We finally made it to Front Porch Cafe. What a lovely dining experience!…read more Front Porch is a cozy bayou-esque gem. It feels like you're pulling up to family's for dinner, which is exactly what you're doing since this is a family-owned and run establishment. We dined on a Wednesday night and were fortunate to snatch a comfy booth right by the entrance. The ambience is like a cozy covered porch with homey accents. They do have an actual front porch with outdoor seating as well for those who want to sit outside. They have a LOT of menu items. Beyond their regular menu they had plenty of interesting specials. Because I absolutely love redfish but also love shrimp and grits, I asked them to make me blackened redfish with shrimp and grits and it was no problem at all. The meal starts with a small basic salad. Then the entrees roll out and you're really in for a treat. The portions are MASSIVE and delicious. I loved my meal. The grits delicious and the two seafood portions could have been meals all on their own. My date had the steak and I tasted it and it was also very good. The prices are very fair and the service is excellent. This will be a regular in the rotation going forward for sure!!

So we popped in last night about 7 and we were slightly underdressed but the staff didn't seem to mind. We ordered some drinks and they were quick to the table. We pondered over the menu but there was a chef's special with a soup, entree, and dessert. We both went with the seafood gumbo, the beef tenderloin, and small dessert (something à la mode). Everything including the side salad we ordered extra was delicious. Really great atmosphere, service, and food. I would absolutely recommend.

Lamb was ordered rare but with the sizzling plate it all turned out medium to medium well which to me ruins lamb. The sides were just ok. Plain mash potatoes with no green on top as garnish barely even taste garlic. Let down by the Brussels sprouts too. Salads were awesome and blue cheese was delicious. Like 527 and Covington location better. But will pass on this one for the price. Drinks were good

We went here for breakfast over the weekend and it won't be our last trip. We met some family here and the place was packed. The tables are small four person tables and there were six of us and they wasted no time at getting comfortably seated. The dining area is small and it was very busy and crowded however, that didn't prevent us from having great service. We ordered and the food was delivered promptly and our waitress was very attentive which amazed me c how busy they were. I had a mixture of things that I put together kinda ala cart if you will. Two biscuits with sausage gravy, two eggs, sausage patties, and home fries. Let's just say that I wasn't expecting the amount of food that I received. The biscuits were huge and the gravy was perfect. The portions were more than what I expected. The place has a great vib and is decorated very neglectful with various things from Madi Gras to mermaid paintings and lots of signage. The parking is ample and easy to get in and out of. So if you're in the Mandeville area definitely stop by and give them a try.

I certainly appreciate them making it work. Crazy Pig has an excellent menu for breakfast with lots of different options We went on a Sunday morning I got one of the omelettes I think mine was the lean omelette Everything comes with bread and or biscuit I can't eat bread or biscuit so our waiter offered me avocado and tomatoes, which were a perfect choice to go with my omelette Most restaurant places that I've been to usually just remove the item without offering a substitution I was so happy with the alternate options I spoke with the owner to let her know that I appreciate having the tomato and the avocado instead of the bread and the biscuit. Then she told me that they just had a class on food allergies This is really exceptional that a restaurant is taking up their own initiative to learn about food allergies so that they can service their customers with better care While the food is definitely excellent with the capacity to offer different options for the different dietary needs that people have and the staff is educated, I just wish that they had better coffee at the Mandeville location like a cappuccino or a café latte Still an excellent choice

The location is perfect -- just a couple of blocks from the high school/stadium and right off downtown. Street parking is limited, but there's a decent-sized lot behind the building. I was especially surprised by the menu. They have the usual American favorites -- burgers, sandwiches, pastas, etc. -- but also some Asian/Hibachi options. My wife got the hummus plate appetizer and really enjoyed it. I went with the Brisket Banh Mi, and it was seriously good. And the French fries? Some of the best I've had in a while. They also have a full bar, and the drinks we ordered hit the spot. I do wish we had ordered the margaritas that passed by our table -- they looked impressive!
