I did have a bad experience last week (Friday November 18) on this restaurant, and here it is the details about it: 1. Service wise, my experience was low average. Just as an example, the person who was in charge of us just offered water once. 2. The food was way salty for my taste, as well as for my wife, so having water was not an option. 3. On my experience on several restaurants, tip is always (or almost always) suggested, and just for big party tables is automatic tip included. I do pay tip every single time I visit a place and I am happy to do it, even for places where the services is not too good. The difference is just the percentage: higher for those places where the service is outstanding, lower for bad service experiences. When I requested the bill, the tip was automatically included on it as part of the payment, not as "suggested". a. In addition the percentage was 18%, which I think was quite high for the service we received. 4. To make it worst, when I was paying with my credit card, they offered me the option to add more tip to my payment! I did include some more tip, but do I regret it, because of the bad experience! 5. Tables are so close to each other that the person who was behind me hit my chair several times. 6. There was live music. I do like live music, and just as a suggestion, singer have some room to improve. I probably will not be back, but I really hope the service gets better. read more

The food here is good, desserts are good. Everything is a bit pricey though. Ate for 3 people and spent over $150. Sodas alone came out to $15. They have changed the inside of the venue significantly. It seems more upscale now than it use to be. Live music was playing on Sunday and was way too loud for the size of this location. Waitress spoke to us like we were 4 year olds. read more

Good food but prices are almost compare to a high end restaurant in south beach .... Been there 2 times

Thanks to the manager Jose today who did an ok job but the people here already know that they include the tip already so they pay no attention to the customers , the only reason I put one star other than it's the lowest possible is how good the food is , Don't get me wrong THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE here but the customer service is similar to McDonald's read more

Ridiculously good.. try the Jalea Mixto and you won't be disappointed. The aji is also incredible. It really goes well with everything. Lots of flavor and enormous portions. I'll be eating my delicious leftovers for at least two more days, and I'm not sad about that. read more

Being in the catering business and being Peruvian I can appreciate good Peruvian food like the perla. My favorite dish is the civiche mixto medium. It's so good and fresh always. Just had the seafood chaufa Friday night it was a hit! Try the pisco sour but these little drinks can get expensive so don't order too many. Love this place. read more

The food was ok, the service was average and the prices are reasonable. The decoration in the place is kind of sad and they don't have as much variety for deserts. read more

We had the traditional ceviche as our appetizer and we loved every bite - the seafood was amazing and the Peruvian corn on the side was a real treat. We both ordered el Macho fish with seafood and it was delicious. The portions are huge - we could have easily split a meal. Our waitress, Vanessa, was very nice and very attentive - she was an absolute pleasure to have as a waitress. The restaurant was very nice and clean inside. We will definitely be back. read more

Excellent restaurant and awesone service. We love their Ceviche and specially their hot home made sauces. Thank you!

The Best Peruvian Restaurant in Florida. Great customer service. Staff very friendly. I'm really picky when it comes to food and restaurant sanitation. Atmosphere very clean and great place to eat. This restaurant surpass my standards. I'm visiting from Los Angeles, CA and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my other friends that will be visiting Miami soon. So worth the Drive. Food is extremely delicious. I will definitely visit this restaurant again. read more

Best "Papas a la Huancaina" in all South Florida. If you like a good Peruvian vegetarian food, you must come to this place. Nice atmosphere and excellent services. And you should always ask for Chef Pepe specials, he will delight you with his specials, and he will adjust the dishes to please your palate. read more

Great food, decent service, and good pricing. Would have given this 4 stars but the water they give you is super dirty. Multiple glasses game infected with foreign objects inside of them. read more

I have had plenty of meals at La Perla over the years, the food is great but the place has never been as clean as it should, the food definitely outweighs that fact. I went for lunch today with my mother and aunt, service as friendly as ever. The restaurant had a large party and a table of three, we requested to be sat outside because there was a terrible smell.. I am typically very understanding about stuff like this specially if the food is great, but honestly it smelled like something died.. no joke it was bad, and since I eat there often, I can tell you it was out of character for the place to smell that bad. The host just smiled and said we where the first to mention it. We lost our confidence and decided to leave, mentioned to the waiter who said ok with a terrible attitude, turned his back and walked away.. horrible experience.. just feel bad I missed out on the ceviche this time, and most likely I will find another place that keeps their restaurant clean as they all should read more

I went there for lunch today, first time since they have reopened. The décor has improved but their pricing is out of control!! The waiter recommended a new dish, (as they have changed the menu somewhat) it was samplers of different dishes (ceviche, mussels, octopus with olives to name a few). He showed me pictures, described it in detail, however, he failed to mention the price tag attached! My mouth fell to the floor when we received the bill.... $45!!! It wasn't like I had filet mignon or lobster tail! On top of that, it wasn't even that good, two of the items were inedible in my book!! This is not the first time they have been deceitful about pricing. There were several times when they added gratuity onto the check without us knowing. They would also give us the canned soda so we had to pay for refills, even though they had the fountain drinks. Maybe it's because we're gringos, they think it's ok to do this! Well this is the last time my friends! Sorry to say I won't be back! For that price I can have a gourmet meal at Ruth Chris!! read more

the place is nice, the service makes the food is bad, I was a Monday but the waitress had very important matters on his cell phone when he seemed to ask for food was her first day read more

I am Peruvian-American and therefore a Peruvian lover and connoisseur of good Peruvian cuisine. I honestly have to say that I was very disappointed with this restaurant that several people had recommended. I'll give them credit for the quality of some of the food; however, not the best of Peruvian cuisine I've had in South Florida (Francesco, or La Cofradia en Coral Gables surpasses them in every way). The service was a DISASTER (I saw another review with the same complaint here). We had to twist our necks at least five times just to the get the attention of the waiter or waitress; apparently they had a water scarce problem as we could not get it when asked. We asked for the "must have" aji on our table and they brought a TINY plastic container with a little bit of it whereas in other restaurant they would bring you a porcelain container with several types of aji for you to enjoy. I felt I was in a fast food restaurant to say the least. We had to keep asking for more. But here's our BIG "Oh, I'm not coming here again": I asked the waitress for "anticuchos", an appetizer consisting of heart marinated meat; to which she, after taking the menu from my hand, asked: "It comes in two styles: One with "papa a la huancaina" and the other one with grilled potatoes." I replied: I'll get the first one." Never did she say, and I find this to be very deceiving, "The first one is a LOT more expensive." I did not particularly enjoy it too much as I found it to be a bit hard (the meat). Regardless, I did not complain and ate a small portion of it. When the bill came and I asked about the different in price, which had jumped from $8.95 to $13.95. The Manager (owner?)came to the table upset and with a big attitude because I had made a remark about it. I thanked her for coming to the table so fast this time, as her crew of servers had not, and she proceeded to enter into an argument with me over the dish price. I could not believe she was calling it, "My problem". I simply told her to adjust the proper price! No customer service skills or knowledge of how a restaurant in the U.S. serves its customers did this Peruvian native "Manager" have, I'll tell you... needless to say, not a restaurant I would go visit again. :( The good thing is there are dozens of EXCELLENT Peruvian restaurants to pick from in South Florida! :) read more
