Was wandering the hectic Barcelona streets looking for an the perfect apertivo spot, and I finally found it here. I was fresh off a night out and then a 45 min wait in the Bo de B line, so needed to just get off my legs and post up for a bit. I was aimlessly wandering toward the W and found this cozy little cabana-esque spot that wasn't crowded, so I decided this was it. What a building that W is by the way. I need to look up the architect of that. He's doing his thang. Sitting here, you are right on the beach protect from the sun rays with beautiful white umbrellas as the W looks down over you, with an option to sit in these lounge chairs where your feet are in the sand. Luxury. Definitely more expensive than most other spots around, but I was willing to pay extra for the vibes. 4 stars because the price and the spritz was kinda mid. read more

Food was actually pretty good but the service at lunch was surprisingly bad hahah. Only about half of the patio was full...not including the inside part and the staff was not able to handle our small group. It may just be that it is a new staff! They forgot one our out tapas selections, took our plates before we were finished, and also didn't fully know the menu. Lots of pointing and raising hands to get their attention which is uncomfortable to do. Last they had a full photo shoot going on to promote the restraunt! All is good though. Staff training is needed asap! read more

We stopped into Salt one day while strolling and it started to rain on us. We didn't realize that it was part of the W Hotel until we tried to get seated and they weren't sure they could seat people that weren't staying at the hotel. I found that kind of odd. But, we were seated and asked some questions about the menu. We started with the Bread With Tomato and was surprised to find that it wasn't bread that was rubbed with tomato but bread with pieces of tomato and a whole garlic clove. It was still nice. I was able to rub how much garlic I wanted on the bread and ate the quartered tomatoes with it along with the various salts that were brought out. For lunch, we chose the Rice with lobster dish. It was SO GOOD! Rice, in a rich, brown sauce, cuttlefish and a whole lobster. The only downside was that the lobster was served in the shell. I realize that this provides seasoning and such but the dish was hot cauldron of food making it really too hot to handle the lobster not to mention the slippery gravy all over our hands. We managed but it would've been nice if the lobster was shelled. One of our favorite dishes in Barcelona. read more

This restaurant is not exactly inside of W hotel but it's inside the complex right by the beach, if you're an American you'll love this place, their food is the closest to American restaurants taste. You can even order cocktails that's not on the menu, they will make it for you. The restaurant is right at the beach walkway, forget about enjoying sunset, you can't see any sunset in this beach but you'll still get the ambiance. Server were very good and speak English. My fish tacos were delicious and the cocktails were strong. You can also hear the music from the club upstairs. Great place to enjoy your afternoon, a bit expensive but it's expected since it's in the barcelonita w hotel. read more

We booked this for my sisters 30th. We also had a surprise bottle of tequila ordered. They came over 3 times to ask about the tequila - which was then no longer a surprise. They then brought a warm tequila bottle over and put it on the table - no sparklers as listed. A third of the food ordered came before the drinks. The staff were uninterested and incredibly slow. The food was awful and extremely over priced. The crispy goats cheese salad was batter with a small amount of goats cheese on leaves. The SALT bravas were potatoes and a dollop of sauce. The selection of breads was 4 slices of the same bread. The prawn croquettes were sloppy. The cookie was over baked, rock hard and grainy. For the amount of money charged there should be some attention to detail and at least an attempt at creating a good experience. read more

When we came to this restaurant, it was absolutely deserted. All the other restaurants seemed so lively but this one was completely empty. The portions were too big or too small. Also, there are no vegetarian options on their menu. Luckily, they had a special menu for Christmas time with one vegetarian option. read more

This was probably the only stop we made during our Barcelona trip that had American fare. But we really only came to drink. We only ordered a couple appetizers that were fine but way overpriced. The Shrimp Pops were 5 small shrimp that were panko fried and cost 17€. That's about 7€ more than it should be, but it's part of the W, so it's to be expected. But because I was getting spoiled on amazing tapas meals around Barcelona for a lot cheaper, this felt like straight robbery. The view was nice though from their open patio. A much better place to drink than eat for sure. read more

AMAZING AMAZING restaurant. The location itself is cool - right under the W Barcelona and walking distance to the Bitch. I was in Barcelona during Merci, so through dinner they were doing a firework show you can see from the bar! It was amazing. The restaurant is definitely pricey, but the food was DELICIOUS. I was craving american food when I was in Barcelona and this hit the spot! Meal: Salt Icon 2.0 - This burger was AMAZING and HUGE! The portions are definitely great, but for myself too much food. The location is 5 stars! The burger was definitely fine! Sadly it didn't meet my expectations, something was missing on it. The food is served with a wooden fork and knife which is a totally bad idea to be honest and even worse the wine was served in a out washed plastic glass. Our recent trip to Spain was a first for me and my partner. We had issues acclimating to the culture, food, etc being meat and potato eaters. Combined with jet lag, I felt I may have to starve for the entire week. Fortunately, we decided to explore the restaurants within our hotel, the W. And we found Salt. Yes I know it's burgers and fries. But it wasn't just the food and drinks that earned the 5 star review. It was the staff. From Anna the hostess, to our waiter and bartender whose names escape me, the staff were amazing. They all approached the table at one point or another to make sure we were taken care of. And finally, the ambiance of sitting at the Mediterranean just cannot be beat. Salt was one of our best eatery experiences between Madrid and Barcelona. I highly recommend it. read more

1 hour and 10 minutes later I get my not so good natchos. 30 minutes after we ask for the check, we get the check. We were on vacation so we didn't really care, we enjoyed the view and the atmosphere. I got a Corona but people in my left got cocktails which basically was all ice, not worth it at all. If I lived in Barcelona, now that would have been a different story, I would give them 1 star but sine I am on vacation mode, they get away with 3 stars. read more

The manager Mathieu and his amazingly charming staff will make your meal at Salt one you'll remember. The food is delicious - classic and casual dishes with just the right Catalan touch. Pao and Javi at the bar are the perfect mixologist team. There is no beating the location and the atmosphere is beach/ resort chic. Do yourself a favor and skip some of the more complicated restaurants in town and let yourself unwind with the staff at Salt. read more
