From what I could see on the first floor, there were four sales associates with no other customers. I was never offered a showing of anything on other floors (they have several, i believe?) One person appeared to be assigned to help me, but she kept saying "no, we don't have anything like that" when I was asking for basic work wear. If you're in the market for a pink ballgown or a logo t shirt, this may be the place for you. But you have to enjoy feeling like you're bothering the sales staff by merely being there. Too bad - honestly I was ready to drop some dough, but they weren't interested. I should go back and do the Pretty Woman "big mistake. Huge" thing, but it's not worth my time.

I was even looking for a Yelp line which was no where to be found. This was my first sample sale ever which was quite an interesting experience. So here is the low down on how to shop here. Take a deep breath and be prepared for anything. Patience is a virtue as the saying goes for there will be line to check in/check out your coat and handbag, prior to getting into the fitting room to try out clothes and lines for being rung up at the cash register. As you walk in the building there is someone that you need to check in with, after this you head into the area and stay on the far left to check in your coat and bag. If you are on the right that is the check out for purchases. We were on that line for a while before we figured it out. The check in person was not specific on which side to go and what to do. Get ready folks there will be a line to check in coats and your handbags (small handbag you can bring with you). They provide you with a number ticket and ask for the initials of your full name which they write on the ticket stub and retain. Make sure you on the right line to check in coats and bags because there is another line close by for when you return ticket to pick up your coat and handbag prior to leaving. **There needs to be more efficient way to put the handbags with the coats together. At first, the staff gave my friend her coat but could not find her handbag then inquired what it looked like. He went back to look for handbag and bought it back out. After checking in coat and handbag, go over to the staff member who will hand you a Gilt shopping bag. This is the bag you load up all items you going to purchase later. Head up the stairs and that is where all the shopping begins. The first booth right upstairs was Dove. They were giving out samples of Invisible Dry Spray Antiperspirant. They were regular size too. Impressive!!! Also mini facials & makeup application booth right across from Dove. The girls were working hard. DJ Rose played great music and made searching for clothes on the racks less tiresome. You really have to search for the bargains. The same dress I bought was marked a different price on another dress. Coco Community Coconut poured teeny weeny sample. Wish they were giving out some of the bottles out. How stingy can you be? The only alcohol drinks available were Mount Gay Rum- Rum punch samples were so good. Had two samples. There was ample supply and they were not stingy with the sampling. There were no food around at all and we were there for quite some time. When I went to pay for my two dresses. The staff at the register charged tax which in New York City there is no tax for items under $110. The staff member was like there is tax, then she went to ask another staff member. My friend and I were shocked? How can you charge tax on clothing when every other apparel store in NYC does not charge tax. She made the necessary changes after checking with staff member. Now, consider this 1,000 people purchase clothes under the amount of $110 and got taxed how much money did Gilt make? What a rip off. Major Tip!!!-**Check your receipt** I am happy and lucky that I won tickets and did not have to pay an entrance fee. Yes, the clothes are designer ones and even though they say 80% mark down, the prices are jacked up. You can get better bargains elsewhere. It was good going to this thing once. There are too many sample sales all across NYC and they do not charge an entrance fee.
