On a vacation, and I was in search of some amazing tacos. I drove by this place and turned around on a hunch. Ordered through the drive through and pulled up to the window to a very friendly staff member. The whole place smelt absolutely amazing my first indicator these were going to be great. Ordered two fish tacos and 3 carne asada tacos. On my way to my parents the car was filled with smell of amazing tacos. Once I got home they didn't last but two minutes. I've been going here the past 11 years. I live in spring valley but go out of my way to come here because in the past they were the best option around. Not sure if they've changed ownership or management again recently but I keep getting burned here. The last 4 times I've gone, I've ordered and PAID for sour cream to be added either to a burrito or rolled tacos and each time they remember to charge me extra for it, but they never actually add it. Rolled tacos are always soggy now. Meat in burritos is lacking. They also label the burritos wrong all the time which is super annoying. read more

My breakfast burrito was huge. I like real potatoes but when they use french fries I choose beans instead. I only ate half because it was just too much. Had to go to this (third) restaurant to find enchiladas!! My friend ordered the cheese enchilada plate w beans and rice and I had the Adobado pork with shrimp (aka surf & turf) burrito. And their pick de gallo was delightful as was the green and red salsas. Both were plenty enough for the next day's lunch and dinner!! This place is such a hidden gem and definitely underrated. Every time I come here, the rolled tacos hit every time. Always fresh & crispy, loaded with guacamole & cheese (at no extra charge). They are open 24hrs and is what you considered a hole in the wall but they have the best rolled tacos in San Diego. The red sauce is not spicy at all but gives it some flavor, the verde salsa is a little spicier but still good with a lime taste. I haven't tried anything else here but from what my friend said, their carne asada fries are pretty good. I heard the beef taco is decent as well & the shrimp plate is SUPER SPICY. I don't know.. Tbh... Before Covid this place was still hit or miss. Today? You should miss it entirely. This place is in the conversation of worst value and overall worst taco shop in Spring Valley. Customer service is always rough... super nice to some customers and crazy rude to others. Now the quality is completely lost as well. Burritos are overpriced and ALWAYS SMALL. Rolled tacos are small and ALL TORTILLA. There might be 2 oz of meat in an order of 5. No attention to detail or care. Everything sloppily thrown together. I don't usually leave reviews on restaurants, and I usually go to this taco shop ALOT. And when I decided to try out the carnitas burrito, that first bite changed my life. The taste literally made me feel amazing, the temperature was perfect, the taste tickled at each taste bud so amazingly. Words cannot describe how beautiful and amazing that carnitas burrito is. I love this burrito. It is so amazing. The service was perfect, and to top it all off the burrito was perfect. This place is the definition of inconsistent. Came in two different times and ordered the same two plate. Carne asada fries and a combination rolled taco plate. If you can't make these two items right then I don't know what to tell you. Rolled tacos looked like they were thrown in, swimming in sauce. By the time I got home it was too soggy to even eat. The beans and rice tasted old and had a weird smell. The meat on the fries were salty and over cooked. Prices are also extremely high for the area it's in. If you are the owner and you are reading this, I would suggest you wake up and fix it before this economy takes you under. People are no longer going to pay for less than mediocre food. It's a small place but that saying is so true about finding a gem at a hole in the wall place. The people are nice and the food is delicious. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and 5 rolled tacos. The burrito was so good and freshly made. The rolled tacos were okay, but not as much meat inside them. I overall liked the food and will return again. The spot is so tiny! You literally drive around the building and order. They have a lot of choices on the menu. Do not underestimate the spiciness of the shrimp burrito! My first bite was so spicy, I didn't think I could take another bite. I'm not sure if that's just how it is or the cook was heavy handed on the spice, but I'm telling you IT WAS SPICY. My boyfriend ordered the sausage and bacon breakfast burrito. It was a little bit dry and it was decent tasting. The burritos are big and pretty good for the price.
