    Chicken soup

Visited La Hacienda with coworkers recently for lunch. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and given menus along with salsa and chips. For lunch, I went with a creamy chicken dish with tomatoes and peppers. My coworker recommended the chicken soup, but I didn't request it. Next time, Gadget. Next time. The food was delivered quickly and my chicken was delicious. It came with tortillas, but I didn't use them. It also came with the usual sides. I very much enjoyed the dish and it disappeared quickly. Yum! Great food, great service. I'll be back.

I am not familiar with many food options in Lawrence, and my boyfriend I came here for lunch because it was located near Fort Harrison state park and it was convenient for us. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Indy and here the service was the least friendly. Our server was just doing bare minimum, never checking on us after we ordered and got our food. He lacked personality too, and we were not taken care of. My dish was good, although it took long. However, other Mexican restaurants easily exceed the level and speed of service and I will not return to La Hacienda.

Today was my second time going to this location & it didn't disappoint. My only drawback is that I was sat near a window and it was extremely breezy on an already cold day. I ordered the chimichangas camarones and they were perfectly crisp under a salad and atop bed of refried beans. The chips were fresh & hot when they came out . Queso was extra but a necessity! My grandmother only had one complaint of her chimichangas- she got the shredded chicken, she said it was more so like chunked chicken than shredded. For my drink, I kept it simple today with a house marg on the rocks with salt, it was perfect! I'll definitely be back!

Weather is getting nice, so we ate on the spacious patio. Also 3 of us each had a dog with us, and they are dog friendly on the patio, so that is Awesome! Chips and salsa, #margartias, burritos and all a #yum. I originally ordered hte Texas margarita, but it was not at all what I htought -- I was expecting spicy but it was pretty sweet. My friend had a skinny margarita and it was tasty. The server graciously swapped mine out for one of those. We also got there at a perfect time on a Saturday afternoon right before the patio started filling up -- softball team & parents came, so yes, they can apparently handle groups, too. #yum #dogfriendly #ReviewsByRL

Enchiladas Verdes sans cheese and sour cream

La Hacienda was pretty good! I went in on a Saturday afternoon around 2:45pm and it was busy! Our party of seven was well cared for. Our server was a rock star! He was friendly, attentive, fast, and efficient. I'd give him 5 stars! The food came out pretty quickly. The salsa was good, as were the chips. I ordered my go-to enchiladas verdes (chicken) without cheese and sour cream. This made it gluten free and dairy free. :) The chicken was well seasoned and the salsa was perfect. The enchiladas weren't as good as my the ones at the place I usually go to, but still pretty good. The rice as well. My friends all seemed to enjoy their own food. One specifically noted how good the red sauce was on the enchiladas they ordered. The queso was a table favorite as well (I'm dairy free so I couldn't partake). Bathroom was a single person (one men's, one women's) and clean. Overall, I'd go back if I were in the area! Otherwise, I'll stick to the one closer to home.

Looking for your local chain Mexican restaurant, then hop over to La Hacienda! I love their chips and salsa, and they always keep it coming by the basket! My favorite items to order are the -tortilla soup (chunks of chicken, avocado, cheese, and veggies in a super flavorful sauce) -arroz con pollo (cheesy rice and chicken with warm tortillas to wrap it all up) -pollo fundido (chicken burrito deep fried and covered in cheese) Margaritas are great in come in many different sizes! If you are wanting dessert, my go to dishes are the churros with ice cream. I'd love for la hacienda to make elote!

I would wager that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence. The location is great (in an old train station) and they have a huge wraparound patio. The menu is typical Americanized Mexican food (that you can get in dozens of places around Central Indiana), and there's nothing wrong with that.

This is where you stop and eat after spending time at Fort Harrison State park. Exceptional service in a clean atmosphere. I recommend the Texas margarita and the chimichanga. You get 2 Chimichanga's under a generous mound of salad. Green salsa gives it extra spice. When it's warmer, I like to sit outside on the patio. It's a nice place to enjoy the breeze.

I used to go to Hacienda all the time, like 10 years ago. I've come to know now that this is pretty much like any other Mexican restaurant. I wouldn't call it unique in any way, now wouldn't call it authentic either. So when we went here the other night after a decade, I just want impressed. Nothing wowed me, nothing special, just run of the mill. It was busy. The servers either don't have the time or the desire to really converse or socialize... our server was pretty disinterested in us. I guess the only advantage to sitting down and having dinner is eating your meal hot and the chips and salsa they bring out immediately to munch on is good and gettinga pitcher and socializing with your group. The margaritas are again just your average premix. I get a shot of Don Julio to mix in otherwise it's pretty much kool-aid. As with all other average Mexican places, if you want alot of food on a budget, this will work for you. Not bad, not great just average.

This particular La Hacienda is our favorite when we want to sit on a patio/outside and sip a beverage. Located at Fort Ben, it is close to home and the food is good - a double win! Service is friendly, salsa is tasty, and we have had good experiences at each visit. The hubs usually gets some type of fajitas - and they are served on the hot skillet here. He is also thrilled that they usually give him plenty of tortillas and lettuce - bonus. I get some sort of chimichanga (soft, not fried) or burrito at each visit and have always been happy. Food comes out SUPER quickly, too - so that is helpful when you are in a hurry. As noted in a few other reviews, prices may be a little higher than their competitors - and we average about $35 for dinner for 2 including tip, without adult drinks. That price can go up if you choose to have a beverage. As a heads up, they are not affiliated with the La Hacienda on Graham road, so your coupons will not work at this location. Still worth a visit if you are near the Fort!

The restaurant is sleek and has a cool vibe, but we immediately realized it was not going to be what we thought of when we saw "street tacos" mentioned during Google search. It's more of a metropolitan American Soul fusion place, with a heavy emphasis on loaded, uniquely flavored tacos instead of traditional Mexicana. The server was wonderful in explaining their menu and gave multiple recommendations, which I went with all of her great suggestions once I told her what I was craving. My husband didn't enjoy his appetizer, saying it tasted too sweet instead of savory for him, but the server was great at being aware of our plates and took the appetizer off our bill when she noticed he wasn't eating it without us even mentioning it. I got three different tacos, and the only one I didn't enjoy was due to the Mac n cheese that was stuffed in it. It just didn't taste or feel right having a taco with macaroni that was pushed in so densely that it became a sponge. The other two were great! My husband gave his burrito a 3/5, as he felt it was too much one note. Overall, don't come here if you're looking for upscale Mexicana, but instead want to enjoy interesting fusion flavors and fun cocktails. Great place for a group outing or celebration!
