I've never had breakfast or brunch at Le Madeleine before. I ordered the avocado toast. Toast had a good amount of avocado on it, they topped with tomato, feta cheese, and balsamic glaze, so similar to a caprese salad. Delicious! I added an egg as well. I ordered a mocha latte, which was delicious too, and perfectly sweetened, I didn't have to add anything, and it wasn't overly sweet or too strong. Counted 6 tables that had not been bussed. Staff just isn't paying attention. Had the Nutella croissant muffin, but it was just a croissant with Nutella spread on top. Very literal. Free bread is OK, but made me decide not to buy a loaf for home. You order first, then find a seat, the silverware you get yourself, just a heads up it's by the drinks. I ordered the brioche breakfast sandwich, with a side of crispy potato hash, a hot chocolate, and a chocolate dipped croissant. The potatoes were rubbery and no flavor at all, very disappointing cause I was expecting a nice crispy outside and a soft tender inside. The sandwich was nothing special, something I could have made at home. Hot chocolate was simple and nothing really special, once again probably something I could have made at home. The food was room temperature, I was expecting it to be at least warm since I assume it would be "fresh". The food looked beautiful, but very disappointing once you taste it. On a good note, the staff was welcoming and attentive. Now that I know the set up, I can plan to go through the menu a little more next time. I loved walking around after eating but the restaurant itself was honestly super loud and the service was also pretty slow. It isn't a sit down restaurant but there's plenty of seating. We also came on a Saturday morning so it was pretty packed with screaming kids. Would come back but i'd recommend just ordering the baked goods at the front! We go here frequently for lunch or dinner. Friday we tried the new baked pasta. It was good but the parsley took a bit of the flavor away. Ms. Brenda, one of their staff, was cleaning our table and she asked how the food was. I told her it was good, but they could do away with the parsley and add more cheese sauce. She said she will mention that to the chef. Btw, she was very sweet and personable, chatting with us for a minute. Saturday we went back ( they have the Bouche de Noel cake back for the season, and OMD it is the best thing) so I can get some cake. My partner ordered the baked pasta and....wait for it. It was as cozy as ever though, and in the Fountains which is a really nice area. I had never been here and finally got to when meeting friends here on Friday night. The inside is very cozy and there are plenty of tables to pick from. I opted to try something small since we were just here to kill time while we waited for our dinner reservation elsewhere. I ended up ordering a small banana loaf with a vanilla latte. My latte had a single espresso shot. The single shot is about a dollar less then the double shot. My total was close to $8. The gave me a number for my latte and my banana loaf was given to me right away. I went to sit down and my latte was brought out to me about 10 minutes later. My latte was cute and they made me a heart out of the foam.. (awwww) the guy who brought it out was friendly and he even gave me a bon appetit! The banana loaf was moist and had a good flavor to it. They have a bunch of other pastries as well and they all looked pretty good! I would definitely be back as I would like to try the soups and entrees that they have! Stopped yesterday for lunch. I was appalled that person delivering food to tables was not wearing a mask. I observed her going in and out of kitchen, behind counter where pastries are kept with no face mask. All other employees in restaurant were wearing masks. If this is how the French eat, then I'm moving to Paris ASAP!! Upon walking into to La Madeleine after all the research I had done on the place, I expected to walk into a sit down style restaurant where a server takes your order and brings it over. Imagine my surprise when I discovered an almost...Panera-esque decorum and style. Just picture the Corner Bakery only WAY fancier! But seriously folks, the decorum was spectacular! Every meticulous detail from the casually stellar furniture and scenery all the way down to the elegant music playing in the background gave it that genuine coffee shop feel. This must be how the rich and famous spend their Saturday mornings drinking coffee and surfing the web. I half expected to find violin players in the corner of the shop strumming away in their penguin tuxedos, Titanic style. I had my prospects set on the cafè mocha and custom omelet with a side of potato galette. And nothing was shy of splendid! But let's cover the details, along with one minor caveat. First of all, the cafè mocha was easily the best damn espresso infused beverage I have ever had. This drink puts anything you get at Starbucks to shame. And it actually pains me to say that! From the chocolaty finish atop the whipped cream (which was just light enough not to get on my nerves, as I normally have an aversion to whipped cream) to the perfectly blended espresso base, there was literally NOTHING wrong with this drink! I dare say this may be my drink of choice upon every visit. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Next is the omelet. Best...omelet...in El Paso...so far! They didn't needlessly sear the outsides of the omelet like most restaurants do. This ostensibly fresh 3 egg omelet was light, fluffy and full of flavor. They have plenty of ingredients, so you can get any kind of omelet you want. I highly recommend this dish. And of COURSE...I had to try the potato galette because...French cuisine, amirite?? Whilst this item hits the mark, it's worth noting that the outside is damn near hard as tree bark. You'll need a knife to get to the good parts inside. But surprisingly, it all blends well and doesn't take away from this unique experience for a breakfast side. Outside of that, I really have no complaints about this place. It's always a refreshing thing to find a place that's excellent at what they do. If you're in search of a "hoity-toity" fancy pants breakfast, I highly recommend La Madeleine. They deserve 5 omelets light and fluffy enough to float off your plate and right into the clouds out of 5. read more

I was so absorbed with studying that my food got cold and they made me a fresh order-I have never seen anyone do that in the States! Anna is a great employee and front desk assistant. She made me feel right at home as well as suggesting delicious food. The manager Adrian was very friendly, as well. If you're in the area this sure beats Village Inn, iHop or any other dinner. A+! My main question for La Madeleine: WHY YOU NO BUILD ONE CLOSER TO MY HOUSE? It would be just my luck that as soon as I move from the East side, all these awesome places would start popping up. Well played East side, well played. I'm impressed by La Madeleine. I've never been to one previously, but I envisioned a Olive Garden with French food. It was better than anything I've ordered at a OG, but I can find better French cuisine locally so it's kind of a toss up (the good news is I haven't found any French cuisine on the East side so they have that part on lock). It's still in it's first few months open so expect lines, but luckily I came at just the right time to avoid the lunch rush and after 3 pm rush (I don't know why that's a rush, but it was). The small line that was there moved along quickly and those who needed to look the menu over a bit more had adequate space to consider their options without being in the way. So I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu pasta, knowing I wouldn't be eating the chicken. The menu is very chicken heavy, I'm sure you can have dishes sans chicken, but it doesn't change the price so I'd rather auction off the chicken to people at my table. As soon as we paid, we were handed a spoon on a wooden platform and I thought to myself, "Self, I may keep this." I didn't, but I deeply considered it. After serving myself a drink and picking up a fork and knife, I noticed a plethora of bread and butter and jams. All things I love dearly. You better believe I loaded upon breads and jams. Delicious. The food arrived shortly thereafter. One word, yum. Pasta was al dente, sauce was in perfect portion to the pasta and it was flavorful. The breadstick on the side was pretty hard on the outside, but much softer on the inside. Break it and sop up that sauce! So after my meal had been devoured, I actually took the time to look at my surroundings. Very rustic with dark wood all around, but plenty of light and windows to keep it bright.
