Visited La Mar Cebicheria Peruana on March 14, around 5 PM with a group of four. The place was pretty busy, so reservations are definitely a good idea. There was a lot of staff working and the service was great the whole time. Our server was friendly and attentive, and everything came out at a good pace even with a full restaurant. The drinks were amazing. We tried the Lychee Sour, Sammamish Spritz, and an Espresso Martini, and all of them were really well made and balanced. For food we started with the Papitas Peruanas, crispy Peruvian potatoes with queso fresco, huacatay, and rocoto (contains gluten and dairy). The flavors were good, but the potatoes were a little dry, which was the only small downside of the meal. We also ordered the Cebiche Tasting, which was excellent and very fresh -- a great way to try different styles of ceviche. Another dish we tried was Roquitas Nikkei, which had a really nice flavor and texture. For mains we had the Arroz con Mariscos, a Peruvian seafood rice dish similar to paella, and it was packed with seafood and very flavorful. We also tried the Quinoa Caprese, which was lighter but still very tasty. For dessert we shared the Tres Leches de Coco and sorbet, which were both a great way to finish the meal. Overall the food, drinks, and service were really good. The atmosphere was lively and you can tell they have a strong team working there. The only reason I'm giving 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because the potatoes were a little dry and the place is on the pricier side, but overall it was still a great experience. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Bellevue.

First time here on a whim looking for something different. Sunday night it wasn't too busy and we were able to get reservations booked on the drive into Bellevue. We weren't sure if the prices are aligned with what we ordered. But don't get me wrong, we the food was full of flavor and the presentation beautiful. Would consider this place to bring out of town guests or clients. Very nice, hip, vibe with nice decor. Service was friendly and they checked in on us often. We had the cebiche tasting menu, side of yuca fries, and split the arroz con mariscos. Cocktails were beautiful: pisco and fresa del sol. The stand out was by far the dessert! I would come back again and again just for the tres leches. One of the best desserts we've had in a while... I will probably be dreaming about it over the next few days.

La Mar is such a cute and fun spot! My brother and I took our mom there for Mother's Day and got the $79/person tasting menu for all three of us. Each course was bursting with flavor and our server thoroughly explained each course. They had a card on the table for my mom signed by the staff wishing her a happy Mother's Day. And she got sent home with a cute little box of house made chocolates as well! Such a memorable meal and can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu.

Been here a few times now. First the food and service is always top notch! The staff is friendly and attentive to anything you need. The flavor of the food is exotic and fresh. It's really worth trying. It's pricey for what you get so we don't come often but we have been here 3 times and the bill is the only challenge.

Beautiful decoration with fresh seafood display up front. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The ceviche was refreshing and delicious! I would come back just for that. The lunch set was good and ended with a leche dessert that has just the right amount of sweetness and coconut flavor.

Amazing Peruvian restaurant in the Bellevue area. Everything we ate was excellently prepared. The cocktails were great. Our server was very kind, the seating area is large - I ended up ordering the executive lunch. The stars of the show were the arroz con mariscos and the tees leches. Presentation was beautiful and all the seafood was bursting with flavor. Cannot recommend enough for a special occasion or just want a great meal.

Space is nice and food is good. Portions are really small for the price. There was a snafu with reservations but after waiting an hour or two, they were able to fit us in. So, nice of them but also extremely inconvenient and disorganized. Just another overpriced restaurant in Bellevue, but I guess since that's all that's there, this isn't a bad choice.

The food popped with flavor. As each dish came out, the latest dish became our favorite. The server was helpful and explained the menu and kept our water glasses full. The place was on Main street but not the downtown area. Parking in the garage was plentiful and free with validation. Our favorite was the fish and the dessert.

La Mar easily because one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The quality and craftsmanship of each dish to the cocktails are top tier. The team was very open and excited to share their thoughts on menu items that made it difficult to not order the whole menu. The location itself was beautiful. Featuring low lit dinner lighting, various dining areas all while leaning into an elevated experience. I'll be back ASAP!

We went here on a weeknight to celebrate a special occasion and were pleased with our visit. It's an upscale restaurant and an open viewing kitchen as you walk to your table. Clientele included couples and what looked like several smaller post work business groups. We visited Peru last year and were absolutely blown away by the food (two places we visited are in the top 50 restaurants in the world list) so our expectations were high. We ordered the PNW and ceviche tasting appetizers as well as the branzino filet, aeropuerto bellevue and the achupado. The food and the service were all well executed and a pricey but nice treat in Bellevue.

Mi novio made reservations here for my birthday in April (I know I know it's a lateee review) and we had an amazing time! So happy to have a Peruvian restaurant on the Eastside! The restaurant is sooo beautiful. When we arrived it was for dinner and upon entering there was no host present. We waited a few minutes but no one came over so my man decided to walk up the stairs to find someone but a server saw him and asked him if we checked in with a host but we told the server there was no one there. The friendly server helped us and found the host to return to their desk at the entrance. Once sat we admired the beautiful decor and beautiful large menu. My man is Peruvian and was raised in Peru so trying a Seattle Peruvian restaurant is always fun and on the list for us. We always order a Pisco Sour and this one here was beautifully presented and tasty! Veal heart is necessary for me to order and wow was it delicious. The main entree we shared was the Achupado which also was super tasty. Food was presented nicely and was satisfying. Definitely a pricier restaurant so don't know if we'll return but super happy we tried it and marked it off the want to go list! Thank you la mar for a wonderful birthday dinner. All the servers were extremely kind, soft spoken, and helpful. We enjoyed a special occasion here and would recommend it for that :)

I have dined at La Mar a couple of times - it is consistently a good (but not quite great) meal. Service is unfailingly excellent, but the food is where the details go awry a bit. We have ordered the fish as our main entree on both occasions - it's always delicious, but it tends to be a very bony affair (as is to be somewhat expected with a whole fish for sure, but the micro-sized bones will be in every bite, which makes it not quite as enjoyable - some effort could be made to select different varieties of fish to feature/remove some of the pin bones). The ceviches are pretty good - sometimes a bit one-note (sour). The tiraditos are more flavorful, but they tend to be skimpy on the actual fish (we could barely pick out 4-5 tiny pieces of hamachi in the criollo). The entrees were hit or miss for us; we ordered the whole fish (tasty but see my comment above), the arroz con mariscos (delicious/well prepared), the lomo saltado (the beef portion was minuscule and VERY dry/tough), and the steak (a nice cut/tender, but undercooked through out - and I love a bloody steak). At this price point, I do expect more consistency in the food. The service saves the day, here, and the atmosphere is lively and fun.

We have visited here several times again for Happy Hour after our initial dinner date, and we have not been disappointed! $9 Pisco sours (yum!) $8 wine selections, and $6 beers. And reduced prices for a selection of fabulous apps. And don't be shy about having a full dinner, everything is fabulous!

From the moment I stepped inside to the decor and service to the taste and quality of food, I was impressed the entire night. Most bbq places are laid back and loud, but this place is refined, sophisticated, and everything you'd want for a date night or celebration. Starting off with service, everyone we spoke with was lovely and inviting. We felt welcomed and our server kept checking on us, but wasn't too invasive, so we were able to catch up. We were greeted with hand towels and 3 options for water. Cutlery and tableware were nicely set up and I'm obsessed with their plates! I was blown away by all of the dishes we ordered but my favorites were definitely the Uni Toast, Wagyu Volcano, and honestly all the meats we ordered to grill. They grill your meats for you, so it is a bit awkward because the person stands there until everything is done, but it's cooked to perfection! Highly recommend for a nice date night or celebration dinner.

We started with a wagyu toast and the meat just melted in your mouth. We also had alaska king crab with A5. Kind of a surf and turf nigiri. The uni toast was a little too much toast but it was a generous amount of uni. The Rubik's cube was a literal cube of meat. They cook it to perfection in front of you. Lots of sauces and sides to try. Everything was very good. It's amazing how different each cut of meat tastes. I loved the silky egg yolk in the volcano. They offer bottle service as well as drinks and their drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back!

Although it was pretty busy inside, we were able to be seated in about 10 minutes, which was great for a last minute decision for Shabu Shabu. I haven't done many Shabu Shabu places, but this one is a bit different since you get a set of vegetables and meat rather than ordering multiple rounds. The quality of the meat and vegetables, in my opinion, was much higher compared to those places where you're able to get multiple rounds of meat or select your own vegetables/sides. The broth (I had kombu) was pretty light, so it wasn't the best. The service was pretty friendly and the only fault to them was they didn't come around to refill our pots with hot water. I enjoyed dinner here and would definitely come back again. The quality of the food, the calm restaurant atmosphere, and the polite staff made it an enjoyable experience.

It's a very cute Japanese restaurant, with very patient staff who answered all our questions. (Thank you for doing that). Tha takoyaki was pretty good but if it memory serves I believe it was over $10. It wasn't too mushy and it was well-flavored. The salad was worth its price. It was very small. The dressing was pretty good, not too overpowering of sesame. The crunchy tuna rice was really good (I really like crunchy rice) but it felt over priced. This could honestly be made at home. The shabu shabu was very impressive. I got the sukiyaki shabu shabu, which I think had the most flavor out of the ones my family got (spicy miso and original). The ponzu and nut sauce that comes with the dish is delicious as always, and the meat was really fun to cook. If you don't know, it is called "Shabu shabu" because you swipe the meat back and forth and by the time u finish talking it's cooked! We got the Americans wagyu, beef, park belly, and pork. Everything was well made, fresh, and beautifully presented (the pork belly had a rose made out of meat!) Overall it was good. It's a fun experience. And hot pot type meals are usually expensive, but nothing quite tops MalaTang.

Chef Takai's omakase leans on the traditional side, which is my preference, and the portions of fish are great. I also love that non-sushi courses are interspersed throughout the meal, all of which are executed very well. Some standouts from my most recent visit: the matcha tofu (very memorable, amazing texture), hairy crab, and the anago. There was not a single course I did not like though! There is a paid lot right next to the restaurant, which seems like can get packed during rush hour. Waitstaff service was particularly good on my last visit, and Chef Takai was as personable as ever.
