Pernil (roast shredded pork), fried sweet plantain, white rice, beans, small salad
    Katelyn K.

I decided to try this new spot for the first time and overall it's not bad at all. I was starving and didn't want to cook dinner but craved something different so I headed out and finally gave it a chance. I love Spanish food since I'm from the Caribbean also so I already knew what to expect having grown up eating Authentic Puerto Rican food and other similar dishes from various cultures as well. Upon walking in I was greeted by a nice gentleman who asked if I'd like to dine in or do takeout. I opted for takeout since I had a few other stops on the way home. I ended up placing an order for the Pernil (shredded pork) with rice and beans with a side of plantains. The cashier rung me up for tostones but I asked a server to be sure I got the regular fried sweet plantains I wanted and she politely relayed the message to the cook for me. My meal came up to about $20 it was a little more than I expected. I waited about 45 min to an hour before receiving my meal so that was a bit disappointing but Once I got home to dive in that kind of made up for it since the food was delicious the pork was seasoned well and not too salty. I wish the rice and beans were already combined but that they were still good to being separate. The portion size was perfect and I was actually able to make two meals out of it having leftovers for my lunch the next day. So I guess 20 bucks was not bad after all since I was able to make 2 meals out of 1. The restaurant was pretty full on this day surprisingly so that's a good thing as I've noticed many times passing by they seemed to get pretty packed. I visited this location prior when it was a Mexican restaurant so I'm very familiar with the interior but I like what the new owners did to give the space a bit of sprucing up. As I left everyone was kind thanked me for coming and told me goodbye. I would recommend and I will probably come back only place my order ahead to avoid the long wait.

My husband really enjoyed the beef empanadas!

This was our first time trying this place out, so we ordered a few different things to share. We first had the beef empanadas (which were way bigger than we expected for the price). They packed a flavor punch! We also had the crazy fries which were HUGE and had lots of great flavors and textures. My husband ordered the La Jibara (chicken & bacon wrapped mofongo, smothered in the most amazing cilantro cream sauce and cheese) with a side of this amazing rice dish that was SO GOOD! Like jambalaya, but with Carribbean flavors and sweet plantains... We ended with a guava pastry and some cheese flan. The flan was out of this world! We will definitely be back!

Nice to have another Puerto Rican restaurant here at Clermont. They have both the food serves from the steamed table and from the menu. The service was great. Our waitress checked back with us several times and answered all our questions about the food. I got the crazy fries as lunch and it was so reasonably priced at only $10. The fries was loaded with pull pork, mozzarella cheese, and Mayo-ketchup. Definitely will come back to try their other dishes and maybe even get to go order from the steamed table on my way home from work.

The food is outstanding! The service is amazing!! You feel like you are a guest in their home. I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it. You will not be disappointed!!!

Monfongo & fried meat is a favorite dish of mine. And there's was so delicious.

We drove about 1 hour and a half to check out this restaurant. The waitress was polite, and the service was great. The appetizers were delicious. My food was very delicious. .. One of our dishes was taking long, but the host or cook came and apologized. My family member said it was worth it because the food was delicious. Just one little thing that was a minus the music was loud. And we couldn't talk. We yelled at each other, and people at other tables could hear us. .. But the food was delicious and personal was great.

La jibarita, chicharrón de pollo con tostones

The service was amazing they were very attentive always asking if everything was okay and if we needed anything. We didn't have to wait for long for the food and it was very hot when it came out. The food was delicious and it was generous portions. They were playing music and the ambience did make you feel like you were in Puerto Rico. The establishment was very clean as well. I would highly recommend to anyone that loves puertorican food!

With that said, the food was excellent and there's a ton to choose from - it's easy to get overwhelmed, but the thing I enjoyed the most was the service and how sweet our server was (I forgot her name, but she was always so sweet and patient with our family). There were tons of folks eating mofongo so I'm sure that's a fan favorite here. We tried a few appetizers, juices, rice and beans, and shared a large platter that had multiple options for the family since it was our first visit and we didn't know what to try first. The tostones rellenos de churrasco (skirt steak stuffed fried green plantains) were delicious and come with five little cups and a dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure was mayo/ketchup. They also put a little PR flag on top which my kids enjoyed playing with. This ended up being my main meal because I wasn't that hungry, and it was the perfect bite of crispy, salty, and creamy with the dipping sauce. We also tried another appetizer that I didn't try, alcapurria de carne, which comes with two rolls cut in half (husband enjoyed it) and the Assorted Pal Campo which comes with chicharon, fried yuca, chicharron de pollo, tostones, fried cheese topped with a sweet guava sauce (that my daughter was not a huge fan of - I would ask for it on the side next time), and sausage. Definitely a heavy meal - and I felt like I needed to eat salad for the next two days straight after this meal - but it was tasty. Next time I'll ask for a side of cucumbers or something to break up all of the fried elements, or order something that comes with slaw/veggies.

As we were leaving I noticed WHAT it was & am absolutely disgusted We live in Florida , one of the hottest states in America & it was out for a very long time I hope they threw all this food away It's absolutely contaminated as it definitely could possibly give food Bourne illnesses to not only people but especially pregnant people I've been experiencing terrible stomach pains, throwing up almost anything and everything I ate along with this food Also we called and told the Ownerr about it and he came outside & touched it & went back inside to his rush hour line he most likely had & said on the phone "it was just delivered" Which no it was not , it was literally defrosting in the heat & I physically touched the food to check how warm it could've been as well as it was directly under the hot sun So HOPEFULLY he took it inside & made the right decision to just throw it back out and call it a loss but when I touched it , it was basically warm to touch and it was a bunch of frozen stuff... yuck
