I've been going here for years. Yesterday I went to get my to go order, chaufa, which is the fried rice they have. I'm the middle of eating the rice I noticed something black in it. I went to get it out and it was an insect!!! I called them and they said there was no manager available. So no one is there supervising anyone I guess. Needless to say I won't be going back there again. God knows how many times this happened and I just didn't notice. They obviously got bugs in the kitchen and they cook them with the food. I brought my parents here for a celebration dinner. It's a uniquely decorated space with a hip vibe. They have live music in the evenings as well. Staff were knowledge, friendly, and gave good recommendations. We started with the shrimp causa which was so delicious. My mom got the shrimp saltado and loved it. I had the lomo saltado - the steak was juicy and flavorful. My dad's dish was the star. He had the market whole snapper that came stuffed with cilantro rice, scallops, and lobster. Ambiance is intimate seating, staff greet you and sit you down immediately. You get Peruvian corn as an hors d'oeuvres. Fresh made natural fruit juices available and then I order and receive the lomo salteado. Tender pieces of steak bathed in broth, accompanied by rice & fries, and sweet plantains. First time at La Perla on Fathers Day and everything was delicious! Seating was little tight (no more social distancing) as we were 7 people. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating but it was very hot out today so we chose to sit indoors. The menu is typical Peruvian food with addition of some tasty specials. This is my second time at this restaurant. The service is really great & they greet you with a smile. We came during the lunch rush and were seated right away. On my first visit, I had the Lomo saltado which was cooked perfectly. The flavors were delicious and I literally ate everything on my plate. La Perla is a little hidden gem in Weston. The restaurant is family oriented and has amazing Peruvian food. My husband and I have gone several times and the service is always on point! I love el Lomo Salteado and my husband usually has Ceviche followed by Pescado Sudado. Their prices are reasonable and the food is great! We highly recommend. read more

Soo my family came to visit from Colombia and they were craving Peruvian food and we had no idea where to go. We wanted to stay close to home and my mom said that one of her co workers had suggested La Perla. Of coarse i looked it up on yelp and after scrolling through a couple pictures we decided to head over. It was friday night around 830 so we were expecting to wait because we were a party of 9 but were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and they offered us a table outside right away. We were happy to be sitting outside because we had 3 small kids under the age of 5 with us and there was live music inside and the baby of the bunch was already sleeping. Once our server came and she took our drink ordered. I had the maracuya (passion fruit) lemonade and I thought it was delicious. It was the perfect mix of lemonade and juice which i loved. We also ordered 3 appetizers: a mixed seafood ceviche, the pulpo a la parilla which is grilled octopus, and we also ordered causa de langostinos which is shrimp causa. I absolutely recommend the octopus. the sauce it came in was delicious and the portion was a big size for octopus. My second favorite was the causa. The sauce was perfect and the avocado was really fresh. I also enjoyed the ceviche but I prefer my ceviche spicy however because we were all sharing we had to get the plain one but it was stil good. For the main course we orderd lomo salteado, aroz chaufa de mariscos, and jalea. I loved the jalea the fish was really fresh and it came with two sauces one that was green and the other was while. i preferred the green one as it was spicy. The lomo salteado was really great the sauce was good and the veggies were still a little crunchy however the meat wasnt very tender it was kind of rough which i am not a fan of. Unfortunately I was so full at this point that i didnt have much of the rice i just had a bite or two and from what i remember it was tasty as well. We were all too full to order dessert but i will keep these are one of my favorite restaurants close to home. read more

We were looking for a date night dinner place during the week and Yelp definitely got this one right. Plus it has a FULL BAR - yes please! The restaurant is located in the same plaza as the AMC Weston theater and I probably would not have noticed it unless I was looking for it. The restaurant is actually pretty big if you include the patio but since sweltering summer is here we chose to dine indoors. I love Peruvian food and this is one of the better places I have had in the area. We started with the grilled octopus which was very tasty. Not sure why they cut it up into so many pieces though as I usually like it when the bring out the full tentacle. I thought the Cerviche Mixto was pretty good but it was too lemon-y in my wife's opinion. I had the traditional Aji de Gallina and it was delicious as always. Overall we had a pleasant time here although my only complain is that our waiter was a little diva-ish. He definitely had a bit of an attitude but not enough to ruin the evening. We were looking for something nearby the movies so we wouldn't be late... so La Perla it is! This was a fantastic choice! We walked in and were treated immediately and taken to a table. Cute little restaurant with great Peruvian decor. As we looked around at the other patrons everyone's dish look amazing we didn't know what to get cuz everything looks so good. We started with the fried calamari. Cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. The dipping sauces at it just the Right Touch. My spectacular girlfriend ordered a seafood stew which I couldn't even tell you what it was called. But with the amount of flavor that emanated from this dish you could just call it a little bowl of Heaven! This was a big surprise. In town for business and this place was recommended by an associate who stumbled on it. The location is a strip mall with several other restaurants, so we never would have picked it randomly. There were so many somewhat confusing choices on the menu, that we asked the server to choose for us. She recommended an appetizer sampler that apparently is not on the menu, and it was AMAZING. It had four different seafood dishes, and each one was fantastic. A shrimp/avocado/corn, two different calamari preparations, and a ceviche that was lovely. The seasonings are unique, strong and fragrant. It's rare I don't add salt or a side sauce to a dish, but this needed nothing. And it was enough to feed three of us. Two of us ordered entrees - the shrimp and rice - and the portions were enormous. We could have easily split one. The presentations are fun because everything is garnished with dry ice and comes to your table bubbling over with wispy clouds. We can't wait to go back when we're in town again! read more

Pedimos tallarín saltado, pero la carne quemada me la cambiaron igual estaba salada. El anticucho, la carne estaba dura, mi hija no le gusta decir nada por pena, y se la llevó entera a casa. El cau cau, esa tripa parecía que se la habían sacado a la vaca y sin lavar la cocinaron. El churrasco lo pedimos medium rare y está well done. Jamás vino el manager o el chef a la mesa nunca, ni siquiera la delicadeza de celebrar un cumpleaños. Very good ! I have never been to a Peruvian restaurant today was the first. I have ceviche with corvina, shrimp and octopus. Needed to be service with some bread or chips since was my entree but was very good and took most of it home to enjoy with a piece of bread. I was here with a large group and we all had a wonderful time the only reason for the 4 stars is they refused to give separate checks only a total of 9 checks which was a little hassle for us to figure out.
