    Almond Croissant

La Madeleine has really gone downhill--all in the name of profit, it seems. I've been a loyal patron since childhood, frequenting the St. Charles Avenue location in New Orleans. Twenty years ago, La Madeleine was a gem. Not anymore. On this visit, my almond croissant was overbaked--dark, slightly burnt, and almost empty inside. Hardly any almond cream to be found. So disappointing. Service was fine, and the interior is nice.

I order 2 Chicken Cesar salad and I ask for extra dressing.

I ordered 2 Chicken Cesar salad I ask for extra dressing. When I got home I open my salad and had only 2 tiny little cups on each salad and the dressing wasn't enough to mixed in my salad. I'm very disappointed of the service. I been going to this location for over 10 years and never make any complaints.

Everything was lovely. Staff was beyond sweet. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich with a scrambled egg and bacon. I've had this same breakfast before. This time, however, the cook decided that bacon pieces scrambled into the eggs, rather than bacon strips, was appropriate. Very disappointed and I won't be back. The bedrock of repeat business is consistency.

This was one of the strangest restaurant experience I've had. I came in about 30 mins after opening. There was a table of 4 guys at a table in the corner and one guy eating at a table by the restrooms. I stood for a moment waiting to be stated. There were 2 ladies on the other side of the counter talking. They looked at me standing there, but waited a minute before saying "sit anywhere". I sat down and was looking at my phone, waiting for a server. A couple of minutes went by and they said "coffee's over there". Hmm. I said, oh do it yourself, huh. I got coffee, sat down and realized no one was bringing menús. I asked where they were. "Over in front". Ok, looked at the menu (the ladies hadn't moved), decided what I wanted, and said "ok, now what"? She pointed to a register and said she would take my order there. I ordered and paid, and thought it was hilarious that they asked about a tip. Food came out, ding ding... the ladies didn't move. The guy eating by the restroom came and got the food and placed it on my table. Food was ok, but service, atmosphere, operations and management is non existant. Avoid!!

The food is good, it's a chain but nothing is bad here. I love eating here every once in a while and my kids love picking out their own food. The staff is sweet too. Everyone was helpful and nice!

This is my favorite cafe to visit for years now. However they had it remodeled a few months ago and it's not the same. It's lost its authentic French atmosphere. They used to have food out and you could see what you'd like to get and pick it. Now it's just the menu and you can't see what is available. We came this morning around 10:30 and my family each ordered a meal. I wanted to get Chicken Friand which was not available so I had to get a small yogurt which cost $8. They used to have bread out and you could get as much as you wanted. Now they portion it out, you have to go and ask for it. The lady acted nasty when I asked for bread. The amount I paid to eat here, for 4 people and they are going to have an attitude when I ask for a slice of bread? Just terrible. It's not the same and we will choose another place to eat next time

    Fresh Fruit Tarte

Ordered a couple fruit tarts and other pastries to eat with my family and they gave me two chocolate tarts instead of two fruit tarts even though they had plenty of fruit tarts.

I love their fried chicken sandwich and their pancakes are on steroids - super girthy. Parking is off street. I didn't see an elevator or anything to get up the stairs in case you have someone that can't walk up them. There is a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. I recently discovered their boozy coffees and that they sell Vietnamese coffee - eff the world condensed milk glory! So, freaking good. During the holidays, they sell egg nog lattes which are creamy and so delicious. But if you want the boozy one, go with the District Lebowski. Jaw drop, so good! I still think the donuts themselves need more work - I wish they would taste sugary like the ones in Lafayette called Meches. The toppings are exquisite and those hot honey fried chicken sliders are the best! The staff are very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I kind of wish those boozy coffees were at the other locations, but other than that, keep doing what you are doing!

District meets the suburbs…read more I've been to the locations on Magazine and Harrison several times but 1st time I have been to this one. This one feels like a chain restaurant (which it now is) and has no real personality being pinned in between a bike shop and a Jersey Mike's inside of strip mall. The kolaches at District are really good. They have a variety of flavors, I usually get a smoked sausage, cheese and jalapeno which is tasty but this time I got a brisket boudin and cream cheese kolache in a collaboration with Gonzo's. This was phenomenal. I also got a regular glazed donut. This was not that good. It's too dense and too thick. I like my glazed donuts to be light and airy; I want it to almost melt in my mouth. All of District's donuts are thick. Most of them are good especially the banana pudding donut. The issue is these aren't really donuts more like cakes or just a dessert. If you are coming to get your order to go this place is fine but if you want to hang out, I prefer the other locations.

The Harrison BLT was a big let down just felt they didn't put any effort into it was kind of just there. A BLT is a very simple dish but has to be made with love and care. The Winser Scramble had a lot of potential but it only had 3 shrimp in there it's hard to forgive that when that's the only protein it has in there. The hangover bowl was pretty nice, literally any dish makes you get over any hangover you have brisket in a dish it's always hearty. Now to the McOutpost, I love the idea of it.
