HIDDEN MEXICAN BAKERY! Panadería La Reina is a small Mexican bakery in the heart of Harvard…read moreDistrict in Hemet. It's a hole-in-the-wall, so if you drive too fast you'll miss it. It's been a favorite of locals in the valley for many years now. This is my first time back in YEARS and the cookies are STILL top-tier. There's something about having a Mexican chocolate chip cookie in the cold that just feels so right. I visited with a group and was met by a friendly, yet astonished lady who seemed to have never seen so many people in her shop before. My main targets (chocolate chip, sprinkle cookies) were available, however I noticed some of the pastry racks were missing quite a few items. My group was looking for conchas, however only one selection was available. We had to wait a bit for the staff to make some more. The conchas taste good, but I've tasted better in years past. Don't get me wrong, I'm always looking for a chocolate concha fix, it just wasn't warm enough. I wanted a hot drink with it but unfortunately I don't think they sell Mexican hot cocoa here. I spotted a small fridge with refreshments like Jarrito's and other popular Mexican cold drinks. The store is older, but well-maintained. I think it needs an update aesthetically, but overall it was very clean. As for seating, I couldn't find tables inside nor outside (except one, without chairs). La Reina is very much a grab-n-go bakery.

The best pan ever! Would definitely recommend.. the prices are amazing the conchas are my fav also…read morethe bolios w the crema 10/10

I went in the day before Christmas to pick up some gluten free muffins for my girlfriend, but they were out. I picked up some other gf desserts but the muffins are what she likes the most. I asked if they were going to be open the day after Christmas and I would come back. Turns out the owner is planning to take a very well deserved week off, so no luck. But then she aske me for my number and told me that while she makes no promises, she will call me if she happens to make some. Within two hours I got a phone call. Six GF muffins with my name on it! I ran out and we were able to enjoy them while they were still warm. Sooooo good. Not only are the baked goods fantastic, but service like that? Deserves as many stars as are in the sky. Will have to settle for five here, though. ps. The lemon cheesecake (not gf) is phenominal.

We picked one up, a white cake with raspberry filling and then a miniature chocolate cake along with a couple of carrot cake cupcakes for the birthday. My husband and I got a couple of pastries to try as well on the drive South. The people in the bakery were so kind and helpful. The atmosphere was wonderful. I must say that I don't think I've had a better bear claw pastry and my husband had the sticky bun pastry and both were heavenly. When celebrating the birthdays, everyone thought the cakes were terrific and I must say that the white cake was heavenly as well. We always try to shop local and so glad that we found this place open on our trip. Highly recommend and we will be back!

Next time, I'll just ask for a little more time before bringing out our dinner. Problem solved. I ordered the 20oz Prime Rib and it was very-very good. My wife ordered the Bar-b-que Ribs and said they were a little dry, but ok. The prices were fair. All in all, this place is very good. We'll be back sooner than later. I'm giving this place 5 stars, not because it's great, but it's very-very good, as others leave 1-star reviews for the dumbest reasons.

Robin up front greeted me and I came in late like 35-45 min before closing and I was greeted and welcomed like I've been coming here for years. Right off the bat I felt like I was in the right place. I was chatting with Martin who was the bartender and he was super super chill nice and helped me get my beer and food order in last min and still made me feel welcome and not rushed at all! I already love this place and I haven't even tried the food yet this is me writing this now while i finish my beer, my food just got brought out hot and ready so I'll take some pics and give a review of that soon I ordered Wedge salad (jalapeños added) San Fran burger (jalapeños added) Jalapeno poppers So just ATE! Let's break down all three really quick ! The Wedge Salad is ALAWAYS a hit to me I loved the blue cheese dressing and the tomato's with bacon crumbles very delicious! I did however ask for jalapeños to be added with the salad and they forgot to add that but it was alright the flavor was great so I didn't mind and I (also showed up at like 21:28 so I get it) The San Fran burger was a HIT ! The sourdough bread with the chopped jalapeños added gave it the KICK i feel like it needed and the burger was actually bigger then I thought it was Gonna be! Honestly I would've just ordered the burger and been fine but I wanted to try the other items just because but don't worry if you're hungry the burger is filling ! The jalapeño poppers were perfectly grilled with bacon wrapped deliciousness and I tasted a slight syrup esk flavor not sure if that was what they base them with or if that was just the jalapeño jelly that it comes to dip. They were really good tho I will say I would 100% order these again. Customers service for it being late was AMAZING ! food and flavor 1000000% AMAZING !

And most of the time you cannot blame the waitress for the food quality. I ordered the prime rib dinner and the prime rib was cold when delivered I ordered a medium well and it was well done and it was cold. The dinner rolls came out ahead of time and I was told that the way that they came very doughy was typical and I should've ordered the cornbread so next time if we happen to go with Family, I will order the cornbread. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The gravy was good, but asked for extra gravy because the potatoes are very dry. The green beans tasted like they were from a can like. I said it was not the best the waitress again Tilly made it extremely nice. She kept my drink full my wife's drink full. My wife ordered the Asian chicken salad and she said that it was outstanding. The ambience is a typical pie restaurant type place to sit and eat. I gave it a four because of the waitress and her taking care of us all so well she put up with the other people that were there with us and they were a handful for her.

Fries always need help make sure to pour salt and pepper on them. Place definitely serves a particular clientele over 60. Hope they realize they need to adjust to attract a younger audience and not service the people that want to play bingo while they're eating. Staff is alright, place is clean. Seating is quick as it's not that busy. Pricing $13 minimum per person w/out drink
