The only issue was the cigarette smoke that backs up into the restaurant from the staff, allowing people to smoke in their vestibule. It's a bit much. My friend ended up ordering a bunch of skewers, a pineapple cocktail with a dessert and enjoyed them thoroughly. I had a homemade Green Tea crepe cake and it was delicious. This is a cute little spot to have dessert with friends at night. There's live music and the service was great. Unfortunately, their skewers were not of the quality I was hoping for. While the flavors were there, they were all missing a bit of crunch and texture. They weren't as fried as these kinds are skewers are typically made. Milk Tea Coconut Pudding contains Coconut, Tofu Pudding, Red Bean, Raisin, Haw Flakes, Peanut, Watermelo, Agar, Jelly, Taro Ball, Brown Boba, it's a good choice of high tea though. Ice tea Combo for two, which contains a pot of Tea, 7 dishes of cake, a dish of nuts and 2 dishes of ice jelly. The cakes are toooo sweet, we all took 1 bites and then left it over there. Don't recommend this dish. One thing I want to point out is, they open at 3pm everyday, so if you want to come for dessert, you have to check out the opening time. I wish they can open earlier like 1pm. I went there at 4pm but the dessert haven't been prepared yet, the staffs told me I need to wait for few more times to get the ingredient ready. The indoor dining space was beautiful. The sauce on their skewers is bomb. Their blueberry soufflé pancakes tasted musky. It tasted almost rancid and this taste came from the sauce. Also, they didn't mix the batter enough because I saw thick streaks of egg whites in the pancakes. Their rue lemon white tea tasted like lemon mixed with hot water and syrup. But I understand white tea is a mild flavor. The employees were efficient and attentive. This is probably my favorite tea house in Brooklyn. There's outdoor dining and indoor dining. It's also a great hangout spot! Peach green tea; 5/5: It's not that sweet which is nice and it compliments each dessert that they have. Green tea waffle; 4/5; I only liked it when they served double icecream but now they serve it with whipped cream and icecream. The waffle is not dry which is nice and the fruits are always fresh! This is probably my new go to spot. I had such a nice experience. Their staff are super friendly and this place is kids friendly. When you arrive, they check your temperature before coming in. I think their food is deff worth their price. I got ordered some bbq skewers, egg fried rice and soufflé pancake. I love how fluffy their soufflé pancake is. You have a choice between whole egg or just egg white. I only ordered egg fried rice because that's something my toddler can eat, but I pretty much enjoyed it myself. I believe they're known for their skewers and hot pot dishes but their desserts are also pretty great. I've tried their skewers, spicy rice noodles, souffle pancakes, among other items. The skewers flavor is really good but sometimes when you order on the paper menu, they will leave some items out of your order because they don't put everything that you marked into the system. I also enjoy the spicy rice noodles, which has a nice broth and lots of toppings. Their dessert selection is also great- the presentation is so aesthetic. For the name, "La Queen Tea House", you would think it's a cute cozy cafe but really, it looks more like a night club LOL. I've been here once for skewers takeout and it was a very mediocre experience. Extremely long wait for 4 skewers and the order was completely wrong! We decided to just do BBQ and we got the following: -Korean Rice Cake: so delicious, so crispy, so tasty - highly recommend -Mini Bun: These were interesting; not what I expected but I would likely pass on these in the future -Sesame Pancake: Also not what I was expecting; as they were more a bun like item rather than actual pancakes -Enoki Mushroom: also great flavor, would recommend -Mini Sausage: These were alright -Fish Tofu: which comes in 3 skewers; they were pretty small in size since they cut each fish tofu into two -French Fries: They were not bad; nothing special either -Salted Crispy chicken: These wre good when they first came out but they had a very strong flour taste after you kept eating. The vibes juxtaposed to the actual food we were eating just wasn't it. Wanting dessert, I was surprised to see this restaurant was open, as I never heard of it before. Right away, the space echoed of loud club EDM music as soon as we opened the door. Keep in mind, we came here for dessert. The music was obnoxiously loud, to the point where you have to shout to really hear each other. We ordered by marking Mango Souffle Pancake ($13) and a Fruit with Vanilla Waffle ($9) on an erasable menu. Utensils consisted of disposable plates and forks. The pancakes were around a 25 minute wait and it was presented in a plate under a fancy metal lid cover. Unlike its extravagant entrance, they were unfortunately pretty lackluster, and tasted fake and doughy. While the egg waffles were crunchy at some pieces than what I was used to, they were just what I had missed. The waffles had a perfectly sweet egg flavor that goes so well with the milky ice cream. It came with 2 scoops, 1 scoop of heavy cream and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. The amount of cream was not necessary. The interior was spacious with comfy soft seats. Everything really was beautiful looking (aside from their foul smelling bathroom), and the service was stellar, but I wish they toned down the out-of-place club music and concentrated more towards their food. read more

"Don't judge a book by its cover" basically summarizes La Queen. But in a negative light !!! We ordered the cake platter ($19.99) and indeed the food was only pretty but not tasty. If you want to buy desserts at an average Chinese bakery, this is what La Queen is but worse! The first level of the cake platter consists of almond cookies that you can find anywhere (taste very average) and matcha/strawberry coconut pudding. Taste was very below average. These are probably packaged desserts that they've thrown in the platter. Unbelievable. The bottom layer had a mango pudding cake, coffee sponge cake, tiramisu, and pork floss cake. Again, nothing was made in house here. The mango pudding taste like what you would get at a Chinese bakery. The coffee sponge cake was too wet. The tiramisu was the weirdest item here. Some food items were excellent, some were new and exciting, and others will be left off the order next time. DO GET: @ dry skewers - cooked over fire with spices/sticky sauces. Best include the chicken wings (look dry, but are huge and spicy and juicy inside), gizzard (perfectly cooked, tender, and not chewy hard parts), lamb (tender, sticky sauce, delicious), rice sticks (good carb accompaniment), squid (a bit chewy imo but well received), cauliflower (if you like cauliflower!) @ certain desserts like the fruits in a milky soup served cold @ their fancy pots of hot tea! To share with a group. We got the passion fruit tea served hot in a fancy cute tea set. A bit sour for me and weird served hot, but I can tell their tea is aromatic and flavorful. We will try a different set next time DO NOT GET: @ wet hot pot set ($30) pre-picked. Came as an impressive metal pot, 30 skewers (2 of each type) basking in the spicy hot pot soup. Looks better than it tasted. Includes things like potato, meat, fish ball, cauliflower, sausage, tripe, etc. Maybe if you like variety? But why when you can get the dry skewers! Would not recommend @ mango souffle pancake - was informed this was not good last time one of us had it here. Probably risky getting many of the desserts here... tl;dr definitely best chinese bbq skewer place around, hidden in a side street near the train station. Bonus that it's a cute tea house with plenty of seating and huge screens for karaoke and decor. According to the staff here, smoking is allowed after 7PM, apparently. Well, sorry to break the news to you La Queen, it is illegal. Smoking is prohibited in any outdoor dine-in settings. I hate to beat down a business during the pandemic and I know sometimes businesses gotta do what they got to do to please their certain customer base. (But then, I didn't pay to dine in for second hand smoke... ) This is my second time here for dinner food (BBQ skewers & Grilled fish), food is good, staffs are nice (2 stars for that). I have dined here couples time the last few months and I can tell the owner had made effort to make their customers feel comfortable dinning outdoor. I searched around Borough Park and this place offers the safest outdoor set up in my opinions. It was just thick brown curtains in early Fall and you can see how fancy it is now as shown below. They have music, heater, and lights in each room. They also have a rooftop where you can enjoy some quiet time in the day. My party and I enjoyed our time up there for hours without any other guest which is awesome. Food wise. They are your average bbq but on the pricy end. My favorite skewers are chicken wing and Korean rice cake. Some of the skewers came out lukewarm. This is pretty consistent as I experienced this every time I dine here. It wasn't a big problem to me but I would expect my skewers to be hot. You can skip their desserts and order their savory items. The dining here was great! I liked the decorations and the food was amazing. We had a little surprise when we were there. 3 people in inflated costumes came and danced for us. It was very entertaining to watch. However, I didn't really enjoy how loud the music was. We were right under the speaker, and the loud music gave me a bit of a headache. We could hardly talk to our servers or hear each other talk because of how loud it was. I loved the skewers especially the rice cake and the mini hot dog one. The popcorn chicken was a favorite for me and my family. It came with a really nice mayo sauce we all loved. The tomato pot was ok. I felt like the fish could've been bigger/better. We were seated in the back away from others and ordered skewers, sliced whelk with scallion, mango tea, and mantou to share. I ate 5 different skewers and for some reason the spice on all of them are different. Out of shrimp, beef tripe, pork belly, squid feet, and beef, I enjoyed our squid feet skewers the most. The mango tea came in a cute teapot with two tea cups. It was kept warm over a small fire throughout our meal. Unfortunately, it was sweeter than what we would have liked. The sliced whelk wasn't bad, but needed a bit more seasoning and the waiter was very cooperative in getting us more sauces for it. It also came with cucumbers (which was perfect, because I was also craving that). The mantou (came with condensed milk) and coconut milk sago were decent. At the end of our meal, we were given complimentary tofu hua! It tasted like milk tea and had red beans inside of it. There is enough space to accommodate bigger parties. The server provided us with some menus and a dry erase marker to mark our orders. Food ranged from skewer hot pot to BBQ items and drinks ranged from fruit teas to alcohol-containing beverages. We ultimately decided to order the Red Bean Sago with Coconut Juice and Mango Pomelo Sago. These desserts were okay, not the best I've had, but also not the worst. The Mango Pomelo Sago tasted like it was made with yogurt which was a little strange, but not intolerable, and was a little more sour than expected. Even when my groups of friends ordered food, we have to keep getting up to the staff and at the end, we ended up doing downstairs to order and pick up the food ourselves. At the end the staff said it is MANDATORY to tip 20% when they barely served our group. If the staffs provide satisfying service, I am more than willing to tip extra and visit again, but this is definitely my LAST visit! read more

I came here quite a few times, and I would say 3/4 the experience were perfect. La Queen has a outdoor dining, indoor dining, and a rooftop. The outdoor dining is decorated really well and they have heaters for when it's cold. At the rooftop there were are tents and seats for small and big groups. The indoor is also very spacious! The only complain I would say is that when we were sitting indoor the music did not have to be that loud. It was a bit hard to hear ourselves and my friends and I at a point had to talk really loudly with each other when the music was on. I'm not sure if it was just that day or in general like that but would suggest to lower the music a bit. Overall I would say my experience weren't terrible excluding the indoor experience. read more
