came here for lunch. there weren't very many people in the place when we got there so it was nice and quiet. the place is nicely decorated - theme of a french bistro. the bar looked very nice and had top shelf stuff - good gin selection. didn't drink but had a nice view of the bar. food was quite good. french onion soup - great flavor. cheese could be stringier but good taste. my only complaint is that the bowl itself was a bit shallow and therefore could have used a little more broth. it was good, but that would have made it that much better. wedge salad was good - big. burger was done well. turkey croissant was also very good. menu looked good otherwise and will be back for it. prices seemed pretty reasonable. read more

Yeah... it's a bit pricey, but is gas... and you don't write a poor review at a gas station. It's french which is synonomous for a little pricey. I had mocktail. Amazing. We've been to this restaurant twice. The first time was for dinner and we had an amazing beef bourguignon, a great salad, and amazing desserts (chocolate mousse and an apple tart). We decided to return for happy hour at the bar and we are glad we did. The vibe reminded us of a brasserie in Paris. The staff was so down to earth, friendly and efficient. The $2 oysters were a selection of 3 types they offered and the pate was out of this world. The fries with honey and cheese were the only blah. Paige welcomed us so wonderfully. We ordered a mushroom appetizer was really delicious. For an entree I ordered the salmon that had mushroom and spinach wrapped together in a flakey croissant type of bread with a nice sauce . It was delicious and really big portions. I took home some leftovers. My BFF ordered the duck and it was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The decor is pleasing. I enjoyed the meal and I would come back. Here for a champagne wine pairing. We come here often and this is the most recent tasting. We have not done a champagne tasting before this. A pic of the menu is attached. Service was very good. Our sommelier was Gail. We have attended tastings with her before. It started 30 minutes late which is always an annoying issue with tastings as everyone else has to await the tardy arrivals. We think the tasting should begin around the scheduled time and the late comers can catch up. The food was very good. We started with cheese puffs and olive tapenade. The pacing between the courses was a bit off, notably between the second and third courses. It was a larger group than we are used to for a tasting 28. The wines were quite delicious and each was explained in detail. We learned a lot. The reserve champagne with the third course was particularly good. $100-135/bottle we were informed. What a great atmosphere and loaded with natural light. Bartenders were fantastic and attentive even when across the bar. It only took a head knod to get another beer. I could smell the fresh expressed lemon in the la granfe martini before I even got it. Possibly one of the best martinis I have ever had. Getting the 1664 Blanc on draft is also fantastic! My husband I have been to La Grange in Yardley twice. My husband follows Christian the bartender on Instagram and was dying to try his cocktails. Christian did not disappoint. The drinks were fantastic and presentation was impressive. The banter between bartenders was enjoyable, they were busy but looked like they were enjoying themselves rather than stressed. It was happy hour and I included the happy hour menu in the photos. The second time, Sterling was our bartender. His cocktails were also fantastic and we had pleasant chitchat with him. That night we ordered the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, probably the best I've ever had. Great price for the size of the appetizer. Big shrimp, cooked to perfection and the presentation was awesome. Served on ice. We were also given a bread basket. We haven't had dinner at La Grange yet but so far they are knocking it out of the park. Valet service on weekend evenings which was helpful on our 2nd trip. The Valet was very nice and took good care of my husbands antique car. We will definitely be back. read more

Finally tried La Grange last night for the first time and am so happy I did. After visiting Paris last summer, the ambiance of the restaurant does try to mimic that of a restaurant in Paris. The tables are smaller like those of cafes you see on the streets. Our waitress was lovely, the bartender was a hoot and the food/drinks were excellent. We were there past closing and not once felt rushed to leave. It is a bit pricey but worth it for a night out! read more

Well, that lunch I was looking forward to was disappointing. Two of us were seated in the bar area. The place was almost completely empty, but I suspect diners were sitting outside since it was a pretty day. Unfortunately all the flies in Yardley were inside keeping us company. We spent our entire time swatting at them. This happens when servers and other people are coming in and out. I was looking forward to French onion soup my favorite. It was truly a letdown in every way. The "toast" on top was heavy and totally mushy with some nice gooey cheese on top. I left 90% of the soup. The onions were mush and the broth had a strong flavor of whatever alcohol was used. I couldn't really taste the onions. I had planned to order something else if I wasn't full from the soup. Instead I ate a piece of Baguette with some butter. The crisp wonderful baguette from my last visit was rather stale this time I thought. We skipped dessert and coffee. Neither of us mentioned our thoughts on the food until we went outside. My friend thought her croque monsieur was good; I thought it looked like much less of the sandwich I've had in French restaurants. I said my soup was disappointing. People have been commenting to me on the food at LaGrange. Service is good & the place is gorgeous. I think the owners should have opened a LaStalla II in Yardley and stuck to what they do best. read more

My wife and I ate dinner here with another couple and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the service was also very good. The hostess and the manager were very helpful. All of the food was prepared well and we had absolutely no complaints. The only issue we had was that we felt that the round tables were a bit small for dinner for four but that was quickly remedied by moving to the square table. The decor was really nice inviting. My friend lives in the apartment complex nearby so when we had a girls weekend, we came here for dinner. The space is really nice. There appears to be a dining section and a more casual section near the oyster bar. We were seated near the oyster bar at a round cafe table that couldn't have been bigger than 4x4 for four people. It really took away from the experience -- between our water glasses, our wine and our plates, there was barely any space left for dishes. We were constantly having to rearrange, stack things, or give them to our server. In terms of food, not bad. The standout was the mac & cheese side which had a blender cheeses that is not typical but makes sense for a French restaurant. We split the trout special, which was good and came with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The scallop dish did not hit the mark in terms of presentation, flavors or textures. The scallops were scattered across a long oval plate along with singular pieces of gnocchi. I also didn't like the scallop and lobster sauce combination, but that may just be me. Not a bad experience by any means but would not rush to come back here if I didn't live nearby like my friend. read more

This place is simply amazing. We have been searching for a place that does French food wonderfully and this is it! Our server, Leaht, was incredible and offered us suggestions and was extremely attentive. For appetizers, we got the French onion soup (savory and not too sweet - perfection), escargot, and egg mimosas. We also received about 3 baskets of the amazing bread - the best baguettes we have had since being in France. The boeuf bourguignon was incredible - the potatoes were soft and paired perfectly with the sauce. My daughter had the bolognese and devoured it. My husband had the steak frites and it was cooked at the perfect medium rare. Our son had the special and enjoyed it as well. Even owner Donna came by at the end and was so nice to welcome us. We were excited to try something new in Yardley so we ventured to La Grange to sit at the bar and try some appetizers. The service was slow... Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and the bartender had absolutely no sense of urgency. We ordered the french onion soup, the mushroom vol au vent and the fois grois. All were ok. The mushrooms were great but it needed a bit of acidity to lighten it up and it was luke warm. The onion soup was good also but could have also Bennett's brightened up with some acidity and some pepper and maybe a little fresh herbs? The fois grois was good, husband liked it. We then decided to try the escargot because why not? it was ok, the garlic was a bit raw and overpowered the snail. I dunno, it was fair to good but has the potential to be really good, they just need to fine tune a few things. The atmosphere was great, I ran into a few friends and the wine was a good value. The waiter we had was very kind - service overall was pretty great. It was super busy though so nobody checked in about how our food was and it took a while to get the check. My brother's lamb was extraordinary. The French Martini was also amazing, and the apple tart was great too. My duck was pretty overcooked and rubbery. I kept wondering what I'd say if the waiter checked in (but he never did). The mashed potatoes were normal. The scalloped potatoes were average to below average - nothing special. I was also surprised nothing was comped for my brother's birthday. The waiter said happy birthday both when we arrived and when we paid, but that was it. We also didn't get the shot that was supposed to come with the pear sorbet. It took a long time to get the check, too. Overall the service was great, aside from not being asked how the food was and the long wait for the check - but for the price, I was expecting the whole meal to be more consistently great. I don't mind paying for an incredible experience, but the duck was a bummer. Our waiter was very nice though, and clearly busy, so I'd still give high marks for effort. Some of the other drinks and desserts looked amazing. Perhaps if I had ordered the lamb too and got a different side, this would be a raving 10/10. Would love to try the steak at some point, but not sure I want to gamble the money. Not bad - just not a 5/5. I do appreciate that they're trying. Ambiance was very nice. Servers were all 10/10 trying their best. And while I didn't LOVE everything, it's very easy to see that everyone is making an effort and they're trying hard to get better and better. I don't know if I want to gamble another $200 meal but I also do feel that they will come around over time - maybe I'll try again in 6 months to a year. read more

Once they hit their stride I think LaGrange is going to be a wonderful addition to the restaurant scene in Bucks County. The service was a little slow ( we ate a late lunch and it wasn't particularly crowded). The bread service was generous and tasty. The flavor of the food we ordered as mains to share -- croque monsieur and a goat cheese asparagus tart --was spot on but our food was cold. Unfortunately, the escargot was sandy and rubbery and not served with crostini to sop up the sauce ( our bread service did not arrive with the delivery of this course). We ordered a bottle of trefethen Chardonnay (54$) which was a great pairing with our food. It's a crisp, light Chardonnay that cut through the richness of our dishes. 54$ is probably a bit steep for a wine that can be found at the local wine store on clearance for 15$. All in all a mixed bag. We will try again in a couple of months with the hopes that the hiccups mentioned above will have been addressed. read more

Loved my recent lunch at La Grange. The restaurant is very beautiful as others have noted. The service staff is well trained and were kind, accommodating, and attentive in a very positive and not at all laborious fashion. The restaurant has almost two sections which took me a moment to digest, pun intended, but I like the feel that you can get in the more open, big-windowed outdoorsy section as well as the old-school bistro type of bar on the other side as well. The food is excellent. I loved my salad and I'm a bit of a salad connoisseur! Almost the best part of course was the bread. So key. I enjoyed the butter that they served with it even like the small details such as my coffee being served with a petite Madeline on the side; it was very Proustian. Please know that I wrote to the restaurant via email before posting - no response. Disappointed. Please know that I initially planned to write a public review, but ultimately chose to reach out directly out of respect and homage to Chef Woosley and the legacy associated with the Bistro La Minette affiliation. The intent here is not criticism for criticism's sake, but care for the experience, the reputation, and the standards we so admire. I chose La Grange specifically because of its affiliation with my all-time favorite French restaurant, Bistro La Minette. That connection alone set high expectations and framed the evening as something special--a celebratory dinner with my daughter and what we hoped would feel like a return to a beloved French standard. The atmosphere delivered. The space evokes the elegance and energy of Parc--warm, inviting, and beautifully styled. Live music added a lovely, romantic touch, and the staff was professional, welcoming, and attentive (though interestingly, they weren't aware of the restaurant's affiliation). There were definite bright spots. The salads and the burger were plentiful, well-composed, and flavorful--exactly as expected and genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the classic French dishes fell short. The escargots were so small they were nearly indistinguishable from the garlic and butter, and while the sauce was flavorful, it carried an oddly funky note that distracted from the dish. The duck confit--typically a cornerstone of French cuisine--was heavily breaded, unexpectedly dry, and paired with a sauce that tasted more like Worcestershire than a traditional French preparation. This was particularly disappointing given the context of the evening. It was meant to be a celebration and a meaningful return to flavors we deeply admire. While the ambiance, service, live music, and select menu items were strong, the execution of the French classics did not meet the expectations set by the name and its heritage. I REALLY want to love this place. The decor is a beautiful French modern vibe. Unfortunately the food is not very good. I've been there twice now. Once for dinner when they first opened; the food was just mediocre. We wanted to give them another chance so we went for brunch with friends. I had the omelette which was tiny on the plate, barely anything inside, and an enormous pile of lettuce on the side with bland dressing. Two people at the table had the special which fell flat. The quiche was decent. I wound not go back to eat, because in my opinion the food is that bad. I would go back to have a drink and then go to another restaurant to eat. read more

Myself, daughter, son & niece decided to go somewhere different & new to eat at over a weekend. The choice was a new French restaurant in Lower Makefield/Yardley called La Grange. Knowing nothing of it except that the owners also own an awesome Italian restaurant in Newtown it was time to give it a try. The building itself is a beautiful structure and spacious inside. The use of the space was cramped, tables right on top of each other. Now I understand in France that is how it is but they may not have to huge dinning area as this did. Besides sitting close to your fellow dinners it was hard for the wait staff to maneuver. Our waitress was very pleasant but at times seemed uniformed. Now for the food. Being my first time I wanted to keep it simple. For an appetizer me and my son tried the bone marrow. It was tasty with the added condiments given. I had the cheeseburger with Swiss cheese, mushrooms & caramelized onions, it did come with a heaping plate full of what else - French Fries; but for $26.00 I expected something amazing. My son got the roasted chicken which looked good and tasted good according to him. The 2 ladies got soups - one French onion & the other Leek of which they raved about. We finish off with cups of La Colombe coffee, an excellent coffee. Final assessment is that it was a good experience and now that I have been & would go back I will study the menu for another entrée. read more

We recently had dinner there. The salmon looked delicious - lovely crust on top. But it and the spinach bed it sat upon were both so overly-salted that it was painful to eat. We tried this place shortly after it opened and found it incredibly loud and uncomfortable and did not like our dishes. (I don't remember what they were.) Now, we thought, with the "French Steakhouse" rebranding, we would try it again. So disappointing. So loud. Not at all comfortable to sit in the cavernous room. Too hot to sit outdoors. Service was excellent. Whipped potatoes were good - and adequately salted! I just read a bunch of reviews, many of which mention how crazily-heavily-salted the other diners' dishes were! Wish I'd read them before we went! I don't expect to return anytime soon. Such a shame, to ruin that beautiful piece of salmon like that. :-(The bread and butter were fresh and delicious, and since so few restaurants still put them on the table as a starter for no charge these days, that deserves a positive mention.) read more
