Like Superman, just in the nick of time to save the infant from the burning building, entered our life to rescue our tastebuds! Try their carne asada burrito, you will not be disappointed. We always went to a taco shop near by and wanted to rry something new... found this place and yelp and ordered 2 carne asado burritos and it was hmmmm mmmm good! The meat was tender not like some places where they reheat and over cooked - it was delicious. Went here after a meeting I had nearby, interesting little spot that doesn't really stand out. Had the surf-n-turf burrito and for $6 was quite a steal! The burrito was quite massive and the complimentary chips and salsa completed the meal quite nicely. Jamaica seemed a bit too artificial and the horchata tasted much to syrupy, I wouldn't recommend those. But upon completion of my lunch, I found myself content and filled to the brim. Since the early 90's not much has changed in downtown Casa de Oro and that is a good thing. I now live north of Santa Barbra which is Fast food Mexi hell. Carne Asada burritos are stuffed with rice and beans and cost upwards of 8 bucks. I found La Posta's prices comparable to the San Diego market and their flavor/taste exceed that of Santanas, Humbertos, Robertos, Alabertos, an all of the other 'BERTOS. Their guacamole does not contain mayonnaise (thank god) and the staff is just a friendly as I remember. These guys are the best in show. read more

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that the sheer number of specials, carne asada burritos and nachos I was fed from La Posta as a fledging and overweight 8 year old have shortened my life span by at least 3 or 4 decades, and unwittingly contributed to the excessive methane floating around our local atmosphere throughout the 90's. La Posta has not changed much at all since I was a kid. It's one of the few institutions left on Campo Road that can take me back to childhood and still give off the kind of fuzzy feeling my colon is willing to accept punishment for. Yummmmmmmmm! I discovered this place after moving into the Casa de Oro area in 1995 and have been going ever since. GREAT take-out Mexican. I thought it was interesting (and informative) when a lady that works at the UPS Store, about 2 miles away was standing in line waiting for take-out; she works right next door to a take-out Mexican restaurant that has a better atmosphere, and not bad food, but LPDA has superior food! All I have to say is ROLLED TACOS and their chips with EXTRA SALSA! I literally can drink their salsa, that's how good it is. Sometimes I go to Saritas for a burrito and then come here for their chips and salsa and maybe even rolled tacos. It's perfect that they're next to each other. read more

This place is good, they're open late, and have friendly staff. I usually get the carne Asada nachos with no beans and my husband gets either adobada torta or burrito. They do run out of adobada when we go really late so double check they have the meat. The salsa is also good, I wish it was spicy but it's got great flavor. read more

I went to this place because my other go-to spot (Saritas) was way too crowded. The perk of this place is that it's only two doors down from Saritas. I had their rolled tacos and a California burrito with Chicken. I don't know if it was a random or not, but the burrito had seasoned fries (versus your typical run of the mill fries in other burritos)....which was the kicker in the burrito. The saltiness of the fries, along with the crispy texture made all the difference. I suggest you give this place a chance. Kudos to this place for opening up shop right next to one of the busiest burrito spots in east county. read more

Sarita's has always had more notoriety in the Valley because it has burritos the size of a lumberjack's forearm, but La Posta's has always had the edge with better tasting food. Look at who has more stars overall. - I put their California burrito up there with any other taco shop that gets named whenever a top 10 CA burrito list gets put out. Carne asada, french fries hot and crispy, hit with cool guac and sour cream. It's got different textures and different temperatures going on. Great juxtaposition for the mouth. - You get free chips if you dine in. - My only knock is that the shredded beef in their rolled tacos is chewy from time to time. I've been here about four times and the food has only been good once. Twice I've gotten the bean and cheese burrito and the beans were burnt and flavorless. The Chicken Flautas are actually very good here and I would recommend getting that if you insist on coming to this place. My fourth experience which was today was a rather disappointing one. I got a Pollo Asada burrito. What I got was a burrito with huge chunks of hard chicken which were hard to chew, some bagged lettuce and a hint of tomato. No guacamole or onions or anything was added. Good quality food for the most part but kinda steep in prices is the real downfall for me. However, their food is seasoned, marinated, and tastes ok. The food takes forever to come out though. Although, it's worth it. I've had worse food done with sloppy work, so take all the time you need. Seating would be good for small groups and families. This Place is awesome! I always order the Carne Asada Fries with pico de gallo. The cooks are very generous with the amount of carne asada that is served on the warm crispy bed of fries. Order with a pepsi and Im good for the rest of the week. Pollo Asado chips are equally as awesome very flavorful with a nice crunch. My gf orders the cevice that comes with a lot of shrimp, enough for two tostadas de ceviche. The salsa has a great flavor to it as well. This place always hit my spot. Awesome food. Whenever I go to a taco joint I pretty much always order the same thing: a California Burrito. So my review is based on that item. Of the three major Mexican stops on Campo Road La Posta is second to Saritas but way ahead of Santanas (which is thoroughly disgusting). First I applaud them on actually putting guacamole on my burrito. Putting the California name on food and not putting avocado on it in some form makes me rage so hard and it's incredibly common among Mexican restaurants. Unfortunately the meat was just not seasoned as well as Saritas. It just tasted a little bland. Fortunately they're pretty generous with the cheese, guac, and sour cream so overall not a bad tasting burrito. The staff at La Posta are really cool and friendly and they all seem to get along and fun with each other. Also, I'm pretty sure one of the guys always comes into work high as shit. This place has two major advantages over Saritas. It's not nearly as packed during peak hours and there's much more seating room. I love Saritas, but I'm not waiting twenty minutes for a burrito. Overall an acceptable place to get some decent food with little wait and a fun atmosphere. read more

I've never had anything here that I was disappointed in. The food is well priced and has very generous portions. They have water already out for your convenience but their Agua Frescas are delicious! The parking lot can be a little tricky, but it's worth any hassle to get here and enjoy the yummy food! read more

I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. Recently had the California burrito which was full of meat and not too many fillers such as potatoes or pico. Had the perfect amount of guacamole and cheese which comes in it. Most other places will charge you extra. The guys here are always generous with the chips and salsa and will always offer you more when you run out. My son loves their bean and cheese burritos and I can tell the beans are homemade and not straight from a can. In case you were wondering, I'll answer the question for you....yes La Posta is better than Saritas. Saritas is crap. It's all store bought pre made crap that they try to pass off as "authentic". Save ur money and go to La Posta. You won't be disappointed. read more

Carne Asada Quesadilla, five rolled tacos hold the guac, and extra salsa. That's been my phone order going on 8 years now, give or take an order of chips or a breakfast burrito sprinkled in. It's truly good, it's fast, and it's worth it. They're heavy on the grease, heavy on the ingredients, and they know they're giving you magic in a styrofoam cup when they hand you the salsa.
