Update. Like my wife last time, I tried and very much enjoyed the small garden salad. It not only had lettuce, cucumber and tomato, but also pitted and sliced black olives and marinated red pepper. Also enjoyed the hot fresh pizza bread and butter for the table. As to their chicken rollatini ala tuscana, their Marsala sauce was good and had a lot of mushrooms, but the chicken wasn't tender throughout and the spinach and cheese stuffing (couldn't taste the cheese) was salty. The $8 glass of Chianti red wine was a excellent. Our waitress was very nice. For three of us, food and drink came to $94.25, but they charged $3.58 for using a credit card and another $8.15 for tax, bringing our total without tip to $105.98. read more

Received delivery last night from friends (thank you!) for dinner. Very nice gesture - so they ordered a good mix. Chicken Marsala, shrimp scampi over linguine, simple broccoli and garlic oil over rigatoni, baked clams, a shrimp and chicken parm, house salad, mozzarella and tomato salad, a chicken stromboli, a rice ball, and some garlic knots. All were really good. And we have leftovers well into the weekend - wish ppl would stop sending food at this point as it is going to start getting wasteful (as appreciative as I am) - it's not like ppl are making Shiva calls during covid. This place is awesome! Usually come here for pizza, takeout and sometimes occasional dinners. Always great food and service! Love it so much my family decided to throw my baby shower here. Room was awesome! Plenty of space for 55 people (you can fit more if needed). Had our own private bathrooms, valet parking, menu options were easy to choose from ahead of time for buffet. There was plenty of food at the buffet and replenished when needed. They have a bar and our package had beer wine and soda included which was great! I was able to bring some items the night before like my big white wicker chair to open gifts in. They loved my chair! They also let us bring our own candy, cookies and cupcakes for the dessert table. The cake they made was sooo good multiple people said that was one of the most freshest delicious cakes they ever had. Staff working my shower was so nice and packaged up in clear bags my baby shower gifts for me. Made it so easy to transport to the car and to my home. Panini and caprese slice same, plus tasteless. Soup was salty and small portioned for $10 lol. Menu is overpriced. Pizza slices are smaller compared to other pizzerias. Man, this place was poppin' when I went on a Wednesday evening at 6:30. Families everywhere, kids stuffing themselves with pizza, waitresses running about. That hostess was like the executive assistant of Warren Buffett or something. I can't believe I even got a table without a reservation. Anyway, our waitress, Christine, was very patient with us, not rushing us to order when we took a long time to figure it out and allowing me to sit there for thirty minutes waiting for my friend. They bring you complimentary bread and butter before you order. I got the pecan salad with buffalo chicken. I loved the salad, but the chicken was pretty dry and tasteless. It even tasted stale. Not worth an extra $6. My friend got the salmon filet, which looked absolutely wonderful. It comes with veggies and pasta as well. I wish I'd gotten what he got! Overall impressed by what seems like a family neighborhood place. If I lived close by, I imagine I'd come here a lot with my parents. Does anyone have any idea why I was not charged the menu price for slices I had yesterday? I happen to notice the receipt when I threw it away, $7 for a buffalo chicken slice, it sounded high so I went online to their website - which it appeared to be $6. Same thing with a Sicilian slice on my receipt, $4.75 and not 3.75 per their menu. It wasn't the credit card charge because that was a separate charge. The pizza was good, just trying to understand this. **EDIT** I found out they charge $1 more if you eat a slice of pizza inside the glorified pizza place. Forget about my $85 bill for the other items I ordered, it was really necessary to add $1 each to the two slices I had with my meal. Complete joke. read more

We passed by this place and decided to give it a try for dinner. We ended up getting a marghertia pie, baked ravioli and two fountain sodas. The pizza was small but wasn't bad. The ravioli tasted like it could've been cooked for another minute and their sauce was ok. They also give you bread which wasn't bad. Just a fyi, the fountain drinks are not free refills, which I noticed after I had already paid. It was a first when we looked at the menu and the prices were cash and credit prices and at first we thought they were small and large prices. La Piazza in Merrick is one of a chain. Visited with friends for dinner. GPS took us right there and as it was busy we park around side street where there was a driveway. Upon entering the table our friends were at was up some stairs, so that spot was not wheelchair accessible. Kind waitress set us up on main floor near kitchen and had our friends move to us. Checked menu before going. Veil parm chicken soup and bronzia fish with spinach were all good .rolls were cold but had been moved from other table. No big deal. I asked 2 times for those little packets of butter and finally our waitress got them. Our friends hero and personal pizza looked good too. We paid cash , so, I don't know what rate a credit card would be. Upon leaving the workers were spraying down water and again the kind waitress with the dark black hair, helped us to our car. Love La Piazza! The Pasta fagioli is delicious, as is their Eggplant invertini, and the pecan salad! Now, there are plenty of places that do a decent meatball pie, but La Piazza blows all of them out of the water. This was my first time ever at the establishment. Upon arrival, there is a parking lot for the restaurant entrance and also a valet parking lot for the catering entrance. The restaurant provided a family-friendly atmosphere and was boisterous in noise. My family and I ordered the Garden Salad for an appetizer, the Grilled Salmon, and the Cavatelli Napolitano. Good food. It just raised prices on all dishes substantially. Some up to 30%! While I understand last year was a difficult time... it was difficult for all. Access to government funds helped small businesses and your loyal customer base should not pay for you to make up what was lost last year. You lost a few customers on my side and while all you need to do is keep 3 out of four customers since you raised prices so high, here's hoping you are not so lucky on that formula. Pasta is always mushy even if you eat there. Most of their food belongs in the garbage. Their only good dish is their pecan salad, but it's exorbantly expensive. In addition, you call them and ask if they're open on Xmas Eve, and they say yes, but you show up and the kitchen is closed. Maybe they should treat their customers with more forethought and respect. I attended a doctors event tonight in the catering room of this restaurant. The catering room is not too large, yet not to small. We started with some bread and butter and a simple house salad. The bread was slightly warm and the butter was spreadable. The house salad was very good. Roasted peppers, olives, onion, tomato cucumber and of course lettuce. A nice house dressing was drizzled on top. With this catering event there was a limited menu. We had a choice of chicken primavera, veal Marsala, and eggplant Parmesan. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, and my mom ordered the veal Marsala. I enjoyed the eggplant Parmesan....however I feel the sauce was a little watery. My mom said her veal tender and soft..not tough. She said it cut like butter! The night ended with coffee and cannolis! The coffee was bleh. Nothing special about the coffee here. The cannolis were excellent though! Mmmm! The catering area of this restaurant is nice for an event to be held. There's a separate bathroom and a small bar area.
