Love this place. Still my favorite place for rolled tacos, hands down. Crispy, loaded with cheese and guac. Everything is made fresh. So flavorful too. I am a Mexican food critic and this place is my top 3 for sure in San Diego. read more

DO NOT COME HERE, THIS PLACE WILL SCAM YOU!!! I've been going here for over a decade. I've ordered the same thing and have kept track of how much the total is every time. This time was the last straw and I refuse to give this place any more of my money. I order a burrito but instead of having it with everything I make some minor changes to it usually. The cashier (who looks like she hasn't worked there for more than a year) has the false confidence to tell me that changes made required her to charge me extra. She even said "that's how it's always been" but we both know that's a straight-up lie because she hasn't "always" been working there and I haven't been paying the price that she tried to scam me today. I didn't pay or take the food and just left. and this isn't the first time something similar to this happens at this particular location. The point is this; if you don't pay attention to how much you're paying (especially since this place NEVER gives a detailed receipt regardless of how many times you ask), this taco shop will UPCHARGE you every chance they get and then foolishly try to come up with some be excuse. Enough is enough, go to Sarita's or anywhere else instead. read more

The ground beef tacos are delicious and someone recommended the shredded beef tacos- wow, they didn't disappoint. I tend to go for chicken but I'm really enjoying the beef. The shredded beef was perfectly seasoned today (6/30/26) and loaded with cheeses and had just the right amount of lettuce! I need to also come here more often when on taco kick. The inside is small and there is no public bathroom. The drive thru runs smoothly and the get folks in and out. Don't forget the salsa- red or green, both are on point! read more

The girl who took our order, forgot to put our sour cream when we asked for it on the side. She didn't give us any salsa as well. She just wanted to get us out of the window as fast as possible. The burritos were very dry. They had more tortilla than anything. The meat was okay. We got two California burritos and one Carna asada burrito, and the California burritos were very dry. I would definitely not return to this place because of the service and quality of food prices were OK. Was definitely expecting better. read more

I've been going here the past 11 years. I live in spring valley but go out of my way to come here because in the past they were the best option around. Not sure if they've changed ownership or management again recently but I keep getting burned here. The last 4 times I've gone, I've ordered and PAID for sour cream to be added either to a burrito or rolled tacos and each time they remember to charge me extra for it, but they never actually add it. Rolled tacos are always soggy now. Meat in burritos is lacking. They also label the burritos wrong all the time which is super annoying. read more

Someone told me to try this one as opposed to the other popular one down the street from it. Loreto was just decent IMO. My taquitos didn't have that crunch that I was looking for. My breakfast burrito was huge. I like real potatoes but when they use french fries I choose beans instead. I only ate half because it was just too much. Ultimately I just wasn't a fan just my opinion. Nice people working. read more

Had to go to this (third) restaurant to find enchiladas!! My friend ordered the cheese enchilada plate w beans and rice and I had the Adobado pork with shrimp (aka surf & turf) burrito. And their pick de gallo was delightful as was the green and red salsas. Both were plenty enough for the next day's lunch and dinner!! We were delighted by the meals, service, and close location to my friend's home. She lives nearby and will be visiting again. read more

Tbh... Before Covid this place was still hit or miss. Today? You should miss it entirely. This place is in the conversation of worst value and overall worst taco shop in Spring Valley. Customer service is always rough... super nice to some customers and crazy rude to others. Now the quality is completely lost as well. Burritos are overpriced and ALWAYS SMALL. Rolled tacos are small and ALL TORTILLA. There might be 2 oz of meat in an order of 5. No attention to detail or care. Everything sloppily thrown together. Clumps of cheese instead of spread out... literally some plates look like they don't want you to come back. You can see my review from 11 years ago. This is not at all the same place. Did I mention rude? It's a no for me dog. Hopefully they return to their glory days. read more

Did this place change owners recently? Food is not good anymore. Nothing had any flavor, not even the hot sauce. Such a bummer cause this used to be our go to place. Such a disappointed. Guess we need to find a new place. read more

On a vacation, and I was in search of some amazing tacos. I drove by this place and turned around on a hunch. Ordered through the drive through and pulled up to the window to a very friendly staff member. The whole place smelt absolutely amazing my first indicator these were going to be great. Ordered two fish tacos and 3 carne asada tacos. On my way to my parents the car was filled with smell of amazing tacos. Once I got home they didn't last but two minutes. The tacos were so good they alone made my trip from my -15 degree home to SD worth it. Thank you Leroto's for the amazing tacos, food like almost makes me want to move back. read more

They usually serve there Carne Asada Fries with beans. So when I requested for no beans, they still put it on there smh. I don't go here too often even though this place is close to where I live, but I definitely will be going elsewhere from now on read more

I don't usually leave reviews on restaurants, and I usually go to this taco shop ALOT. And when I decided to try out the carnitas burrito, that first bite changed my life. The taste literally made me feel amazing, the temperature was perfect, the taste tickled at each taste bud so amazingly. Words cannot describe how beautiful and amazing that carnitas burrito is. I love this burrito. It is so amazing. The service was perfect, and to top it all off the burrito was perfect. I never describe anything as perfect (besides the smashing pumpkins, literally the best band ever) and this burrito was the one to be in 2nd place (first is God, God is always first) PLEASE i beg you order this burrito. read more

No disrespect, but they don't speak the best English. EVERYTIME i go there my order is wrong. Once I ordered a few items and also a Large FRENCH FRIES. Instead of the fries they gave me a large HORCHATA. It's worth a few extra minutes to go to La POSTA on Campo Road, or over by Troy at El Puerto Taco Shop. Wow loved getting roll tacos from there but now they cheapen out on the guacamole by adding a bunch of big chunks or onion and tomato fat L ,they where so fire fire without the tomato or onion chunks like you had already raised the price from $7 to $8 why do us like thatI ain't even mad just heart broken going to have to get read more

This place is the definition of inconsistent. Came in two different times and ordered the same two plate. Carne asada fries and a combination rolled taco plate. If you can't make these two items right then I don't know what to tell you. Rolled tacos looked like they were thrown in, swimming in sauce. By the time I got home it was too soggy to even eat. The beans and rice tasted old and had a weird smell. The meat on the fries were salty and over cooked. Prices are also extremely high for the area it's in. If you are the owner and you are reading this, I would suggest you wake up and fix it before this economy takes you under. People are no longer going to pay for less than mediocre food. Especially when there is a taco shop in every corner. read more

I had the skinniest Carne Asada Burrito yesterday at Loreto's Taco Shop yesterday. I complained and nothing was done about it. I'm not paying $10 for that. My employees told me the same thing after I showed them my Burrito. They said the portion sizes have gone down but my burrito was way to small. I'm never going there again. It was late on a Saturday night and looking for a place to eat. I came across this place Loretos Taco Shop located on 3546 Bancroft Dr. Spring Valley. It's a small place but that saying is so true about finding a gem at a hole in the wall place. The people are nice and the food is delicious. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito and 5 rolled tacos. The burrito was so good and freshly made. The rolled tacos were okay, but not as much meat inside them. I overall liked the food and will return again. It's a definite 4 stars for that excellent tasty burrito. This is a must Yelpers for the Carne asada burrito . Thank me later. read more

Been looking for better Mexican food, And ran into this spot a month ago, can officially say it's my new favorite late night munchies spot. I love how fresh and crispy the fries are. Pretty good but very slow. Any time I see a drive through, I have the expectation of things moving a little faster. Still took about 15 mins or so to get our food which might be a good thing? I dunno, just wanted to add that bit. Meat is well seasoned, but not generous portions. The end inch of all my rolled tacos didn't have any meat on both ends. My boyfriend got a California burrito and while it was huge, the ends were all just folded up tortilla and again not much meat compared to other taco shops. Heavy on the pico. Salsa was good and spicy so you don't need much. Large chunks of tomatoes and onions in the guac too, could be a pro or a con depending on the person. $17 for 5 rolled tacos and a cali burrito read more

Excellent food. I come here all the time. The nachos are amazing. Definitely 5 stars.

My mother and I both got rolled tacos from here, only difference is, I got mine with lettuce and pico added. Long story short, ended up in the ER with a bad case of food poisoning. I'll never return & I hope whoever reads this proceeds with caution. Worst experience ever, that I'd never wish on anyone. Not to mention, they charge almost $2 to add a sprinkle of (contaminated) lettuce that they get in surplus. read more

The spot is so tiny! You literally drive around the building and order. They have a lot of choices on the menu. Do not underestimate the spiciness of the shrimp burrito! My first bite was so spicy, I didn't think I could take another bite. I'm not sure if that's just how it is or the cook was heavy handed on the spice, but I'm telling you IT WAS SPICY. My boyfriend ordered the sausage and bacon breakfast burrito. It was a little bit dry and it was decent tasting. The burritos are big and pretty good for the price. The chicken nachos were really good though, I recommend that! It came with really big pieces of chicken, which I don't mind. I'd give this place 3.5 stars tbh, not too bad. A friend of mine from work recommended this place to me, so I made a quick side trip, on my way home to pick a chimichanga, because I was in the mood. When I arrived the place was not very busy. On the menu they had a choice of carne asada, pollo asado, and shredded beef chimichangas. I ordered the pollo asado chimi and a side of rice. I watched the lady as she grilled up the chicken, ladled the re-fried beans on the huge warm flour tortilla, then she put the chicken on the tortilla, and rolled it up nice and tight and gently put it in the fryer. When the whole thing was done, she sat it in the container, poured guacamole onto one half of the beast and sour cream on the second half, and finally sprinkled a generous amount of cheddar cheese all over the chimichanga. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/xFHHg7DSEClhEh30fonrSA?select=u4CtJ_eZLDvRb1PoW68kFQ The chimichanga was large enough for two people and at $4.95, it is quite a bargain. The the chicken was flavorful and plentiful. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/xFHHg7DSEClhEh30fonrSA?select=-Ynfz8BQH4EYZLkzBo2GMw) The re-fried beans were very good and so was the guac. I enjoyed it very much. The rice was a big hit in my book. It was very well prepared. It was loose, not greasy and full of flavor. (see pic) It was some of the better Mexican rice I have had. The half pint of rice was $1.55. The actual place is not much to look at. If you see the pictures, it color scheme is very typical for a taco shop. It could use an upgrade. Can you say Chimi, Chimi, Chimi, Changa......... read more
