I am a miami native, living in Kissimme now, and when I saw online influencers posting about Fumao, I was veryyyyyy excited. There are BARELY any authentic cuban spots in Orlando. So learning about Fumao, I was super happy to plan a Sunday outing with my kids, to have a taste of Miami. I drove 45minutes, and arrive at 11:30am. We had already decided what we wanted. We knew it was sandwiches, and little bites. We couldnt wait to have the croquetas!! We find a little table, I walk to the counter, I start with "can I have 7 croquetas". The girl at the register then tells me they have no croquetas and no pastries or empanadas, since they ran out at 9am. My jaw dropped and my face fell to the floor. As much as I respect the "freshness", I don't fully understand how on a Sunday Market day, 3 weeks since opening, you arent actually prepared to sell your smaller bites for atleast closer to the end of the day. Running out an hour into the day? Definitely something that needs to be worked on for the long haul. After accepting the huge disappointment, I then I proceed with ordering a ham and cheese sandwich for my son. I ask "thats with cuban bread right?" The girl says "yes" I say "great. Let me also get just a cuban toast by itself". She then says "oh we dont have cuban toast". The confusion hit me like a brick. I say "so u have cuban bread for a sandwich but not a toast?!" She says "oh because we ran out of bread and we are waiting for more. Let me go ask". She comes back saying "good news, the bread is fresh out of the oven. We can do the toast". At that point I was just over the entire experience. It really looked like they were just trying to hustle for sandwiches and not what the customer even wanted. I paid and sat and waited. The ham and cheese was basic. Couldnt expect much. The toast barely had butter. We were over it. I can't say I'll make another 45min drive to risk experiencing the same thing. I am hoping they learn the ropes of running a restaurant a little sooner than later. I really do want them to succeed. But not having half of your menu for half of your day, is a huge loss if you are marketing the miami cuban bites in an area craving them. read more

To the point, the food was good however it was too pricey. I ordered 2 pastelitos de guava/queso (cheese), 2 croquetas, 1 cafe con leche and it cost $19. I appreciate that you value quality but you can get same quality in Miami for 50% less. I was just there and paid at most $8 for that order. Truthfully, I believe I paid less. I am sharing this b/c I would love to see you succeed and remain for some time but at these prices I am not sure you will receive a steady flow of repeat customers. CLERMONT FINALLY has a LEGIT Cuban restaurant. For the longest, Clermont residents have had to suffer from lackluster options and Fumao shines. This brand new cafe sits in the heart of downtown and is open from 8am-2pm. They have a number of different pastelitos and sandwhiches as well as coffees. They opened just this past week and the staff is still being trained but they are doing a great job and I'm looking forward to them growing! read more

We have been here four times and each time they were out of food items. We recognize they are new, but you'd think after several weeks they would be better prepared. They also close randomly for different reasons. The 45 minute drive is not worth the continued disappointment and we will not be back. We would rather go to Zaza's in Altamonte Springs. read more

My wife and I have tried to come here 3 times already and finally grabbed some Pastelitos. It wasn't lunch yet so we didn't want Cuban sandwiches etc. We didn't see a breakfast menu but that's fine. However they had tostada ( toasted Cuban bread with melted butter) / we decided on getting the guava and guava and cheese Pastelitos. It was a bit expensive and it was just okay. This location just opened and it's truly authentic Cuban food. My husband and I had the Cuban sandwich and I had the media noche. So delicious. The staff is friendly and engaging. The guava pastelito was to die for. We can't wait to be back. read more

the reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the lack of preparation and planning is breathtaking! Someone please tell these people we are in a free America. Not Cuba! As a born native Cuban I can certainly attest to that. And there is no reason why a brand new Cuban eatery should be running out of food within an hour or two of open business, EVERY DAY! I cannot even safely say the food is good because I was only able to try the ham and cheese sandwich and steak sandwich . That is all the had left at LUNCH TIME mind you! I tried again today and the same thing happened. I was so hoping for a place like this and unless they get their act together I do not see them succeeding. This is not an authentic Cuban spot! The service was good, but that's about it. The coffee was horrible and tasteless! The guava and cheese pastry was like a child who is learning to cook and made their first pastry at home. The croqueta was just ok. Overpriced and definitely overhyped! Starting with the positive: the tostadas and the cortadito were good! However, I think the prices are way too high for what you get. I paid almost $4 for a pastelito de carne that was TINY and barely had any meat inside. And the pastries were nothing special, so the price is not justified. Additionally, I came in at 10 am and they were already out of croquetas. I understand running out of food if they just opened the business but they've been open for weeks at this point so you'd think they would be able to anticipate preparing enough food. Like how are you a cuban bakery running out of croquetas only 2 hours after opening. They have a sign saying that because they value freshness, when they run out for the day that's it, but if they are running out so early in the day there's clearly an issue. Overall I'm disappointed and I don't see myself returning, but I hope the owners read these reviews and make the necessary changes for this business to succeed read more
