Call me crazy but something about their crunchy bottom plain pizzas that have me coming and craving for more! Packaging was well done, no mess or overly oily pizza. Don't sleep on this place! I've only ordered delivery so can't comment on their in store service or ambiance. read more

First Impressions: after our Christmas pre-order of artichoke basille pizza fell through... we ordered delivery from La Rustica for our Christmas potluck at work, which was surprisingly open on Christmas Day and they delivered in 20 mins from the time we submitted our order to the delivery being handed over The Noms: Margarita pizza was good. The tomato's were kinda chunked on instead of being spread out in a more uniform layer, but overall good Cheese pizza was as expected, hard to mess up a cheese pizza. I liked that the crust was as thin as the margarita Spinach Alfredo pizza with artichoke hearts - AWFUL! The spinach was in huge globs and tasted like the block of frozen spinach you can get at the market. It was the least popular pizza we ordered. We ordered it since we were unable to order the margs and artichoke pizza from artichoke basille and it did NOT taste good. BBQ wings - I expected them to be more BBQ flavor but it was very sweet... like someone mixed honey mustard and BBQ sauce together. Some people liked it but some didn't. Just sucks that there was no indication that it was a sweet tasting item (ie honey BBQ) In Conclusion: I wouldn't order from here again. Maybe just the margarita and cheese because it's the only pizzas that tasted good... but only if there was no other option. I ordered delivery on DoorDash. I got a White with Spinach Slice, a buffalo Chicken Calzone, a BBQ Chicken Slice, and garlic knots. The white with spinach spice smelled weird. Like genuinely, when I smelled the slice it smelled off, didn't smell appetizing. The ricotta is ricotta, the spinach is alright. Definitely wish I had some garlic powder or red chili flakes right now. Something just feels off about the slice. I can't put my finger on it though. There's not much flavor to this slice at all almost taste like water. 4/10 never again. The garlic knots on the lower tier of garlic knots I've had. Didn't have any real kick to them whatsoever, felt dull. Felt like a school lunch garlic knot. Also I asked for extra marinara sauce kindly and they did not oblige. The BBQ chicken slice certainly had an odd presentation, I was taken aback at first to be frank , but after I went in for a bite it was alright. The sauce was ok, a bit sweet, and the chicken was mediocre at best. Kind of off putting how they just pile the ingredients on top. And finally , the buffalo chicken calzone. It's was alright. 6/10 maybe. The buffalo chicken bits were the tastiest part, and the cheese used seem just a bit too soft /rich to me to go with the rest of it. A slice of pizza just like the old days with the bubbles. It is warming to see the crust is perfect. The underneath is charbroiled just like it used to be. I ordered takeout from this restaurant I had placed an order for a medium white pizza with artichokes on it, which was extra as well as some garlic knots. The pizza was sooooo delicious!!!! I don't know why this place doesn't have more stars. The pizza slices were generous and huge! The pizza wasn't too salty and the crust was absolutely perfect! The perfect blend of crunchy/crispy and doughy. The garlic knots weren't a hit but after I heated them they tasted pretty decent. But overall I'd definitely order from this place again and I think they deserve more stars. Not to mention the pricing is worth it. I believe that the $33 for the medium pie and the garlic knots was definitely worth it. They're also opened pretty late 7 days a week so totally worth it on my humble opinion. There's something about the crust that I never have tasted and eaten before. We live in NJ and head into the city to see my " crew" pretty often and when we leave their building, I whip out my phone and order a large pizza to take home to the burbs. It's not a bad delivery option on the UES - portions are generius, prices are reasonable, and your food is there in less than 15-20 min. I have had the pizza (pretty standard thin crust), fries (solid as well), linguine carbonara (decent and they were able to substitute linguine for penne), and meatballs marinara (decent portion in a slightly sweet sauce with mozzarella). All were pretty solid, and the fluffy, toasted bread that comes with the pasta is great - the crust is cripsy and the inside is fluffy and soft. Overall, a pretty solid go-to for cheap, fast pizza and pasta in generous portions. Because carbs are amazing. read more

Absolutely delicious New York pizza! The crust is some of the best I've ever had - they do this thing with Panko and the texture is just so good! I'd order take out. A lot of the bad reviews are for delivery issues the place has no control over. I'll pass by on the way home and it makes for great dinner. Also a note - avoid getting too many toppings. I have never left a review on food , ever . But this experience required a full in-depth walk through. We ordered the Margherita pizza with pepperoni, calamari , and Alfredo pasta . This is by far the worst food I've had in my many months of trying random food places in New York . The pizza was so unflavored and usually i give restaurants a pass because margherita pizza is not complex but i don't think they tried . Speaking of not trying , the Alfredo was indescribable in the worst way. If i had to describe it I'd say they only used milk for the sauce . No salt , no pepper . Not even a basil leaf . The calamari was at the least edible . I can even say enjoyed it . I prefer a crispier crust and this one reminded me of a pancake batter , but to give them the benefit of the doubt , it was edible. I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. My roommates and I live right around the corner from here. We have ordered pizza from here several times. Granted we have only tried 2 of the items, which are the regular cheese pizza and the grandma pizza. But the items we have tried have both been excellent each time. I place an order through Slice app and accidentally sent it with the wrong pizza. I immediately called the customer support to change the pizza, but they told me that pizza is already in the oven and cannot be changed. How in the world you could make pizza and put it in the oven within 1 minute. Honestly, I am not exaggerating, look in the attachments. Since that was Slice app, I called the restaurant within 9 minutes after the order was placed, but the restaurant told me that my pizza is already on the way and cannot be cancelled. What the heck?! The order was placed on 5:42pm, the delivery guy was at the door at 5:59pm. I live at least 8-9 minutes away from the restaurant by bike. But they still need time to put it in the box, pack it with other orders. There is no way they make fresh pizza in this short time, most likely this pizza is being reheated and those particular pizzas could be in the restaurant for all of the day. Beware of this place. My husband and I were craving pizza. Ordered from La Rustica Pizza, off of grub hub. Took about 30 mins. We always have the them come up and tip at least 20%. The Order came up to 60 for pizza, wings and mozzarella sticks. The delivery guy calls and says the pizza is here to come down. My husband tells him grub hub comes up every time. He says his boss told him he can't. " who's your boss!? Gubhub or the restaurant, he mutters around it. So now my husband gets ready and less than 4mins of hanging up. Ready and head downstairs. A min later I get a call saying no one was downstairs. We tried to call that same number just would ring until we got voicemail. Then we googled the # and we got a hold of I guess management. He says the order was already sent out and they delivered the order already. To whom!? It was definitely not us. We say so what about the order I mean it was 60 bucks! He starts yelling at us. Saying well the order has already been delivered and they're not making it again. Smh "well what are we going to do about the situation?"He yells again, call the company, tell the company it's not your problem! Well when did an issue with an establishment is not a problem of the people conducting the business! I am upset, taken aback and hungry. I usually order from La Rustica and get Chicken Parm delivered (on seamless). This time, I ordered the chicken Francaise, a Sicilian slice, and chocolate cake. The Chicken Francaise was very disappointing and it did not taste fresh. The sauce had a rancid taste to it and the chicken was extremely thin. I called to send the food back and potentially get a refund but the person I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and gave me a hard time about my experience. He offered to send me a chicken parm, which I accepted (since I was starving at this point!), but it still wasn't as fresh and tasty as usual. Extremely disappointing experience. From now on, I will not be ordering from La Rustica. (2 star rate) I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the owner, Alex, an hour after my review giving me a $30 credit towards my next order at La Rustica. Growing up in NY, I get cravings all the time for solid cheese pies. Specialty slices are great once in a while but nothing beats a fresh, hot, crispy cheese pie. We've ordered a few times for late night delivery (and just for dinner) and their medium cheese pie is SO good. For $22ish including delivery, tips, tax, etc. it's a good size to split with one other person. The dough is crispy and fresh, cheese is nice and salty, and the sauce packs a juicy punch of flavor.
