First time at La Michoacana Plus on Aquarium Way. Fun experience and great customer service. The staff and server were very attentive and helpful. The lady at the counter informed me of all their ingredients to make sure there are no peanuts nor tree nuts in the Agua Frescas and Nachos. The Mangonadas has tamarind which is part of the Legumes Family so they made sure there was no cross contamination with the Agua Frescas and Nachos. This La Michoacana Plus location is spacious and has huge windows. The light shines through the windows which is great. The establishment is also clean. I've been to other michoacana locations in/around the Long Beach area. And as a visitor-they mostly seem the same. Can't really review as to the quality of their non packaged items-as my husband and I had their avocado pop. Definitely recommend if you like avocado. Since I was so hungry, I devoured the first layer of esquites after mixing and it tasted pretty good! Corn was sweet, Hot Cheetos plenty and crunchy, decent amount of Cotija cheese. Not much butter or mayo though honestly, but when I reached the layer at the bottom of the esquites, it was SUPER watery and soggy. Like they just dumped the rest of a can of corn in it. It was so unappetizing I had to toss it. Skip it, you're probably better off getting something from the pier food vendors. read more

I am giving them 2 stars mainly because they do not have prices available for the customer to see. You have to scan a QR code to know what they sell and the employees give you a disclaimer that the prices on that menu are outdated. Also, I found the place to bit a bit dirty and not inviting to stay there and eat. I grew up going to a Michoacana in Mexico so whenever I see one, I immediately want to check it out. Not the best La Michoacana I've been to, but I still enjoyed it. I think my favorite part is the aesthetic of it. Beautiful lights and very colorful! I got lime sorbet and strawberry sorbet with tajin. I wish they had put some of the tajin on the bottom parts as it was only on top. The ice cream itself was okay. The flavors weren't strong enough in my opinion, especially the strawberry. There were also a lot of hard ice chunks in the lime making me think the ice cream is older and potentially freezer burned. A sorbet should be very smooth with every bite. read more

Anyways, it's located near the Long Beach Pike Outlets so you can do some shopping or take a stroll over to the Lions Lighthouse a few minutes away and look at the cruise ships passing by. They have so many flavor options that it was a bit difficult to choose. The main items that they have are ice pops and ice cream, but also have some other novelty drinks. They have some classic flavors as well as many more unique ones such as gummy bears, mangonada, guava and more! I ended up getting a Strawberry Kiwi Ice Pop and it hit the spot. Typically, when I walk over from my office, I always have a craving for this place. There's mainly one woman who I always see by herself, and she's an absolute sweetheart; very patient, accommodating, and customer oriented. This is also why I always refer my clients. However, today had me irritated. The previous week, I bought the MangoNeada, and the sweet younger woman allowed me to keep my ice cream bar on the side, still wrapped. My order was perfect! Today, there was another older woman, and when I requested not to have my pick of choice ice cream inside, she told me she would charge me additional. What additional cost am I paying for when it comes with my order? The plastic it's wrapped in. When I explained that it wasn't an issue the previous week, she immediately resorted to "I'm the manager," which has no relevance to the inconsistencies. If anything, the proper way of holding that badge of honor is to simply say that you can make an exception, though moving forward, these are our company protocols. Furthermore, she added cucumbers instead of the mango chunks that the video clearly shows. Even the younger girl looked at my order, knowing it wasn't correct. I'm an office manager myself, and I always find a solution, resolution, or try my best to accommodate my clients before flinging the manager badge as though you're trying to compensate.
