My gf introduced me to this place. The absolute best Morcilla I have ever had. It's a hole in the wall/ mom and pop situation but those are usually the best. Great service. You can sit outside and enjoy the weather. It's a bit of a drive for me but well worth it. Fully recommend. read more

Friendly people but these palettes were outside since I arrived to the restaurant & that was about an hour in a half worth of time of it just sitting in the heat. Mind you it was about 80 degrees outside :/ We decided to sit right next to these not even realizing what it was and ate for about an hour. Just not good! Texture of the chicken and pork was super off. That turned me off right away. The tripleta sandwich that I had pretty much fell apart bc the bread was so flimsy. Caught them just before closing, which is probably my only complaint. I wish they were open later so I could get to them after work on my commute home. For starters we got alcapurria, stuffed yucca, and pastelillo. The stuffed yuca was amazing. I forgot to ask what it was stuffed with when I was there, but I don't care. That was my favorite. Had a great dinner here. Be aware - no indoor seating so it will close if it rains. We went one night and it had rained earlier in the afternoon, and they were unfortunately closed when we arrived! We got some bbq chicken, beef empanadas, and shrimp. The owner helped us figure out what to order as it was our first time. Everything was delicious! Perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. Papi Pincho is the real deal! The food is absolutely delicious! If you just drive by you may not consider stopping in because there truly is not a sit in dining area, tables are set up outside. You order your food and it is put in a takeout container and you can sit at some outside tables which are set up. Bottom line if you have traveled to Puerto Rico and have stopped at a roadside eatery, it is exactly like that. We ordered alcapurrias, pastelillos, octopus salad and cuajito (sp.?) oh and let me not forget the pinchos. Everywas cooked perfectly and tasted even better. I highly recommend this place. If you close your eyes and let yourself be guided by your senses you will think you are in Puerto Rico. I live in groveland and noticed the "Papis Pinchos" sign on a tiny little building. I decided to stop in and try it. While the restaurant itself may not be all that impressive (who cares?! I'm there for the food) the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and the music and outdoor sitting area made me feel like I was back in Puerto Rico. This place is always busy. We decided to try them out and didn't understand what all the hype was about. The chicken had good flavor but was dry and the pork didn't have a lot of flavor. The rice tasted stale and the plantains were super greasy. Maybe we went on a day they were off their game because I don't see how people rave about the food we got. Authentic Porto Rico food. Tiny converted house with a cafeteria like serving counter, and only outside tables. Located on east bound US 50 just east on Main Street in downtown (?) Groveland. At lunch the place caters to truckers, big dump trucks, semi's, and tanker trucks. They can park on the street right in front of the place. I guess the diesel noise and fumes adds to the Local flavor? You get a huge mound of yellow rice, red or black beens usually put on top the rice. Your choice of pounded flat, or just cut thin, beef - dry or in gravy with onions, or fried pork chunks. Both were very tough and hard to chew, with little or no flavor. There was what appeared to be a roasted I cured ham (pork roast), that looked good and tender I'll have that next time for sure! I tried time marinated, uncooked plantains - never again! Potato or macaroni cold salad probably would have been better. I looked around to see what the truckers were eating, and it looked similar. So, if you want something different, and you've never been to Porto Rico, try this unique place. It is different. read more

I've seen this place a few times driving to Orlando but always on a Sunday when they are closed. The other night we were driving out on a Wednesday evening and passed by at about 7:45 just before closing. We immediately pulled over to run in and get some pinchos. Hoping it would be as good as the pinchos on the island. I placed an order for 3 pork and 3 chicken pinchos and 2 maltas. Our food and drinks were out in just a few minutes and they were amazing!!! Great seasoning, great flavor and awesome sauce. I cannot wait to stop out and try more on the menu. Honestly it was an amazing experience eating at papi pincho my meal was magnificent! The yellow rice was nicely seasoned , nothing extreme since the black beans are nice and salty and they bring sliced potatoes inside so that brings it together perfectly. The side of salad went perfectly with the bread , but most importantly the pork pincho was mouth watering nice and tender barbecuey and juicy. From a scale 1 to 10 for sure a 10 all the way . While traveling in this part of the state for business I discovered this tiny little place that serves home made Puerto Rican food. I have returned many times over the last two years. They make the best Pinchos and Tripletas anywhere. The limited menu changes pretty much every day so you never know what to expect. There is no inside air conditioned seating --just outside seating only. The outside seating is fine this time of the year but during the summer months the heat is brutal. In addition to the Pinchos and Tripletas, this visit I also had the Empanadas De Camarones and Tostones. Good, very good! The prices are very good too. You can get a great lunch for $5-7.00. Traveling across the state from a track meet, I couldn't believe we found a Puerto Rican place in this little town!! I had pernil and my husband had bistak. Both were flavorful as were the rice and beans. I also ordered tostones for $2.25 and got six big pieces. I liked that the tostones were not overly salty, in fact all the food tasted easy on the salt which is a big, big plus for me. We sat at the picnic tables and enjoyed the beautiful FL weather and enjoyed our meal. This is definitely a place we would come back to. read more
