Here is a synopsis based on the facts and reinforced from the detailed journal that I kept and still keep through all interaction concerning my New 2012 Mercedez Benz Fleetwood Tioga Dsl. Mr. Juavier Castro a customer service Manager at La Mesa R.V. in San Diego, and Kevin Hicks, service Manager at La. Mesa R.V. in Davis, ca. supported immoral practices, unethical acts, that lead to the damage of my new 2012 Mercedez Benz R.V. On 4-3-13, I took my vehicle in for an oil change at a Mercedez Benz dealership. As a result, the technician accidentally hit the top of an overhang and damaged the Air Conditioner unit on top of my vehicle. I immediately called the Fleetwood corporate office, and talked to a rep. named Brian concerning my insurance coverage at approx. 9:00 am on 4-4-13. He confirmed that I was covered for any work that needed to be done on my R.V. I then called La Mesa R.V. in Davis on 4-4-13, at approx. 9:20 a.m. and talked to a rep. name Joe and explained the problem. I told them that Kerry (Manager) at Mercedez Benz agreed to pay for all damages. I also gave him Kerry's number and address at Mercedez Benz. Joe told me that he would verify my insurance with Fleetwood, and my extended warranty insurance with Cornerstone. He told me that my appointment would be on 4-15-13 at 9:00 a.m. On 4-10-13, I stopped by La Mesa R.V. and talked to Joe. He told me that he had to reschedule, because he thought the parts would not come in by the 15th and that he would reschedule the appointment for the 4-16-13. He also said that everything was checked out and verified with both our insurances, (Fleetwood warranty, and the extended warranty with Cornerstone) so he would see me at on 4-16-13.
Jordan dropped the vehicle at approx. 8:30 a.m. on 4-26-13. He immediately left and walked into Davis, California and had breakfast and waited for La Mesa R.V. to call him. he received a call earlier than anticipated at approx. 11:30 a.m. stating that the vehicle was repaired and ready to pick up. When I arrived, Alex the tech. that worked on the vehicle, stated that the leak under the sink was solved, because he tightened up all the joints, etc. He also said, that he replaced the Air conditioner, the back brake lights, replaced the D.V.D player, and that there was no problem with the heater vents. They were going to keep the Air Conditioner, for themselves, but just before he left, Jordan asked for it back, and under State law they are required to give it back, and they did.
When I first called La Mesa R.V. in Davis, to schedule an appointment, I had both a brand new full factory warranty with Fleetwood corp., and in addition I paid a substantial amount of money for an extended warranty under Cornerstone insurance to cover anything that happens to the vehicle after the factory warranty expires. I had double coverage for any repairs. Any work that needed to be done to my vehicle was covered by 2 individual insurance companies.
On 5-2-13, at approx. 10:50 a.m. only a few days after my 4-26-13 repair appointment, I informed Mr. Hicks (the Service manager) I now had a larger leak under the sink, that is damaging my cabinets, and that the brake lights still were not working properly. He called back 10:59 a.m. and told us that he would have to talk to his corporate office, and see what he could do. He also said not to worry, that either way, that it would be taken care of, even if I had to take it somewhere else. On 5-3-13, at approx. 11:29 a.m., I called another R.V. repair shop, and scheduled for another appointment, that was scheduled for 6-4-13. After looking at the my vehicle Diego the tech and Larry the manager of the R.V. repair shop assessed that the water pump connection had been cross threaded and damaged by La Mesa R.V., causing a major leak. They told that they would verify this fact if needed to be verified. ** I have attached a copy of the repair bill to this email, and analysis of the cause of the leak. **
The next day on 6-5-13, I called Fleetwood corp, and talked to a rep. named Robert, and he informed me that I should call La. Mesa R.V., and request that they compensate me for the damages that I paid, and the other damages that occurred under there care. I emailed Mr. Hicks (the Service Manager, at La Mesa R.V. in Davis) on 6-11-13, my request concerning La. Mesa R.V. solving the damages they subjected to my vehicle. I also emailed Mr. Castro (customer relations manager, La Mesa R.V. in San Diego). I also called Mr. Castro at approx. 9 a.m. on 6-12-13. He was very unpolished, unethical and rude, when I called him. La Mesa R.V. in Davis, and La Mesa R.V. in San Diego, refuse to repair or compensate me, for the major damage that they have caused. read more
