It's refreshing, delicious, and perfect for sharing with friends. The desserts also come out pretty quickly. You can order directly with the staff or use the kiosk, which is nice because it has pictures of the menu items. Seating inside is a bit limited when it gets busy, which is probably the only downside. The inside is decorated so cute with pandas. I stayed there with my friends until closing, and even though everything else in the plaza was already closed, the worker was nice and let us use the restroom inside the store even though it was employee only. Will definitely be coming back!

Really reminds me of the mochi back in China and Taiwan. I honestly can't stop ordering the black sesame flavor. My second favorite is the nutty flavor too, which somehow feels both comforting and dangerously easy to finish way too fast. I also love their other desert Chewy Clouds. If I'm going to embrace the carbs, I might as well do it with the cute bear-shaped ones. They're soft, chewy, and just fun to eat. The whole place leans into that playful dessert vibe without feeling too over the top, and service was fast too.

They have a converted shiny little Airstream with a big "Shave Ice" sign at the top, so you can't miss it. They make a great (and HUGE) shaved ice treat with tons of syrup flavors, and their coffees are great too! I ordered the Toasted Marshmallow latte and it was fantastic. What's unique about Mermaid Cove is that their milk options are whole, oatmilk, and 2% lactose free milk. I have never seen lactose free milk at a coffee shop before, and I totally appreciate that as someone who has become lactose intolerant, and usually has to have oat or almond milk as an alternative. Looking forward to seeing them at another event!

We had a Hawaiian-themed party at our office last week, and we knew it wouldn't be complete without some authentic shave ice. Mermaid Cove didn't disappoint! They serve their shave ice and speciality coffee through this cute silver Airstream with big letters on top saying, Shave Ice! The decor was very cute and welcoming. They offer over 35 flavors of shave ice, and a selection of toppings- from condensed milk to popping boba. As an added bonus, they include complimentary specialty coffee with their 2 hour service. I opted for the guava and passion fruit shave ice with condensed milk, and let me tell you, their ice is as fluffy as what you'd find in Hawaii! The caramel latte I had was also amazingly good. Our employees couldn't stop raving about both the shave ice and the coffee. A big shoutout to the owners, Michael and Jackie, for their wonderful hospitality and for providing such high-quality, delicious treats. I highly recommend Mermaid Cove Shave Ice for any event- you won't be disappointed!

The Highlights: Soufflé Pancakes: These are the stars of the show. Incredibly fluffy, light, and airy--they practically melt in your mouth. Topped with fresh strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar, they are as delicious as they are "Instagrammable." Breakfast Burrito: This is a hearty, well-executed classic. It's packed with high-quality ingredients, perfectly toasted on the outside, and served with a side of salsa verde that adds just the right amount of kick. Matcha Latte: Not only was the heart-shaped latte art beautiful, but the matcha itself was high-grade--vibrant, smooth, and not overly sweet.

While the plaza has a fairly large parking lot, many people still take up their spots to eat at one of the many restaurants or shop at the supermarket. The café felt homey with a few wooden round tables and an afternoon soap opera playing the background. I had the almond milk tea ($4.50). They added a 3.78% credit card fee to my receipt, which came out to 17 cents. However, storekeeper did not disclose that surcharge. I didn't view that as financially responsible of the restaurant. Although I wasn't very familiar with the taste of almond milk, I thought that the drink was a little too sweet.

Inside, it is a small mom and pop with two tables with seats and the TV playing a random movie. The menu is homemade and left on the counter. I got the fruit tea for $5.25 small. I paid with credit card and apparently there was a surcharge but the lady never told me. That was a bit frustrating. When I told her my order, I had to repeat myself a few times too. The taste of the tea was good at least though a bit sweet. I could see her making it in front of me and it took her a while. I think she even did a taste test which made me feel a bit strange. Thankfully the tea was good.
