sauce. The real surprise? The homemade chips on the side. I ate my bowl like it was fully loaded nachos... super satisfying and seriously flavorful. I've never spotted one of their locations in person, but if I do, I'm definitely stopping in. read more

I am vegan so I got the potato soyrizo taco place with rice and beans, it was delicious! My sister in law got the birria taco special which she also enjoyed. I honestly wish this place had its own location because I think they'd explode their business. They have good social media and that's how most people find themselves in this oddly hidden food court; seriously, you'd never just stumble upon this place. With their quality food, great hidden menu (most of them are the social media darlings) and top notch customer service I know they'd excel out on their own. The Birria pizza and Birria breakfast muffin are so good and filling, but I've not had one thing on their menu. I didn't enjoy. Came here on Thursday after walking around Santee Alley, my friend and I saw a post of this location on instagram and immediately thought of coming here. Don't let their location fool you! Yes it's located right in the "food court" of Santee Alley. Hole in the wall you'd say. Yes! But don't let that stop you! Looking at yelp prior to going I would have never thought it was a food court spot I was fooled I thought it was a stand alone restaurant lol. Especially their "for here" eating plates. We did Togo. They load their tacos up with protein and their carne asada fries. Everything tasted fresh and not greasy or overwhelming. They had a habanero salsa that I loved. I like spice!!! Side note: keep your receipt if you decide to use the food courts restroom. They have a facility lady waiting to collect a dollar from You to use the bathrooms if you're not a dinning customer. This hidden gem is located inside of a food court. I've been here a handful of times and I'm never disappointed. My usual order are the Chicken Tinga Flautas which can be shared. The flavor is phenomenal and pairs extremely well with all of their house salas. They also include some complimentary chips. Today I tried the Chicken Tinga Grilled Cheese and I was amazed. They use a Texas Toast and even wrap it in cheese for a nice crunch. The cheese pull was real and I highly recommend trying it. My brother always orders the Birria and he absolutely loves it. Ordered: DTLA Famous Burnt Cheese Quesadilla (with added asada) There's no plaza parking and it's super hard to find parking but we found it on the street! Gotta pay for it though. It's inside a 'food court' and there's a sign outside featuring all the restaurants that's inside the court. You'll see cilantro lime on the sign, that's how you know you're at the right place. There's so much seating and you order up front and sit down, and they'll bring your food to you! The presentation was amazing, it looked so pretty and I've never seen the burnt cheese like that on a quesadilla before. The asada paired super well with the cheese, and was very flavorful. What I loved doing was biting a little piece of the burnt cheese off (super crunchy, not actually burnt, still delicious and edible), and then bite some of the quesadilla. Tasted the best. The staff here is what makes this place so great - so friendly and happy! I had an order of the Famous Tinga Flautas and a Burnt Cheese Taco. The flautas had a crispy exterior and was filled with shredded chicken + topped with crema, pico de gallo, cheese, and cilantro. The cheese taco is exactly what you would expect! I ordered the shredded chicken wet burrito and was not disappointed. The sauces on top were super flavorful and had a spicy kick to it. The filling was delicious; lots of chicken. It wasn't the type of burrito which is usually filled with rice. Score! The hubby was torn on what to eat as there were several items on the menu that he wanted to try out. I have to say that the staff here is so ridiculously gracious and kind. I was greeted with a very warm welcome. I ordered the street tacos and they were so good. The chips are pretty oily just the way I like chips (because if you enjoy eating dry chips, you're not my kind of people). I got extra rice on my plate no beans because I'm not a fan of beans, and the rice is SO good. It's not like typical mexican rice that tastes like someone just threw together rice and tomato but it is flavorful perfectly oiled while not being too dry or mushy. The texture of the rice remained clean. I also tried their strawberry lemonade and it was super refreshing!! It was more sweet than sour which is what I prefer. My food was ready in 5ish minutes and came out piping hot! Burrito had rice, meat (I think it was chicken), nicely melted cheese, and green peppers definitely a 100/10 burrito!
