We went to eat dinner at La Rustica for a celebration with a friend.. ..The food was SUPERB....the service was equally EXCELLENT. We had Oscar for our waiter and he made sure that we were all well taken care of.....The appetizer and pasta dishes was so delicious and they have a nice variety of dishes to choose from their menu. They also have a nice wine selection...We will definitely be returning to try their other dishes... Heidi read more

We've tried La Rustica twice in the last two weeks and have also had take out. Each time the food has been really good. The waitstaff are very friendly and the owners are very attentive going around to the tables. Each time we've gone the restaurant is packed. Really puzzled by people's reviews of portion sizes. The entrees that we've ordered have been the perfect size and we feel they are priced right. I'm just excited that there is a nice sit down restaurant with a bar in the area without having to go to Frisco or Plano. The items that we've tried and I'd recommend them all. We recently moved to the area and were looking for a quiet, upscale bar for a glass of wine and appetizer. La Rustica did not disappoint. The wine-by-the-glass selections are nice but do not use Italian pronunciation when speaking with the bartender. I ordered two different reds, and he brought one red and one white. Simple correction with an apology. After finishing our apps (calamari fritti and arancini, the bartender delivered our check in a typical stand-up folder but failed to remove our dishes in front of us. A manager came over to ask "Is everything OK?" I told him no, that there were still dirty dishes in front of us, interfering with me getting and reading the check. The plates were quickly taken. I am old school fine dining, being part of a rating system designed by The Dallas Morning News and The Dallas Times Herald and was part of the management of the third finest rated restaurant in the country back in 1982. I guess that I am getting older and see too many hamburger joints being rated 5 Stars on Yelp. No, things change as time goes by and I will remember the grand evening ratings SHOULD include 33% for food, 33% for service and 33% for atmosphere. I guess that too many people of the current generations have been raised with "participation trophies." I will come back, wearing boots and jeans, and will expect to be greeted by the bartender with "Howdy folks." read more

This place is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I have been too. From the ambiance to the service. 10-10 and THE FOOD! Please make sure to try the tiramisu. Love love love! read more

Went here for a friend's birthday. The server was very attentive. The food was good, however the calamari appetizer was overly salted. Dessert, the cheesecake, was delicious and portion was generous. Will be back! read more

Expensive for a small amount of food. $25 for chicken piccata and was a tiny amount of pasta.

Hands-down delicious. I had the lobster ravioli, which was to die for. the chicken Parm was good as well, but I can make it better at home. I was sad to see that the cannoli that I brought home was not filled with cream. It only had cream on the ends. Maren was an excellent server. Can't wait to go back read more

La Rustica is a neighborhood spot that is attempting to offer a more upscale experience to an area that has little in the way of restaurants and I do applaud the sincere attempt. However, the food does not quite live up to what should be expected. My husband and I ordered two dishes, the meatballs and the pizza Margherita. The meatballs were fine, they tasted slightly overcooked but they were a generous size and the sauce was also a generous amount. However, they could have been made better by adding some amount of heat to the dish as it lacked a dynamism that prevented it from really achieving its full potential. The pizza fell to a similar fate, it was fine. However, it could have been more than fine by simply upping the quality of the cheese or using a sauce that held more depth. I will give it a second go in a few months as it is still quite young. read more

The chicken was rubbery and the serving sizes are ridiculously small for the price. Lasagnas was alright but overall extremely mediocre. The place looked nice and clean and the service i received when i picked up my togo order was okay. oh and the bread was disgusting you'd think they would sell homemade bread with their prices. read more

Great food, great service and great atmosphere! I had the gnocchi and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent! My wife had the chicken piccata and was very pleased! Also, VJ, thank you for stopping by the table to make sure everything was great! Couldn't have asked for a better night!!! read more

What a shame that some people can't differentiate between opening glitches in a Yelp review. You don't penalize with less stars for that. I grew up in Southern California, and while it has its problems, there is amazing food everywhere. I've also traveled the world and eaten in places renowned for their food. I guess I'm a little spoiled, but since moving to Texas I find the reviews are unrealistically critical. Too many doughnuts and chicken fingers I guess. And stop ordering "take out" to judge a restaurant. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The food was good. It was prepared well, both in presentation and flavor. I had the pasta with bolognese sauce, and my wife had the chicken piccata. The sauce (or gravy, as they call it on the East Coast) was a northern Italian version with a bolder tomato paste taste (which I like - not everyone does). The piccata was a perfect blend of lemon and capers which is not all that easy to do without an overly salty taste. Theirs was not overly salty at all. The restaurant is not billed as family-style portions, so I'm not sure what some people expect for quantity. The service was excellent, and even the servers who were new to the industry were so attentive and sweet that the whole experience was a pleasure. We are thrilled the owners took a risk and we look forward to our next time in. It was smart to start off with a limited menu, but we are excited for even more choices even if they change it within a limited menu each month. Both Canoili and Tiramasu were excellent desserts and I'm pretty picky. Someone will complain, but that is Texas, I have discovered. read more

If you're looking for authentic Italian food for a date night or casual night out look no more! La Rustica is new hidden gem located in Oak Point right past Little Elm Bridge. The food and service were spot on. I never once had to ask for a refill. Our food came out within a reasonable time even though they were busy. We started off with the Mussels and Calamari. Both exceptional! I could have skipped the main course and ordered another round of Mussels!! For the main course we had Chicken Piccata and Linguine Alle Vongole and finished with Tiramisu. All fantastic! I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu! read more

Impressed with the wait staff as they were very attentive towards our group of 6. La Rustica is a diamond in the ruff. From the chicken piccata, spaghetti with meat sauce, lasagna, and Pollo Penne all delectable! Special accommodation was made when asked if a sauce could be changed from Alfredo to marinara. They went so far as to make a gluten free pizza crust and turned it into a delicious Parmesan and herb bread! Thank you La Rustica for being the best restaurant in Oak Point. read more

Another great dinner at La Rustica. Our server Maren was awesome as always Tried the Pasta Fagiole. Took a while, but worth the wait. Then had lobster ravioli and Seafood Fra Diavlo. Both great. Will be back read more

Tried to eat there at 5:30 on a Saturday. There were 5 open tables and they would not seat a party of 3 without a reservation.

What an amazing dinner experience. Went to celebrate a birthday and the staff were nothing short of amazing! The attention to detail was incredible! Our waitress Bella, was so kind, attentive, and funny! The food was amazing! Everything we tried was so so good! Highly recommend this place for the food and hospitality! read more

This place just opened, and I hope it stays! It's the perfect date night spot! First, out of the 4 dishes we ordered, five of them were so good. The whipped ricotta and tomatoes on the bruschetta was so fresh! The burrata caprese was as good as the one I had last year in NYC. And the gnocchi! Lord! I ate at the oldest Italian restaurant in the nation and had gnocchi there. The gnocchi at La Rustica was pretty close to that! Second, the service was wonderful. Had several wait staff check on us to make sure we were being taken care of. Third, the atmosphere was romantic and modern. read more

Oak Point is very lucky to have such an outstanding restaurant. I cannot wait for warmer weather so we can enjoy the outdoor area. We spoke to one of the owners, Victor, after we ate for a bit. The ambience was good I had a great experience the butter and noodles with Parmesan cheese on top is great though the Moose cake had paper in it if it didn't have paper in it it would be five stars but I have to give you the bad news one star read more

What a lovely experience today for dinner. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Our server Andrea was a delight. Thank you!

Very impressed. The restaurant clearly is overachieving. First, the food was very tasty with large portions, very nicely presented and a good value. I had the sausage pasta dish, the only thing they should probably warn the guests is that it's quite spicy and I like spicy but it's spicy. Excellent choice of wines. I was very impressed with the large number of waitstaff. Very hard to find these days. Very well trained and highly attentive always keeping my water glass full. The decor was very nice, and the choice of music was classic Italian-American, Dean Martin and company. Classy. So, good food, good service, good decor, good ambience. A few suggestions if I may. A little bit of training for the hostess would be nice. My wife and I were both dressed properly with me in a blazer and my wife, well dressed. While the hostess was friendly, she referred to us as "you guys" about four times. Just a little bit of training would be good to pull up that initial introduction to the experience for the guests. The music, while quite appropriate, was just a little bit on the loud side. Like most restaurants today there is very little to block noise, and so the acoustics for this strip mall location are not quite ideal, although the rest of the decor is very nice. For a fine dining experience, I could live without the two rather bright televisions above the bar, clearly visible in the dining areas. Perhaps the brightness could be set a little lower in the evening, so it would not be such a distraction. Again, just a few suggestions, but looking forward to our next visit. My last comment is actually directed at the guests. This is a nice restaurant. You should try to dress a bit nicely, nicer, when you come by out of respect for the restaurant, your fellow diners, your company, and yourselves. Enjoy your meal! . read more

The ambiance was good. Kid friendly. The food was ok. It wasn't the best Italian food. I don't think the calamari was quite done cooking. A little rubbery. The drinks weee good. But the bad is that it's very pricey. Expect to spend around $100 for 2 if you have drinks. read more

I wanted to take the time to publicly thank La Rustica Italian, especially Jessica for the incredible job they did hosting my daughter's graduation party! Back in January and February I was working with a major Italian restaurant chain, in order to host the graduation party. After visiting the venue, on Valentines Day weekend, my daughter was all in, and I called to put down the deposit. When I called back that Monday, they told me that they were sold out, and we were so disappointed. I decided to give La Rustica a call, because we are big fans of their food and their restaurant. I had the pleasure of talking with Jessica, who told me that they were not hosting parties like that but were thinking about starting to host parties. I believe we were their first party that the restaurant hosted, and I can tell you that we are so extremely grateful to her and her team. She opened the restaurant for us and they went WAY ABOVE our wildest expectations, from the food to the servers, to decorations, to the menu that she made, this is truly a top notch dining experience!!! Everything was better than any five-star upscale restaurant could have done. We had 35 guests, and they are still raving about how good the food was and how great the service was. I am so glad that the well known chain said no to us. Oak Point, feel blessed that we have a local restaurant that loves our town! Do me a favor, if you have not been to La Rustica, go and try them. I promise you won't be disappointed! Eat local, and thanks Jessica and team!!! read more

First time trying and I was impressed. Was able to walk in and sit at the bar on a busy Friday evening. The wine selection was good, maybe could use some more cocktail options, but the bartender was very helpful. Tried the meatballs and couple entrees and a cheesecake for dessert. I would have wished for some fresh grated Parmesan for my entree, but it was still yummy. I think they have made it past the first opening jitters and everyone has found their grove. I am excited to go back again and try something else. read more
