The vibe of La Esquina is super casual - there's a decently-sized dining area with a bar towards the back that serves as a focal point. Additionally, they have some larger format rice dishes that are meant to be shared. We decided on tapas as well as one of the rice dishes - because why not both? For tapas, we ordered two skewers: pork and sea bass, croquettes, pimientos, patatas bravas, and steak tartate croissants. All the tapas were great - though the croissants and patatas were the biggest standouts. The latter were cooked perfectly and had a generous helping of sauces, while the former was super creative and delicious. Our rice dish had cuttlefish and prawns that was seasoned well and prepared in a tasty squid ink sauce. The rice was slightly firm, and that cuttlefish really came through. This was similar to a crème brûlée, but topped with a thin layer of caramel. It was really good, surprisingly not overly sweet and a great finisher to our meal.
