    Rice with Lobster
    Michelle S.

We stopped into Salt one day while strolling and it started to rain on us. We didn't realize that it was part of the W Hotel until we tried to get seated and they weren't sure they could seat people that weren't staying at the hotel. I found that kind of odd. But, we were seated and asked some questions about the menu. We started with the Bread With Tomato and was surprised to find that it wasn't bread that was rubbed with tomato but bread with pieces of tomato and a whole garlic clove. It was still nice. I was able to rub how much garlic I wanted on the bread and ate the quartered tomatoes with it along with the various salts that were brought out. For lunch, we chose the Rice with lobster dish. It was SO GOOD! Rice, in a rich, brown sauce, cuttlefish and a whole lobster. The only downside was that the lobster was served in the shell. I realize that this provides seasoning and such but the dish was hot cauldron of food making it really too hot to handle the lobster not to mention the slippery gravy all over our hands. We managed but it would've been nice if the lobster was shelled. One of our favorite dishes in Barcelona.

This restaurant is not exactly inside of W hotel but it's inside the complex right by the beach, if you're an American you'll love this place, their food is the closest to American restaurants taste. You can even order cocktails that's not on the menu, they will make it for you. The restaurant is right at the beach walkway, forget about enjoying sunset, you can't see any sunset in this beach but you'll still get the ambiance. Server were very good and speak English. My fish tacos were delicious and the cocktails were strong. You can also hear the music from the club upstairs. Great place to enjoy your afternoon, a bit expensive but it's expected since it's in the barcelonita w hotel.

When we came to this restaurant, it was absolutely deserted. All the other restaurants seemed so lively but this one was completely empty. The portions were too big or too small. Also, there are no vegetarian options on their menu. Luckily, they had a special menu for Christmas time with one vegetarian option.

AMAZING AMAZING restaurant. The location itself is cool - right under the W Barcelona and walking distance to the Bitch. I was in Barcelona during Merci, so through dinner they were doing a firework show you can see from the bar! It was amazing. The restaurant is definitely pricey, but the food was DELICIOUS. I was craving american food when I was in Barcelona and this hit the spot! Meal: Salt Icon 2.0 - This burger was AMAZING and HUGE! The portions are definitely great, but for myself too much food. Great burger. The fries were also delicious. Drink: Champagne Sangria - I hadn't had champagne sangria before, only white or red wine in the states. The taste was great!

Our recent trip to Spain was a first for me and my partner. We had issues acclimating to the culture, food, etc being meat and potato eaters. Combined with jet lag, I felt I may have to starve for the entire week. Fortunately, we decided to explore the restaurants within our hotel, the W. And we found Salt. Yes I know it's burgers and fries. But it wasn't just the food and drinks that earned the 5 star review. It was the staff. From Anna the hostess, to our waiter and bartender whose names escape me, the staff were amazing. They all approached the table at one point or another to make sure we were taken care of. And finally, the ambiance of sitting at the Mediterranean just cannot be beat. Salt was one of our best eatery experiences between Madrid and Barcelona. I highly recommend it.

The beachfront bar at SALT is extraordinary!!! Spectacular view of La Barceloneta beach. Terrific seats on the sand, great atmosphere & fun music. Strong recommendation for the end of your day and slip into a delicious night. My hubby loved the Sagria Cava... champagne sangria!

Do expect a wait time or enter their queue when it opens to expedite that process. We started there one night and there was a long line out the door. We decided not to wait as it was already midnight (late for us!) and come back the next night. I'm glad we did, because there was minimal line and we entered the queue before anyone else, so we were able to enter rather quickly. It was the coolest speakeasy vibe and fun ambiance. We sat at the bar and quickly observed the menu. The menu was lit up, which I thought was pretty unique. It took a little bit of time for the server to assist us, but it was evident she was super busy. My drink came in a skull with a "brain" that was actually edible sorbet. It was vodka and not too strong but also not too sweet. Honestly, I wish I had more! My husband ordered somewhat of an old fashion that he said was the best he ever had. Highly recommend if you're in Barcelona!

If you are into novelty cocktail bars, Paradiso is definitely a great place to check out! I arrived…read morearound 7pm to a decently sized line; my party of 2 didn't get seated until 30-45 minutes afterwards. I did read that there would be QR code for a virtual queue, but we didn't see that option and just ended up waiting in line ourselves. I was worried Paradiso would have a snobby vibe to it, since it is ranked #4 in the world, but that wasn't the case at all! The servers were very friendly and the cocktails were genuinely delicious. There's also a sense of theatre when they present you with their specialty cocktails. For example, I ordered the Gravity cocktail (reminiscent of an espresso martini), and our server brought it in an interesting bowl meant to mimic a black hole and also gave a little background story to the cocktail. They provide menus in Spanish, Catalan, and English. Servers also speak English as well, so communication is not an issue. The interior is gorgeous and and had great moody lighting, there was also a great playlist on with classic pop songs. Their cocktail menu is unique and as previously mentioned, I especially loved their presentation. Most of their drinks are served in some funky cup or bowl, it was so fun seeing the servers bring out other cocktails to other tables. Overall, a 5/5 experience for me!

Really enjoyed this bar and we can see why it's been named in the top 50 bars…read more The bartender was really engaging with the people which we enjoyed. The drinks were 8/10 The ambiance was generic but we had a good time. Definitely recommend trying it.

Wow did we want to give this place 5 stars…read more The bartenders were great and welcoming and the decor was very cool. It is a pleasant place to be physically. All of the cocktails we tried were excellent (we had two more not featured on photos here). We went Sunday 4/19 around open (5pm ish until 7:30 ish). However, our experience was sort of ruined when a female employee came over and chided my wife and two other American patrons we were talking to for being too loud. They weren't being particularly loud and at this point we were the only four people sitting at the bar itself. She was not a bartender (at that time at least) and she completely ruined our vibe with this complaint. She had been eyeing one of the other American patrons we had been talking to before she came over and confronted my wife after she laughed. The bar tenders didn't seem to be aware this happened and when we were closing out they remarked they didn't think we had been loud and that they like their guests to have fun. This female employee apparently didn't get the memo! We sense that perhaps she just dislikes Americans, which would be rich for working at an establishment like this! She also had no issues when a dog other guests brought in barked loudly multiple times, each time silencing the entire bar because the barks were so booming. The other American couple felt the same way -- the stern talking to just ruined the experience for all four of us. So... great spot but our experience was unnecessarily tarnished by a jerk employee!!!
